It's time talk about how excellent Christmas break is.

If you're in school, break is like one huge deep sigh when you just...don't...think.  For three weeks I can stop writing 3 papers per night and not fall asleep stressing about the 500 things I have to do in the next week.  It's brief but satisfying.

Christmas break brings loved ones back for a visit:  fun people you went to high school with and family members you may or may not like (no matter).

Christmas break also means long and fullfilling movie/TV on dvd marathons.  This could include musicals, multiple theater visits in one day, or watching shows for 5 hours straight.  Who cares what it is as long as it's anything but homework.

Let's not forget the biggest even of the year...my birthday!  Yep, on the 21st I'll be 21.  My golden b-day.  Don't worry, I'm not party girl.  I mainly just like the idea of being able to tell people that I'm an official "adult."

Oh, there's Christmas and New Year's Eve, too.  Those two days are also fabulous.

There are just too many grand things to count.  So, anyone else ready for a break?

Current mood:  thankful

I've seen alot of cats lately.  There was one walking by the front of our door the other night.  I yelled "kitty, kitty" quite a few times-it just kept running.  I wonder why-there's no way I could have scared it with my shrieking!

Then on campus last week I saw another one.  It was just there.  Nothing special.  Lastly, I always see Midnight, the "church cat."  He/she always hangs out around my church every week.  I think he/she is possibly 75 years old because everyone remembers him/her.  I actually have no idea.

The other week our weird neighbor lady was sitting in front of our door with her 2 birds.  I had no clue what was going on until I looked out the window after I heard this high pitched "Oh, you such a cute burdie!"  There were also other disturbing noises and cooing.  She left eventually, but it's still a mystery to me.

I like strange stories.  Don't you?

Current mood:  giddy

Guess what? I finally bought an iPod.  I'm quite pleased at its amazing capabilities.  It's a 30G, so it can hold up to 7,500 songs.  At this point I have 10.45 gigs of space filled.  It can also store all my photos as well as any music videos or TV episodes (like Lost) I purchase from iTunes.

I named it DJ Junior.  It's sleek, black, and powerful.  Similar to Batman.  It's my new technological love.  I think I'm going to go admire it right now.

Thanks for reading and be sure to check out my new picachure featuring DJ Junior!

Current mood:  annoyed

Recently, the residents living above my apartment have been extremely loud for no apparent reason.  Usually on Saturday and Sunday afternoons they cause annoying, repetitive "thuds" above my room.  These thuds continue for hours upon hours.  At times I have sat on my bed waiting for the next group of thuds...and of course, they come.  Could they be dropping shoes every 30 seconds?  Jumping up and down?  Throwing objects at the carpet?  I have absolutely no idea.

Many a time my roommate tells me of random noise they make while she is alone during the evening.  Sometimes it sounds like they push chairs around for fun...or stomp back and forth...or allow a herd of buffalo to gallup through their hallway.  Whatever.

Anyway, today we decided that we were quite fed up with hearing their constant conmmotion after a man began playing his guitar and singing BADLY in the kitchen above us.  (And by fed up I mean irrate.)  So, this is what we did.  First we took the top of a broomstick and raked it back and forth across the air vents at the top of the walls.  While doing this, we screamed very loudly "AHHHHHH" or "SHUUUUT UUUUP."  As my roommate bestoyed the noisy terror of the broomstick, I ran through the rest of our apartment and slammed every door closed.  Lastly, we both make racket in our kitchen.

At this point, we waited silently for them to respond or stop their noise.

Instead they made even more noise to combat our attempts.  And, apparently they purposely knocked on counters and threw chairs around on thier kitchen floors while I was gone again.

All I have to say now is...it's soooo on.  Here begins the War of the Floors.

I've been listening to Kanye West the last couple of days in anticipation for his 2nd album coming out the 30th.  The more I listen to him rap, the more I just want to bust my own rhymes!  If you read the following, I'm sure you'll agree:

Celli' ringin', Ima blingin'
but ain't got no ice,
L-town, southside
ain't no place for flippin' lice!
Holla, I'm out!

Ice and lice-it doesn't get much more difficult I'd say.

Also, school is monday and I've been in denial this week.  Although I do get moderately excited when I buy school supplies or purchase another track jacket.   Maybe I'll carry a lunchbox this year...or maybe I'll get kicked in the neck.

Okay now everyone needs to comment on Tommy Lee Goes to College.  Making fun of a smelly metal drummer is certainly great for UNL (sarcasm).  Continue...

Here's some stuff:

Buying groceries is always a weird experience for me.  I usually have to dodge middle-aged woman coming out of an aisle.  The last two times I went to put my cart at the end of the belt so I could load my food up, an old couple felt the need to leave their cart in the exact wrong place so I had absolutely no room.  How kind of them.

On the 3rd of July I tore open a teddy bear and stuffed it full explosives and soaked it in flammable cleaner.  It was on fire.
On the 4th of July a parachute exploded in my face.  I was not on fire.

I've decided that I'm going to collect vinyl.  So far I have:  The Best of Blondie, Blondie; Make It Big, Wham!; Thriller, Michael Jackson; FlashdanceWar, U2.  Next I'm looking for Duran Duran and Madonna, maybe some Nirvana if it's not too expensive.  Any suggestions?

I think I might start blogging more since it's summer now.  I'm not even sure if anyone cares to read these, though.  But, whatever, here I go.  I feel I must list things that I love about summer:

REALLY late nights, garage sales, seeing people again who were away at college, hairless legs (particularly mine), air conditioning, popsicles, the anticipation of waiting for Lost to begin again, playing extremely great music in my car while driving over the speed limit, hanging w/ new friends I've recently made, and basically the lack of responsibility I'm allowed to have for so very few months.

Crap.  Real life is not 8 months of class and 4 months of freedom.  In all honesty, I've come realize that I'm actually pretty content as a college student. It suits me. I like staying up late, I like serving people for a "living," and basically doing whatever the heck want, within reason though, b/c I have to remember I'm an unofficial adult.

I'm starting a new thing called "Profound U2 Lyric of the Blog."  Read below and ponder.

So it's my second day of spring break and I'm not really sure what to do. Should I be a good student and read ahead and do all my work tonight? Nope! I refuse, because, dag nabit, I'm on stinking spring break. But, sadly, it's something like 40 degrees outside. Not so spring-like. I did some laundry, I think I'll clean my fish bowls, and then I dunno. I have so much free time that I'm currently typing way more than I ever have on this blog thing. I'm open to suggestions, please!
