Hello, everybody!

I hope you're all doing well and are getting ready for the holidays. I wanted to take a moment to let you know that "Hang On", the first single from my new album, will be released on January 27, 2009. I'm very excited about this -- this album has been a long time coming and has been the culmination of years of writing and recording. I think you all are going to love the song and album... expect many more singles to follow!

The single will be released on Amazon.com, iTunes, and every other major digital retailer. As a matter of fact, the song page is already up on Amazon.com:
http://www.amazon.com/Hang-On/dp/B001NTI55Y/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=dmusic&qid=1229907776&sr=8-6

I hope you'll purchase the song when it's released on January 29. I also hope that you'll have a wonderful holiday and a Happy New Year!

I'll talk to you all very soon!

Love,

-Brian Larsen

Hey everybody,

Only have a second -- just thought I would let you all know that my Official Blog is almost ready to premiere... it's going to feature stories, photos, videos (I just bought a new Flip Mino to use in addition to my camcorder), and various drunken rantings.

I'll let you guys know as soon as it goes live! Hope you're having a great weekend. Keep in touch... I love you guys!

Current mood:  cheerful
Hello good people of the world.

Whew, what a year -- I know I say this a lot, but where does the time go? It's almost Fall already... I have a forest in my backyard, and the leaves are starting to change into beautiful bright oranges, yellows, and reds. It makes sitting on my deck all the more enjoyable, although I'm not a big fan of the spiders that come down from the trees. Alas, I was never enough of a nature person.

So, you've all been asking me, "where the hell is the album," and my response to you is that it's coming -- I have been diligently rerecording, remixing, and in some cases, rewriting a number of songs for this album. Without a question, I have enough material to make this a double-disc, but since nobody buys double albums I'm going to release this as a single disc and hopefully release another album within a year after that one.

True to my promise almost a year ago, I'm planning on this being a "Brian Larsen" album rather than a Twilight's Moon album -- in the end, I don't think it really changes anything.

I don't have a release date set for the album or the first single yet. I can tell you, however, that I will be releasing a promo only single to radio later this month called "Take Your Time". This is an old cover song that I had been working on for a few years, and I finally got around to finishing it... it's a fun, short pop song with a very interesting (and slightly strange) solo. You can count on that being posted here on MySpace soon.

Look for videos of me in the studio (and just being me) to be posted soon... I'm going to be starting a vlog (a video blog), so you guys will be as up to date as possible on the new album and everything I'm doing.

I've got some other projects (including some TV stuff) that I'm working on that I will give you more information about soon. Also, there will also be a really cool contest for the upcoming album.

A lot of you have been asking if I can mail you an autograph. In the old days, I used to have a P.O. Box and people in the U.S. and Canada who managed my mail, but I've since gotten rid of the boxes. If you'd like me to send you an autograph, you can post the banner (from my MySpace page) onto your MySpace page or website, and/or undertake some other effort to get the word out about my stuff, and I'd be more than happy to get a signed photo out to you (please be patient, though, since I'm often traveling). Just send me a message (on MySpace) with your name and address and I'll get it taken care of.

That's it for now. Thanks for all of your love and messages. Keep in touch!

With love,

-Brian Larsen

Hello everyone,

How are things?

I am doing great! The album is coming along incredibly well. For me, the hardest part has been trying to pick just one album's worth of material to record. I'm really, really pleased with all of the demos I've made for this album.

Did you all catch the lunar eclipse last week? It was beautiful. How about the Clinton/Obama debates? Those were not quite as pretty. When will candidates start to debate about the issues of the world and not each other?

I got a message a few days ago from someone who wanted to tell me that there is a person on the internet questioning the authenticity of my record awards and they wanted to know if that upset me. Does it upset me? No, not at all. Honestly, I'm completely flattered that someone would spend their time and energy thinking about me in that much detail. I had no idea that I was that important. Still, there are just too many other important issues in this world to debate something silly like this, especially when it can be proven (see my comment about the political debates above).

So I choose one (my first, from something like five years ago) and took a picture of it. Count on the piracy-ridden RIAA to even put a serial number (1206136) on the hologram.

It's really not a very big deal at all – don't get me wrong, it's been an honor to receive every single one, but at the end of the day they're nothing more than plaques that hang on the wall in my studio. They don't make or break me or any other artist, nor do they help me sleep at night. That's what Ambien is for.

Love,

-Brian

First of all, I want to say that I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season -- that you take get some time off to yourselves to relax and enjoy everything.

I've gotten a lot more FAQ's... since I have a minute or two here, I decided to respond to a few.

-----

What do you think about your previous albums?
Well, my first album came out when I was 10 or 11 years old, my second when I was 12, my third when I was 13, etc. When I listen to those albums (which I try to do as little as possible), I hear what I sounded like at that time. Of course I'm going to cringe when I hear myself at 10 years old trying to play all the instruments on an album. Unfortunately, a lot of the people that hear my old stuff expect it to sound professional and crisp and end up disappointed that it doesn't match the sound of my more recent work. I think that every new album I made was an improvement over the last. I don't expect someone to tell me my old stuff is amazing. I look at it like this: instead of running around on the playground, I decided to try to make my own music... if nothing else, I guess that's pretty cool.

What do you do for fun?
I think I answered this before but here goes: I like to play corny sports like tennis and snowboarding. I like to cook. I like to play video games from time to time (I just got a Nintendo Wii on the black market!). Let see... I like to read about scientific stuff like biochemistry and pharmacology (not "street pharmacy"). With the exception of the science stuff, I suck at pretty much all the things I like to do in my personal life – I don't think I've ever cooked without burning something, I don't know that I've ever made it down a steep slope without falling on my ass, and most of my friends can beat me in tennis.

What are you like in real life?
That's a really hard question to answer. I guess I'm shy. I'm open and honest like I am in my so-called 'professional' life (what does a 'professional life' even mean?), but I think I also have a serious and quiet side. My friends and family well know that I express how I feel... sometimes it bothers people. Some people think I'm intense – I just do what feels natural to me.

Are you gay?
I swear, I've answered this too. Let me start by saying that I respect everyone. I have friends, family members, and business associates who are gay and I strongly support human rights and women's rights. Having said that, I am straight – sexual orientation is a personal choice we all make. There is no right or wrong… we are all in charge of our own lives. I know some entertainers who are offended by gay fans or listeners. I find that ridiculous. If I'm willing to put out scantily-clad pictures of myself, I don't care who looks at them, be it women, men, or animals. If someone enjoys my music or my image, that's great.

I saw you in person at [location], but I didn't want to come up to you.
Honestly, I don't mind at all if you say hi. It freaks me out when people get too excited or freaked out, but it's fine. If I look preoccupied or in a hurry, please don't have an hour long conversation with me… other than that, you're OK.

Do you have any pets?
I have a dog, a little Shih Tzu. Sometimes he drives me crazy, but he's cute. When I'm busy or away, I'll drop him off at my parent's house… I don't know if he knows which place is actually home. Oh, I almost forgot. I have this little thing that looks like a snow globe (it's called a bio-sphere or something like that) and it has a bunch of little shrimp in it. I guess that's considered a pet, too. I don't have any plants – I have a problem with accidentally killing plants. One time when I was a kid, I fed Fruit Loops to my Venus Fly Trap. Needless to say, it died.

I'll talk to you guys soon. I love you!

So I gave in and bought a Nintendo Wii this past weekend and now I've forgotten how to eat or sleep -- all I can do is play Wii.

But seriously, I have an important safety announcement for you all. The Nintendo Wii is NOT a four leaf clover holder. I'm so glad they put this notice in the Japanese Wii manual -- it's a damn shame it didn't make it into the U.S. manual, because it's already too late for mine.

Thank you for your time.

Hey guys,

I wanted to let you all know that I've uploaded all new recordings of three songs: "I Tried", "Goodnight", and "Slip Away". These songs were all previously released on my "In The Meantime" EP, but I've re-recorded the vocals and some of the instruments and completely remixed the tracks.

I decided to upload these new versions to hold you guys over while I get busy recording the songs for my next album. I plan on releasing my first single in December. You're going to love it! I'm very excited about this album.

Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Love,

-Brian

Hey guys --

For the first time in five years, I'm looking to form a recording/touring band. Although I'm considering some musicians that I've previously worked with, I think it's only fair to consider all talented artists who are looking for new opportunities.

In particular, I'm seeking a:
-Drummer
-Bassist
-Guitarist (comfortable with lead and/or rhythm)
and possibly a keyboardist.

If you would like to be considered, send a message through MySpace and it will be passed on to me. Be sure to have an .mp3 or other audio file either on your MySpace page or ready to be sent via e-mail.

You should be comfortable with your instrument, between 18 and 25 years old, and located somewhere in the area between Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

I look forward to hearing from you!
