a discussion about the new blood into water album and future works
blood into water is a low key noise industrial project operating out of San Jose California, the project started recording material in 2006 and has been releasing albums for free via his internet label, internal cranium bleeding. On April 22 2008 the first new full length album was released on icb and is an album full of gritty noise textures, offensive lyrics, and sometimes heavy bass attacks.
Q: What is the story behind how this album came to be?
A: Well, the first 4 tracks were recorded in one day, i was inspired by hubris and eternal slavery and damnation, i just wanted to record some gritty strait forward harsh stuff, the layers were basic and everything was recorded in one shot, i all ready had in mind what i wanted in the end and tweaked my gear before hand and just went at it. The second half of the album is songs i have recorded between November and now. I had them put aside for the first full length album of the year and after i had the material all done i decided to put the album out.
Q: What is the overall message of this album, and or its songs?
A: Well each song kind of covers a different subject. The first track is fairly self explanatory, i got the idea after watching a bunch of alex jones movies, the whole idea of the elite forcing population control, so the character of that track is basically a crude eugenicist literarly gluing a womans vagina shut. "he fucked the dead boy" is about a hobo who finds a dead boys body, who may of been dead for no more then a few hours and decided to give it a proper send off by fucking it, terror and humiliation is about how the government uses terror to make you the individual feel like less of a person by scare tactics. All the tracks explain them selfs by the titles and lyrics, i think like most of my work, my older material had a more mysterious vibe, as i think some of my future works will go back to that, but recently i felt like being strait forward with whatever message i am trying to get across.
Q: What is the track "industrial died when certain americans touched it" suppose to mean?
A: Hah, oh industrial, what a tossed around whore that word has become, snobby goth kids have been having battles with underground types forever about what is industrial and all that shit, most of us know where it came from, the whole monte cazza and throbbing gristle industrial records thing, thats about it, they made a statement mostly in a joking matter i would think and all these fucking people took it to town. To me industrial is just like saying something is rock right? Like people call the Beatles rock but they sound nothing like led zeppelin, to me industrial can be a wide variety of music, be a noisy thing or a track with a 4 on the floor beat, then you get in to this whole mess of ebm, and rivet and whatever, it's music , it's art, call it whatever the fuck you want, same thing with power electronics, and noise, power electronics to me is a more textured, complex thing where noise is noise, but power electronics can contain elements of all sorts of different things, i think it's more important to just focus on the music rather then what to label it, and i think most down to earth people feel that way. Anyway the story behind that track hah, is taking a stab at fake shitty bands that call them self industrial, you know wearing all the make up, having that same guitar rift, trying to be all dark but it comes across fake as hell, i suppose that could be on any continent but the American ones are the ones that get pushed in my face around here and i hate it. But as i said who cares what its called, they can call them selfs whatever they want, it's still utter shit.
Q: How does this new album differ from the last EP you put out "ending the compromise?"
A: All the tracks on ending the compromise took a long time to make, i spent allot of time composing the textures on that, i can not put in to word the difference of that album but if you listen to both albums you can feel that this new album is more strait forward, and ending the compromise seems to be in a more complex realm, i think anyways.
Q: What is the story behind the title "closer to unknown pleasures"?
A: Well any joy division fan should get it right away, its the title of both their albums put together with the "to" thrown in to it, the title for the album, or that statement is to say that with each album, you are trying to uncover more stimulation, so the further you go the further you discover unknown territory. Using the two joy division was also just to pay a little homage to them,
Q: What are you plans for the future?
A: To get a severed tongues full length album done, and to push blood into water in to new territory, just take my over all sound in all my projects to a new level, i like what i have done but i think its time to move on to new realms, i could talk more but you will know what i mean when the new severed tongues comes out.

in all my experiences in my life, the one thing as a whole that has had a total impact and marvelous stimulated effect on my being, is the subject ART,
art in all its many spawns and forms,
my first attempts to embrace art had been in many diffrent ways, one from my jr high and high school years was writing, story's, poems, rants, whatever.
in the year that i was in 8th grade i had started to make various attempts at writing short story's in the vein of science fiction, i even attempted to write a whole book based on a time travel adventure story.
but like most things in my life, i never finished, and moved on to other things
in the last 5 years i have immersed my self in to various forms and functions of experimental music and audio, or "Avant-garde"
the avant garde aesthetic has had a huge impact in my thinking, actions, and daily life. since 2001,
true since i was a child i often craved the bizarre or surreal
but not since recently have i chosen to put that aesthetic to music and audio.
i have always been a wanderer and explorer in my heart, and the past 2 years i felt i had to pursue more then one thing,
i have decided, to seriously attempt to write a book,
the topic, i am unsure,
i have this science fiction story fragmented in my head,
i want to sit down and work it out, involve deep deep charter development, an intricate story line, intelligent dialog, social observation on modern society, and hard science fiction.
deep and emotional character development has always attracted me to the art of story telling.
i still plan to finish all my musical projects as well, but to also but serious effort in to writing a coherent book,
perhaps nothing will come of it, but at least at the end of it, if i make it, i can look back and say, i did it, i wrote it, its done!
and that feeling alone is worth more then any amount of modern goverment currency

pain in the air
You can shake it like you mean it, You can disregard your acts You can wait to long until the story is over and all opposition is behind your back
Its things like this that make me miss a revolution
You can stand against the tides, With ammunition in your brain It's a chaotic cycle of polluted politicians and schemes
Its things like this that make me miss a revolution
I'm not sorry For the pain in the air It's your fault That you left them unaware I'm UN broken by the abuse you sent to me It's so clear of the things we can not see
Feel the pain in the air
Stranded in the field The shepherded left his sheep He escaped last night when no one was looking; his fear was to be attacked
Its things like this that make me miss a revolution
Can they make it on their own? Or kill each other for the throne It's a vicious circle of back stabbers and the two faced friend
Its things like this that make me miss a revolution
I'm not sorry For the pain in the air It's your fault That you left them unaware I'm UN broken by the abuse you sent to me It's so clear of the things we can not see
Feel the pain in the air Feel the pain in the air Do I care? You're unaware You're unaware Feel the stair More then I can bear Watch them fall Make the call Feel the pain in the air

The neutered docile consumer community has outnumbered the free thinkers and artist, Or have they, Or is it just free thinkers and artist are so full of themselves they can't pull the community together to fight the docile consumers who are greatly entertained by immature celebrity excess, useless politics, and fast food.
Yes In fact artists are full of shit and free thinkers are wankers,
Well not and all cases, but that seems to be the case for some,
There are different types of people Those who want to overcome the enemy with brothers at their sides
And lone wolfs who wish to face the enemy head on with no one at its side,
Then you have the random types who don't give a fuck at all,
Which I am sad to say has become me over the last year, I personally don't give a fuck about any kind of major social change in our docile consumer society because in my lifetime its never going to happen "Realistically speaking"
A lot of people in the past had brought about major changes, Hitler was a great example, but sadly he became weak in the end, gave in to drugs and failed, But truth be told he could have changed the world even more so if he had not given in to selfish pleasures.
Hell even way before that society's where changing all the time by zealous soldiers and rulers, but the age we live in now which is the greatest age of technology and communication, but its made the people lazy and indulgent,
.
What it honestly and realistically will take to make social changes in a society today is a real radical with insight and not just intelligent but and ability to look at all problems with an outside prospective which is a talent most human beings lack, the reason most people lack this is due to giving in to their egos and self centered desires and pleasures, First of all desire is illusion and the more you give in to your faulty conditioned mind the further you will fall in a mental prison, you will trick your self and say "hey I am a free thinker, I am an individually" but the truth is you are anything but…..
What separate us as human beings in society is our own petty indulgences, and most of all our egotistical preferences.
Free thinkers and artist are devouring each other left and right, just as bad as mindless politicians, a lot of artist who do quality work become pretentious assholes who only stick to elite social clicks or in some cases shut off everyone all together.
I am not saying this apply to everyone, just what I have notice more then once, You know it is a problem when you are shocked and overwhelmed to come across a down to earth genuine individual who has little or no self pity or self centered intensions.
So what will it take to bring about a great major change in all society all over this world that is plagued with humanity, a selfish cancer that consumes and fucks up the plant and all living things including its own kind,
Well I don't have an answer, Various theories and many intelligent individuals have theories too, Hell a lot of people have theories that in truth would work perfect,
But nothing ever has an impact, Of great social change,
In my mind I feel a change is coming but my fear is our self obsessed society and masses will pass it up or destroy it
Fuck America, and fuck self centered assholes,
