Hello everyone!

Well, we are going through a few big changes right now. Our great friend and long time band-mate Jonathan Woods will be leaving the band after almost 5 years. There are no hard feelings or anything like that. He just has a lot of other stuff going on in his life right now and he feels that it's time to move on from YFM. The rest of us (Joey, Benjamin, Stephen and myself) will be continuing on as Yours For Mine with our good friend and new drummer Dan Rolen. Joey will be moving primarily to vocals.
We wish Jon nothing but the best. And he feels the same about us.
We'd like to thank anyone who's kept up with us these past 4 and a half years. We're all thankful for the time we've spent together as Yours For Mine and we're excited about the direction that the band is heading.
We're also excited for Jon and everything he goes on to do.
We will be putting a much bigger priority on touring than we have in the past. We are currently working out a tour for November of this year, so keep in touch about tour dates!
We'll keep you posted on new and exciting things to come from the YFM camp. Thanks again everyone. We love you. God bless!

WHAT HAPPENED TO US

Goodbye old friend. You've been running forever and now you're going back. Never to return. To bring back what I've earned. Have I made myself clear? I kind of wanted you to know that this moon is bright enough for me and you. Contradicting your blue eyes and setting me to darker skies. I kind of wanted you to know that this room is dark enough to see no use. Blessed eyes with ugly lies leading me straight to you. Applying for security. Cash in hand to burn it like a lamb. It's understood that giving up hurts. And like this wound you will heal and find your own way back home. Turning in for night to hide your broken lover's life. You will find your way. Burn it down, the home in which you grew. Throw it all away in hopes to live one more day. In hopes to find your groove (muse). Now its your move. It's understanding that what happens tonight can't control you. Run for the hillside. They'll be searching for more lies in your eyes. If I find you're a part of this, I'm never coming back. Depart for the front lines with lies in our eyes. It's your new conviction. A blurry sky, defeated lights. You're unreasonable.

CALL ME DISTANT

What did you find? Was it anything or was it nothing at all? Was it close to your chest, inside your heart or further away from the start? Forget what you thought, we're past that part. I'm just hoping for something that makes us more than we are, more than we deserve. And what do we deserve? Something far more than we've earned. Is that what we deserve? How can we move with yesterday's news, growing trees from the seeds in our own minds.
Who we've been with, what we've lived for. Why the crying. Why the shouting. Well we've crashed this town and now we're coming back for more. What will we do? What more can we hope for? Something new. Something bright. Something to turn around the night. And rediscover something we lost in an all too familiar face. Oh God, save me. Your hand in my hand. From violence You've saved me. And I trust in Your love. You are my light, my saving grace. Let's forget the night. We're waiting for blue skies to come. My faith rests in what I hope for. I'm certain of what I can't see. These tired eyes have proven lies less
appearent than the truth we believe. Show me new lies so I can trust in what I see. This flesh has become clean by the sight of the unseen. I'm never leaving this house. The sand is creeping in. Neighbor, don't be a fool and build it on sand. If all we do is run away from home, we will become the sand. Neighbor, don't be a fool. We write to you dear children. For in His name's sake you are forgiven. For in His name's sake you are not forgotten.

BLING CROSBY

Let's talk about the lack of relationship of who we are and what should we be? And so we say in a single breath "we are one!" Let's talk about the lack of relationship with who created and died for what we know. And so we say in a single breath "You're done. You're gone. You're dead." Oh God, mercy be your weapon. Oh God, save us. Is there even an ounce of hope? I'm starting to doubt that love exists. I've been lied to before. Is this time
better? Is there even an ounce of hope? Father I don't know.  Resound my heart has been found. Is there any hope for us? I'm beginning to doubt it. I'm beginning to think that what I said was what I meant. You meant what I heard. You knew it, I turned away. I turned around to find my way. Lord I need more of you in this place. Oh God, we're drowning in this. Sitting back, looking up at the clouds at dawn. The stillness that is vacant in me. We're so caught up in us.

THE INSTRUMENTAL

All the world is turning, turning from you. Forgive them God for they know not what they do. We'll stay here. Oh Holy Spirit. We'll stay right here.

NATIVE TONGUE

Let's look for ways to define jealousness. Simple rules to destroy what we feel. Trying to
find ways to define selfishness. Slaves to understanding, I'm a man of shallow faith. For so long I've tried to impress you and or everyone, and now you say it doesn't matter. Lifelong ambition is a simple phrase for holding us back. Creation and a whole new set of rules. To
calculate the meaning of meaningless thoughts. We try to understand, when all we need is trust in You. This is the one, and we know because we saw it through Your eyes, and they never lie. Just as if Your light were to cease, so my soul would pray for peace. And altogether we realized this, and altogether we knew this is the one, You are the one.
And all the while we thought we heard "we can't stay here!" And never simply calling out Your name! And so you say in all you've heard, you hear what no one else will learn. Like trying to listen to the sound of broken glass. You find the beauty in destruction. You think you know me well. I've been broken long enough. I've never seen so much beauty in
disaster and now You say it doesn't matter. We're stuck falling back and forth, reeling in disaster. You and me are like halloween. Searching low and high but we never find. Navigate your walk before you talk. Your native tongue and thoughts are changing. We've been thinking far too long. We've been talking far too much. We'll never see what we
have if we never think about it. And so you say in all you've heard. You hear what no one else will learn.

ABSENCE IN ELEGANCE

You die in photographs. The images, they never take you back. At the point of no return in me, at the edge of lying to yourself (the murderous deceit). And the secret debut screening, created in me, created just for me. The keychain and bracet nine to five, what would you do? And so I pray each and every day, that this would somehow only get a hold of you. And seal this fate as our last dying day. Could you help yourself before you come unclean? What an interesting aside the core values of our time (we’re dressed in red). Advertise you’re broken faith the answers come in time (all in due time). Broken wings and broken legs, a broken heart, my feeble mind. Run around the dancefloor. Home, turn around and go. You’re jealousness is tyranny. A brokenness is healing me.

MY TOMORROW

Let's start this night off right. I'll cut you deeper than before. If you can't feel this in your bones, I'm not going deep enough. Let's start this lie off right. You've got everything just perfect. And up until now you're had nothing to hide. You're better than me anyway. You called into this verse of sense. Bleeding from the ears reminded of your fears. Your words are guns with no sight. I pray that at some point you'd lose your fight. Pray with me, Stay with me, Be real with me. I'll never hold you down. I'll never run far from you, gracefully
in tact. And beautifully distracted, you'll be reminded of your pitiful sight. You're no more than I can bear, but you can't stand my arrogance. You are no less than I am. I am no more than you are. Let it be known in the towns. The cities thrive on fears of desperate lives.
Come stand with me. Come rejoice with me. Come band with me. Cause my brother, you're stronger than me!  Come stand with me in this. Rejoice in helplessness. I will stand with
you, and your helplessness.

THE ANGRY END

We need You here. We have a problem. We need You here. We have faltered our time, and we have fought long enough. We need You here…We need You here…Staring out of due time and what was promised us. Again it hasn’t come true at all in us. Second chances define the intervention of the miracle that saved my life. Calling all of the enemies now, the angels on my shoulders are here to stay. Watching guard on skies and for years they say: “Heaven is waiting!" Over and over, and over and over, and over again. It’s a chance to get out of this place. You cut me straight to the point. My thoughts are less when you’re gone. You know I see you in everything in me. I know you drive me to think, I know I drive you to fall. And all these things that you feel, I know are less when I’m gone. And everything I know that you want me to be, I will be everything you are. In me, so stay in me oh Lord! Please breathe in me. I feel you like an aside, but can’t you see that I’ve tried. And when you need soul why can’t I see you in mine? In my heart, in my heart again I say. You cut
me straight to the point, and caught me right in the eye. And all these visions of you have been my selfish cry. Take my hand, run with me now, and let me see you.
Stay with me here and hold me until my life has fulfilled you in your name. I'm desperate now, I'm hopeless
now, please hold my life until this body is broken.

Category: Life

...His name was Jesus Christ. But he didn't just die. He came back to life and saved us from Hell.

I'd like to take a minute to say how much that means to me and the rest of the guys. Without faith, without confidence that we exist for a reason, without God...Yours For Mine would not be a band. We play music because we have found true happiness and want to share it with as many people as possible. I find it amazing that more people will listen to what we have to say, just because we play instruments. We aren't better than anybody because of our common faith. We are, in fact, servants (though we may not always act the part). We are here to bring good news...not to trick  or badger anybody. Some of the things we believe in may seem a little rediculous to others...that's ok. We're not going to treat anybody like a criminal just for thinking differently. We're here to be a friend...and by that i mean much more than: we have our picture on your myspace friend list. If you ever want to know more about us or what we believe...or you just want to talk about life in general...please feel free to contact us. Thank you all for your support. Take care!
