Current mood:  adventurous
Negating Condiments is the first full-length album from UK Bass pioneer Debasser. It follows releases on WIDE Records, Input-Output, Seed and the critically acclaimed Fat Girls and Dark Smile on Novamute.

This 9 tracks LP kicks off with the bass laced licks of Amateur Drunk, a suitably sinister lead in to the eagerly anticipated Quite Erotic - the ugly sister of Debasser's classic Fat Girls. Hush, delivers a more minimalist approach to the UK Bass sound alongside the downtempo deviance of Foxytrot while Reacharounds and Splashbacks is a straight up Techno Bass banger that has set dancefloors alight at recent Debasser live shows. The more stripped down sound of Track By Magic cuts up breaks and scratches before "Spag My Bol" refills the speakers with a nod to Debasser's old skool influences. The penultimate track, Simple Beat is a minimalist masterpiece that synchs sub bass and glitchy beats before Don't Question It? builds a rough and ready bass line into an almighty album finale.

DJ Cutlass Supreme returns with his first release of 2007 for WIDE Records. This 6 track EP features 3 new UK Bass singalongs with remixes from Debasser, Full Spectrum & Kansas City Prophets. 'Pump It' is a distinctly British brew inspired by the U.S Ghetto House sound while "Drop That Beat" and "The Mash Tun" fuse Miami Bass and Dubstep.

DJ Cutlass Supreme is one of the founders of the UK Bass sound which fuses Ghetto Tech, Booty Bass, Electro and Jungle. He has been DJing for over 10 years and played clubs, festivals and radio shows across Europe. In 2003 he released the acclaimed "DJ Cutlass Supreme Presents UK Bass" mix CD on Novamute and produced remixes for Pro-jex, Chips & WIDER Records. In 2006, Cutlass released his debut 4 tracker, "The Old Skool EP" on WIDE Records. Cutlass is currently preparing for the release of new Booty Breaks material through top breaks producer Deekline's Rat Records imprint later in the year. DJ Cutlass Supreme drinks Real Ale.

WIDE Records presents:

The UK Bass EP - Various Artists (WIDE MP3 004)

WIDE Records is proud to present the release of the long-awaited UK Bass EP through juno.co.uk and djdownload.com

The 5 track Digital EP brings together four London based producers for an eclectic mix of electronic bass manipulation.

01. Summer Funk by DJ Cutlass Supreme

Ideal for the sunshine. A bouncey bass track that cuts up fast percussive loops and pianos...

DJ Cutlass Supreme has been DJing for ten years with the WIDE collective playing clubs, festivals and radio shows across the UK & Europe. In 2003 he produced the acclaimed "DJ Cutlass Supreme Presents UK Bass" mix CD for Novamute and in early 2006 released the "Old Skool EP" on WIDE Records.

02. Dark Matter by Paul Blackford

Another classic rave track straight outta Staines. Synth stabs, bleeps, bass, badass...

Paul Blackford grew up in the early nineties at the peak of the Rave/Acid House era. His first EP entitled '1991' was released in February 2003 on Breakin' Records and became and instant UK Bass anthem. Paul has released further material on Breakin, WIDE, Audio Aubergine, Digital Distortions and also library music for television on BMG Zomba.

03. Fire Walk With Me by Debasser

Dark, driving electro from the master of bass manipulation...

Debasser has been a producer since the mid nineties and helped kickstart the UK Bass movement in 2003 with the seminal "Dark Smile" on Novamute Records. His trademark bass sounds and infamous live sets have taken him around Europe and the UK and led to releases on Seed, input-Output, Fleeced and WIDER.

04. The Weak Butcher by Bad Motivator

A twisted Junglectrofunk track that takes UK Bass one step beyond.

Bad Motivator is a collaboration between Debasser and The Institute of Ape Culture fuelled by strong ale, reggae, electro and bass.

05. The Ticking Seventeen by The Institute of Ape Culture

A Junglist Dream. Deep bass synths and bullet paced drum edits.

The I.o.A.C made its legendary live debut in 2003 and has never looked back. Founding member of the IoAC Josh Thomson makes hard and fast music influenced by his obsession with Bass heavy ragga jungle, ancient Swiss electronica and the shopping arcades of the early 80's.
