For those of you that haven't been keeping up on your Emish news, let
us fill you in. We welcomed into our Emish family four new little
babies... ironically all on the same day. That's right, not only do Jen
and Christy dance and play in sync on stage, but they managed to go
into labor on the same day, May 15th!
We're proud to announce
in birth order our "Weemish" ... drum roll please.... Ashlyn Grace
Brown weighing in at 7 lb. 5 oz., Colin Thomas Curreri at 4 lb. 5 oz.,
William Patrick Curreri at 3 lb. 15 oz., and Jocelyn Grace Curreri at 4
lb. 7 oz. We've enjoyed watching these four blessings thrive over the
past three months. The girls act more like twins and just like their
mothers, and are dominating the boys!
Emish rehearsals have
been wild and so much fun with all the babies and the many people who
have been joining us to help watch them. We're so excited to be back in
the saddle and we have a great lineup of upcoming shows. Please check
out our schedule, we can't wait to see all of you!
Soon we
will be back in Buffalo after being away for too long! Check out Emish
at the Buffalo Irish Festival on August 28, 29 and 30th at the Hamburg
Fairgrounds. All of the babies will be in attendance for a meet and
greet before and after the show!
Thanks to the many fans who have sent well wishes our way! We hope to see you all soon!

At long last, "One More Round" is officially available at cdbaby! You can also find mp3's and ringtones at itunes and other digital distributors (you're dream of carrying Bobby around in your pocket can finally come true!). We had such a great time at our CD release at 20 Front last month and can't wait for our Buffalo release in January (special thanks to our Buffalo family and friends that came to spend the evening with us in Port Jervis!). We are also very excited to introduce to you our new bass player Kevin McComb. We have spent many a practices all sitting around with Mikey and Kevin making this a smooth and musical transition. Mikey will definately be missed (and his mom's brownies; Irene, feel free to keep sending them - we love you! ;-) but we're confidant that you're going to love Kevin as well. Here is a little snipit to give you an idea as to whom our new bass player is (more is soon to come on our website): Kevin was born in the bustling metropolis of Middletown, NY, and has been playing music since his first guitar at age 14. With his roots in gospel and bluegrass music, Kevin ventured off into the world of high school jazz band only to return to bluegrass 4 years later. However, the pull of Irish music was far too great. With his father's Irish rovers record collection and the help of his long-time friend, Al Gessner, Kevin was inundated with Irishy goodness. Kevin's influences include: Chris Thile, Nickel Creek, Johnny Cash, the Irish Rovers, and Gaelic Storm. Over the years, Kevin has played the guitar and harmonica in many enjoyable bands, such as: Ruckus, Divided Highway, and the Parting Glass. He, now, begins his new life as a bassist for the atomic superpower that is Emish. In other Emish news, we're also putting a new face to the website that will go along with the new CD. Keep checking that for updates as well as show listings. We're now booking into the summer and are already so excited about the new festivals that we're adding to our roster of shows! Hope to see you all soon. May you all have a safe, healthy, happy and musical holiday from our Emish family to yours! Emish

One More Round CD Release
"And it's one more round for each of us, one more round to go. And we don't care just where we're headed, just keep us on the road"
This is the opening line to the opening track on our sophomore CD "One More Round" and it couldn't describe how we feel any better. "We started this band just to make some music, who knew where it would go". It's now been four years since the conception of Emish and we are so proud of where it has gone. In this short time we've enjoyed traveling all over playing anything and everything from dive bars to main stages at festivals and have loved every minute of it.
We loved it so much that we have again entered the studio to record our second CD! Our many hours of recording and hard work mixed with Mark Dann's expertise in the studio and the awesome designs and artwork of Sean Addy, have all made for a project that we are overwhelmingly proud to release. It will be ready for your listening pleasure on Thanksgiving Eve, November 26th, 9 pm at 20 Front St. in Port Jervis, NY. You'll also be able to purchase it online in December at CDBaby [ http://cdbaby.com/cd/emish ].
This is going to be ONE CRAZY NIGHT... We don't wanna hear any whining or excuses about the next day being Thanksgiving. If you are any kind of Irish music loving fan, you'll be out there on the dance floor ready to party because it's going to be INSANE! It's a big night for many reasons. The obvious is that it's our CD release. It also happens to be the biggest party night of the year. Top that with us unveiling a brand new t-shirt design based on one of our tracks "Guns and Pride". You'll also witness Tom playing on his BRAND NEW DW drum set, you should see this thing (it's so beautiful it could play itself). Most importantly though, it will be Mikey's last show with Emish (single tear). Mikey is moving forward in life with other endeavors and although we are very saddened to lose such a talented bass player, he'll always be a great friend and always be part of the Emish family. So come out and help us celebrate all that Mike's done and give him a farewell he won't forget.
And as the old adage goes, "as one door closes, another opens" and so the growth of the Emish Family continues. We welcome a new bass player to Emish who will be officially introduced at our show in December. We have taken some time off in between these two shows to get the new guy all polished up ;-). While we're speaking of Emish growing, we'd like make yet another announcement that Emish is expecting! Christy and Corey are expecting their first bundle of joy on May 11th, just one day before Christy's birthday!!! Bobby and Jen are also expecting to bring home a bundle in May as well. We are so excited about all these new members in the Emish family and are even more determined to keep it growing (both musically and physically! ha!)
Don't think we forgot about all of you in Western New York! Saturday, January 17th at the Buffalo Irish Center, we are planning an equally exciting CD Release Party with our good friends Penny Whiskey as well as some dancers.
Until we see you again, take care....
Emish

hello all you crazy emish!!
some of you may be wondering why there is a picture of tom filling up the gas tank...well it was just a part of this crazy weekend! a lot of you may remember when poor jennifer broke her leg. well the curse stuck in the curreri household when bobby decided to punch a wall....actually a sturdy wooden beam...and not only broke his hand, but actually crushed, fractured and broke a bone in his right hand. besides the fact that christy was sick and the curreri's brand new van broke down, emish was striving forward as they made the quick trip to buffalo and rochester this past saturday. on the way to the great johnny's irish pub, the ford escape that has been through a new alternator this past summer died on the side of the road. (fortunately we were not on the highway!) after a good scare, emish came to find out that the car was out of gas. jen was so excited to get to johnny's, that she completely didn't check the fuel tank! just for the record, tom gets the prize for this weekend! and that folks, was just the start of our weekend! fortunately, our streak of luck only got better as we rocked out the emerald ball in buffalo and met up with some great family and friends in the great city of rochester! looking forward to seeing all you emish out there soon!
