Hey,

So..... we said a while ago that we were going to post up Hearts Of Palm as soon as we had it but plans have changed a bit.

We have started making plans to release a 7'' single of two of the tracks we recently recorded as part of our as of yet untitled second album and Hearts of Palm will be the A side. The B side will be a song we recorded up in Montreal this past April called Clarissa Explains it All.

We will be touring to support these so check back in for dates in the fall.

No fixed release yet but as soon as we have it we'll pass it right along.

Excited for you all to hear it.

Hey,

Last summer our friend Vincent at the German Skate/Snowboard video company Isenseven licensed our song "This Is Where We Are" for their new video of kids skating in New York. The video is up and we're really excited about how it looks. Check it out:

In other news the magazine "The Lifted Brow" from Australia has asked us for a new track for their "Musical Atlas Of The World" for an upcoming issue. We wrote and recorded a new song called "Hearts Of Palm". The magazine won't be out for a while but we will be putting it up online next week. It will fit well on your summer mix tapes.

Working on a bunch of other stuff. Expect videos and new pictures soon. Stay tuned! Hope you're all well.

Hey,

Spring has come to New York! One day it pours, the next it's warm, and we've been busy as usual.

Here's what's happening:

1. We've written and recorded the first part of what will hopefully be our next album. We went up to Montreal about a month ago and went into the Hotel2Tango with Howard Bilerman (who did our first album) and Larry Crane (who runs Tape Op magazine and has worked with Elliott Smith, Sleater Kinney, Jenny Lewis, The Decemberists, Quasi and many others) and got the first group of songs down.

2. We signed a deal with Rough Trade Publishing to help us get more lisencing opportunities. Hopefully this will put some money in our pockets and enable us to head out on tour in Europe and the UK soon.

3. We're bringing some new tunes to Joe's Pub here in New York this saturday 5/30 and would love to see you there. The show is for musicsnobbery.com and we will be playing with Mia Riddle at 11 pm.

4. We videotaped rehearsal before we went up to Montreal and will be posting a video of our new song "Night" soon so stay tuned.

Hope you're all doing well.

Hey,

It's coming to the close of another year and it has been a crazy one for us here in New York. First of all we wanted to say thanks to everyone who came to see us play, bought albums, wrote about us, emailed us, called radio stations to request our songs and generally put good vibes in our direction.

We are currently working on demos for our next album which we're going up to Montreal to start recording with Howard Bilerman in April. Howard as you may know did our first record and we're really excited to work with him again.

We'll be putting up some demos of new songs as they come so keep checking in. If you can't wait that long we'll be performing live on the Irene Trudel show on WFMU Monday January 26th. Tune in if you like.

We're taking a brief rest from serious touring but will be doing intermittent shows so stay tuned to our myspace page for dates and announcements and we'll give you all a heads up.

So raise your glasses to another year. We'll be thinking of you all. Much love and good vibes.

Chances are you are hearing our music for the first time and have come to us by way of the awesome and nebulous "human communication train"

If you like us and you think friends in your city might too drop us a line!

The Ravens and Chimes debut record is now complete. Well, the recording is at least. Asher Came back from Montreal last week with the fully mastered CD, complete with new mixes of General Lafayette and The House Where You Were Born - both of which will probably be up on Myspace soon. The next step will be artwork, CD pressing, touring, getting big, rehab, breaking up, and then reunion tour. Am I getting ahead of myself?

If you want to hear the record and you live in New York, drop one of us a line and we'll come to your house and play the CD for you. We'll even bring take-out food.

You can read a quick review of our Fat Baby CMJ show at www.thedelimagazine.com. Or you can look below:

"After this gig, headed to The Cake Shop, I decided to stop at Fat Baby - a venue I kind of overlooked up until then. There I was introduced to a NYC band I wasn't aware of: Ravens and Chimes, who play a..multi-faceted indie pop with (again) an orchestral edge - piano and flute were the signature tones in this circumstance. The band has some pretty diverse material, ranging from frantic spaz-rock tunes to mellow and sparse love ballads."
