Recently, I was honored to learn that I'd achieved GiantSquid status on Squidoo. Squidoo makes it fast, easy and free to create and share your own lenses about stuff you like. Plus, you can earn a little (or a lot) of money from them for yourself or your favorite charity.

Got an invitation to Spock.com last night. An interesting concept. It's less of a social networking venue and more like a database of people. People are tagged and others can vote on whether the tags are accurate and/or add new tags. Operationally, Spock is a little rough in the signup process (took nearly 20 hours to send password) and kind of scary in terms of the site's interaction with LinkedIn and other sites, but it could be interesting over time. Much of the content at this point appears to be bot-generated. If anyone wants an invite, let me know (they give you 101 to start, sort of defeats the exclusivity angle.)

I just received a note from Squidoo Editor in Chief Megan Casey with the news that my Living With War lens is in the running for Lens of the Year! As I write this, the lens is currently 108 of 215 nominees. Your vote will help the Living With War lens win the first Squidoo Lens of the Year competition. Seth's Blog: Happy Squidoo Day celebrated several landmarks in the evolution of Squidoo, including the continual growth in traffic and adoption for this Web 2.0 success story on March 14. ..>..>

Adventures in Web 2.0
With new and cool social networking and social search being introduced virtually hourly, it's not hard to get caught up in imagining the possibilities offered by what's being called Web 2.0. I decided to use this blog as a way to keep track of my newest finds and share some of the content I'm posting on other sites.
Highlights of today's wildly eclectic adventures in Web 2.0 include new blogs on this site (you're reading it) and on 360.yahoo.com, (check out the cool avatar,) fun with JamBase and a new Squidoo lens tribute to the late, great Warren Zevon.
Digg my link to content related to last night's HBO premier of Real Time with Bill Maher, or find the link on my Susan_Reads Squidoo lens.
What links or other content work best for Web 2.0?
