It took awhile, but our cover of Gram Parson's classic Byrds track, "One Hundred Years From Now" is finally available! It's a digital only release and it appears on Timeless Flyte: Full Circle--A Tribute To The Byrds. The individual track is also available from iTunes.

We've been playing the song live fairly often and it's a real favorite of ours. The original is one of the great early country rock songs, and probably one of Gram Parsons' best as a songwriter.

For most people, the time between the recording of an album and the day it appears at their favorite record store/illegal file sharing site is a mysterious time. We are currently occupants of that mysterious time--engaged in the strange work of editing, mastering and designing. All of these half-science/half-art tasks take time and money. Sometimes they seem far removed from the immediacy of songs and performance, but the album has a life of its own--it tells its story and keeps itself fit despite all the poking and prodding.

We'll be telling you more about that story in the future, but for now we're just thrilled to let you know that it will be coming out in early 2008 and that we're currently involved in some conversations that look to make it a more far-reaching release than we might be capable of on our own. We've found some champions of fine songcraft who share our love of the finely turned phrase and richly spun melody, and who recognize that Houses & Homes is something of  a musical statement in that regard.
