My Space music has now launched in the UK so it is now possible to buy all our songs from this site.

To hear all the Cousteau music please visit our playlists and select the appropriate album.

There is no update yet on the copyright issue, I suspect we will one day hear back from EMI as to why they believe they own our copyright, but until such time we'll have to make do with live tracks on the player and access to the other music via the playlists.

Daft of them really, having music on the player to be heard immediately by visitors is more likely to sell our music than asking visitors to go to playlists.

Onwards and upwards.

is currently blocked by My Space who are contesting our right to the copyright.

Unfortunately the form you have to fill in to attest to them that the group does own the copyright i subject to the usual My Space error screen so cannot be filled in and returned to them.

So please accept our apologies that this page is currently bereft of the music for which Cousteau DO own the copyright and we will do our best to get this back on the site as quickly as we can.

Meanwhile the two live tracks remain available to play.

Despite having contacted My Space via the official channels with full details of ownership of the songs from Nova Scotia, My Space have now removed the songs.

This is very like the scenario that Edwyn Collins wife Grace Maxwell publicised recently regarding Edwyn's song A Girl Like You which took her months to get sorted.

Unfortunately we now have to wait until EMI's legal team have read our documentation, meanwhile we are now unable to put our own recorded music up on this page.

In the past few weeks Liam was asked by Alessandro Magnanini if he would like to take the lead vocal on three tracks for Alessandro’s latest album release.  Making the best use of the world wide web the backing music was sent over to Australia, and after a short time in the recording studio the vocals were returned to Italy.

Now the songs have been included on the album Someway Still I Do.

“The important international guest is Liam McKahey, frontman of the English band Cousteau, who has a stab at three songs too: at the ballad “Livin’ My Life”, which brings us back to the traditional jazz splendours of the New Orleans of the ‘30s; at “But Not For You”, with its involving bossa jazz; and finally at “Someway Still I Do”, which excels for its contrasting shades upon the voice of the Australian singer make us daydreaming.”

You can hear the full track Livin’ My Life on Alessandro’s own My Space page http://www.myspace.com/ilduka and the album can be downloaded from iTunes in most countries.

Nuova collaborazione di Liam McKahey
Nelle ultime settimane è stato chiesto a Liam McKahey, ex cantante dei Cousteau, di partecipare alla realizzazione di tre canzoni sul nuovo album di Alessandro Magnanini.
Alessandro Magnanini è l'autore del brano "This Is What You Are", portato al successo da Mario Biondi.

"But Not For You" con il suo ritmo Bossa Jazz
"Someway Still I Do", la canzone che da il nome all'album dove la musica a toni contrastanti unita alla voce di Liam ci fà sognare ad occhi aperti

L'album "Someway Still I Do" verrà distribuito a partire dal 13 novembre 2009 in Italia e successivamente in altri paesi, ma è già disponibile su  iTunes.

The UK Amazon store now has all three Cousteau albums for download, these are 256 kps quality MP3 files, album art is included with the purchase, and tracks are free of DRM.

The US store has Cousteau and Sirena for sale under the Cousteau group name, and Nova Scotia under the Moreau name (Amazon have erroneously listed some tracks under the name Carlos Moreau, they have been asked several times to amend this).

As with iTunes, you can only buy from the store for your country due to copyright reasons.
