what the deuce am i going to read? the new stuff is moody & weird, and the funny stuff is all pretty old. argh. i might have to flip some coins and roll some dice here!

my life is about to become super intense. i mean, i'm ALWAYS thinking about the band, always taking notes, always puttering and brainstorming and emailing. but now i have three weeks to become awesome at both singing & playing guitar. i have three weeks to increase my lung capacity and arm strength so that i can play much faster while bouncing around.
 
the next three weeks are going to be like training for a marathon. my entire life is going to be on hold. i have many friends i haven't seen in months, and likely won't until mid-april. but that's okay. i am finally ready to rock. full tilt, full blast, 100% crazed adrenaline whiplash insanity.
 
an hour of exercise plus an hour of rehearsal every day, on top of band practice. yes. it's time.

look out. and prepare to be entertained.

it's been almost a year since i've posted here. what's up? HIGH HEELS LO FI http://www.myspace.com/highheelslofi we have a huge gig on sun. oct. 26th and really need an audience... we're playing six 3-song sets from 1:30 to 6:30 - every hour on the half hour. please come on out to canzine and have an amazing time! it's the best place to check on the entire indie scene of toronto in one afternoon.

so it's all i can think about, yet i can't talk about it except to the rest of the team, and of course my darling mike.

 

but i want to scream it from the rooftops and tell the world - i'm starting something new and dangerous and this is totallly foolish because i have NO idea what i'm doing and yet here i am taking on a new creative project and i hope beyond all hope that it turns out well....

 

i don't know when i can tell you all. i don't know how these things work. i have to make sure that everything is cranking along before i can admit it. hmm. it's quite insane. i love it.

 

and in other news, i'm totally kicking at tonight's jeopardy.

- ton of work for an ongoing team project
- writing & painting & knitting is a constant
- still trying to declutter the art room in small steps
- oh yeah... about 6 months to the wedding! much planning still to do

so... um.... it's a great time to start a completely wild, life consuming new art project in a totally unknown and unnerving medium, right?

and naturally, it must be kept top secret for several months, so i can't even explain why i'm so freaked out from joy and potential i could bounce up and down forever.

please be sure to stay tuned. things are about to get impossibly interesting....

holidays: M & i had our parents over for lunch last weekend. i knit scarves for the moms, and we received perfect little gifts like books, a beautiful calendar, warm socks. we're spending the holidays on our couch with cosy blankets watching the extended remix of Lord of the Rings, having turkey, wine, and good chocolate.
no malls, no screaming kids, no stress, no wasting money, no crappy plastic waste that goes directly to landfill.

art: have finally cleared up the art room so that i have room to paint again. good grief.

crafts: went through my yarn stash and actually sorted it! am giving away two grocery bags of yarn through freecycle.

spoken word: i'm performing at the Diamond Cherry holiday whoosit on Dec. 20th. i *think* i have a few pieces sort of keeping in the theme. Renaissance Cafe, 1938 Danforth, 8pm.

other: there *might* be a new creative project in the works. this is the worst possible time to take on new projects (with there being a little wedding in 6 months), therefore i just know that this project will fly. murphy's law on crack.
