Current mood: busy
Dear Friends,
I know I’ve been gone awhile, lord knows how busy I’ve been. I’ve recently been promoted at work to management. Which to say the least is exciting for me. I will be graduating in June with my Associates for Business Management in June and then my Bachelors in December. I’m going out to New York City this weekend, and Texas in the summer. In May I’m hosting a concert here in Fred-necks-ville. I’m busting my butt trying to get enough acts booked... (*hint, hint*) Um, nothing much in May though, so I think I may take the month to get in gear for what’s looking to be one busy and exciting summer!
So aside from being really busy, having ridicule thrown at me every time I turn around, and trying to keep my head focused. I’m doing okay. I know many do not like the path I have chosen for myself, and that’s fine with me. If they should happen to read this, I’ll go on record for saying, "You don’t live my life, you don’t have to live with my choices. I don’t care what you think, this is my life not yours! It doesn’t matter if you don’t like it, I believe that everything happens for a reason and that it’s all a learning process. Maybe you’re supposed to learn something from this too!" Which is something that I have been repeating for the last few months. I’m starting to feel like a broken record. It’s sad that people just can’t be happy for other people.
Anyway, enough with that. I just wanted to drop a blog and let everyone know that I’m sort of still around. You know where to find me if I ever cross your mind.
Peace, Love and Blessed Be, Jade Cat

Now I was scoping through you tube just a few minutes ago when I noticed something that struck me as odd.
A few years back, I'm sure plenty of my friends can remember this event, Mercury records went under. A lot of the artists were "obtained" by various components of the "Universal Music Group".
What struck me as odd upon my searching for a few videos that have influenced me in one way or another was when I went searching for "Weird" by Hanson, which contains an interesting water effect involving the doorway of a subway car. When I finally found this video I discovered it to be under the "universal music group" you tube sub-site.
My question is, "Is that legal?"...
Did Universal obtain all of the rights for everything from Middle of Nowhere to This Time Around??? Did Hanson not obtain the rights for this music when they went indie? Did they not think to? I seem to recall a few friends of mine obtaining their musical copyrights upon their departure from the Mercury transition. Did this thought escape the Tulsa Trio? Or is Universal committing copyright infringement?
Does anyone have the details on this? Because I am truly curious to know.

Current mood: aggravated
Ya'll know people and their games anymore. I got back in touch with a few people that I haven't talked to in years. But pretty much how we were communicating was through those stupid repetitive surveys, not one person could write a direct e-mail even though I took time outside of answering their "now do this like I sent it to you" surveys to write some to them. About two or three weeks ago, most people quit talking. Almost every person I know keeps telling me they're too busy, I know this happens a lot around June on the internet so it wasn't a big deal at first. Yet, then I noticed that these people have time every night to fill out eight or nine surveys, and not just the short ones either, I'm talking about the 100 to 200 questions which take a good deal of time to do. They can't answer any e-mail but they can do surveys? What's up with that?
That's easily a couple hours work every night and that time could be spent sending a few HUNDRED "Hello how are you?" e-mails, especially if you write a generic one and copy/paste. Most people could cover everyone on their friends list in the time they're taking to do these surveys. I'm tired of it! If no one's going to talk except though those stupid things, then I don't have to be here. If this was only one person, you know I wouldn't say anything, I'd push it off as nothing and go on with my own life, but it isn't and I'm not the only one that feels this way. However, in situations like this I find I'm the only one who will open my mouth. I'm sure all of you remember that about me. What can I say, I have a talent for opening my big mouth when others are being hurt. Oh and let's not mention that when I posted that I'm not doing anymore surveys my friend list count went down by nearly 12 people. It really just goes to show how shallow people are. And I don't mean this by self centered and whatnot, I mean this as in these people don't have the nerve to be direct with anyone. That's a real shame. Maybe it's just my up bringing, it's hurtful that they took that action. I mean really hurtful. There again I am constantly told that I am the one who always seems to listen, so if that's true what does that say for the people who would rather abandon someone then talk about whatever is going on?
Still, I'm taking two weeks off of MySpace and if at the end of those two weeks I come back and don't feel any better about this situation, I may just take my internet stuff down, ESPECIALLY MySpace. If people don't have time, and they're going to act this way then I don't have to waste my time. I can't help the people who won't let me. I cant read minds and I cant take a reaction if there is no instigating action. I cant help if you wont let me. I feel like I'm repeating myself, I've said just that to so many through the years and still it happens. I can't just sit here and constantly ask why. I won't wreck myself for someone who can't accept the choices I've made. It's not fair that people think I have to know all from the get go, I'm not like that, people change.
Besides, I think I get replies from three or four people on MySpace on any day and all of them have e-mail addresses that they use. So really, what's the point of having 200 friends on MySpace if only three or four of them talk, when I can just as easily send e-mails from my non myspace address?
If you find yourself having a problem with this then ask yourself, how much time do you spend on surveys and internet crap when you have people sending you e-mail after e-mail that you don't answer cause you "don't have the time"? I bet if you really take the time to get a heartfelt answer you'll find out it says "too much time on the internet crap, not enough time spent answering the letters that friends send you". Don't you think your actions are hurting someone out there? Do you care?
So… in effect to all of this at MIDNIGHT TONIGHT I am leaving MySpace for two weeks. I will give my e-mail address and IM to anyone who wants it before then. Other then that, you'll have to wait two weeks before you hear from me.
I'll remind my local friends about the birthday gathering my family and I have planned the weekend of August 4th for those who can take the time to attend. You can e-mail me to get specifics. Though I must admit, since for the last 6 years no one has showed up to anything like this, I find myself expecting a dwindling r.s.v.p. And after what happened after I posted that I'll no longer be answering the same questions over and over and over again, I can only hope that I may be wrong about that. Ah well, I guess it's one of those things that shows you who your true friends are.
Hmm, reminds me of a song I know… Shannon Curfman "Loud guitars, big suspicions", track 3 "True Friend".
Anyway, my best and most heartfelt wishes, Jade Cat Jade_bh@yahoo.com

Ok, I'm not a bad person. I'm not trying to be, take this for what it's worth.
Yeah the people that commit these crimes are real @$$holes, we all know that. They did take live and yes it is sad that these people are no longer alive. It's very sad about those that died in the tragedy… but what about the survivors?
They have to live with those images in their heads for the rest of their lives. How come it seems that no one is praying for those that survived? Their friends and family are going to need deity support too! Think about it, would you want to go back into that routine? Knowing a mad person went ballistic on the campus... Could you step back into that building without a second thought? Could you look at the people around you in class and not wonder "who's next"?
Yes, prayers be with those that died.
But Lord and Lady help those who survived, they'll need all their faith to make it through!
Just a thought!
