Current mood:  sad
Hi Sailors,

It is with great sadness that i announce that our bass player Ross Johnston has tragically passed away in a terrible felching accident...oh shit no wait im sorry that was my dream last night. Err yes anyway it is with great sadness that i announce that our bass player and best friend Ross Johnston has decided to leave Newbridge Downfall.

Why! i hear you cry...actually it was only Tom Clayton who asked, basically Ross and his partner Natasha are having a baby boy in March! this is fantastic news but unfortunatley Ross feels that because of this and related factors he feels like he cannot commit to the band anymore.

We completely support his decision and cant begin to imagine the thrills and spills of the journey in Fatherhood he is soon about to undertake, and wish him every luck and success for the future. Its always hard when someone leaves a band but the very fact that we have been playing together for so many years through all the highs and lows and still remain the very best of friends is a testament to the character of the man. Ross will always be a part of this band in one way or another and he will be greatly missed by all of us.

Anyway, as for the future things are looking really exiting. We are on the literal verge of releasing our debut album 'Reprisals and Regrets' on Bells On Records, and we have a very good friend lined up to take over bass duties and fill Ross' considerable shoes. We have a show with Failsafe and Death Defying Life in York on 12th November and even hope to have our newbie in place by then!

Keep your eyes on the prize and increase the peace yo

Current mood:  happy
We've been very busy boys lately!! We've just finished playing our first few shows since coming back with our new drummer Connor and i think we all agree it's gone rather swimmingly. At the minute we're writing a couple of new songs which will no doubt be ready for our next show thats booked with the mighty This is a Standoff. We will be looking for as many shows as possible before that time though.
Since then it's got better and we've announced that we will be in the studio at the end of June to record our first full length album which will be released by Bells On Records of Japan. We're currently in the process of arranging artwork for the album and you'll soon start to see changes to the page with new photos etc.
We've also just recently found out that the wonderful Chris Catero Director of artist relations for Krank amplification will be offering Newbridge Downfall an endorsment, something of which we're very very appreciative of!! Hopefully if secured in time, we'll have them for the recording of the album.
So keep an eye out, stay sexy.
Just remember, I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

Hello,
Just to let you know, our first gig back is going to be on Friday 13th March at Newcastle Carling Academy with UK Ska-Punk legends [spunge] !
yes i cant quite believe they're still going either
Anyway, if you'd like to go we have unlimited reduced price list places which will get you into the show for £5 on the door.
So if you'd like to come then send us a message on here and we can add you to the list, then when you go the gig just say your name at the door and you'll get in for cheaper, and as Larry David would say thats pretttyyyy prettyyyy prettyyyyyy good.
Also, we're going to have some of the newer demos for sale that we never got round to making in 2007...yes thats when you were listening to My Chemical Romance and not Terror
Cheers brahs

Current mood:  tired

Okay we'll we havent really done anything since mid-2007 cos I (James) and Jonny left the band and we've all been off and done our own things and now we wanna pick up where we left off.

So we're looking for a new drummer, obviously going from our songs on the page we play pretty fast, so if you cant play double time then you're not for us sorry...and it would help if you had good gear and it would be amazing if you had your own transport but thats not essential.

So yeah if you're interested and would like to try us out send us a message on here, or if you know anyone that might fit the bill please let them or us know! cheers

Our last demo we didnt really make any proper copies of so we're going to get some proper artwork done and start distributing them so that should be available in the next few weeks, but dont expect any shows for a while its probably going to be the back end of 2009 before any of that lark.

Thanks for reading anyway, see you soon

Right well where to start really..

Just to clear everything up, Newbridge Downfall have not split up, we know theres a rumour going around about it and its understandable as unfortunately Jim and Jonny have decided to leave the band with immediate effect. We're not going to give up that easily!

Jonny (the drummer) has decided to concentrate on his original band Uni Wrong as he felt he didn't really have the time or energy to commit to both bands.

Jim has decided to leave for various reasons, maybe to go down another road musically or to give himself for free time over the summer - Who knows.

As a result of this we've had to cancel any gigs/tours that have already been booked and appologise to any promotors for letting you down if i haven't managed to inform you about not being able to play the gig. It's hard to keep track of anything that was booked months ago!!

On a brighter note we're booked in to record our album for release on Bells On Records in Japan in October with the help of a few friends and an amazing drummer. We can't wait!

Once the album is released we'll back doing shows around November time and hopefully a UK tour along the way to promote the album etc so keep a look out!!

I'd like to take this oppotunity to thank Jonny and Jim for their efforts towards the band and wish them all the best for the future. We couldn't have did it without them.

Cheers
