...for those who remember...
Deep Cover Movement began in 1999 by rallying up potential artists. Not only was the plan to expose Drum n Bass artist, but to expose art as a whole. Events that were held incorporated a variety of art work including: music, paintings & drawings, sculptures, performance art and more. These shows were created to promote an act of art with a deeper sense of repect, integrity, and dignity.
Deep Cover Movement’s first event was in August of the year 1999. The title given to this event was "BE", with one of the leading names in the DnB industry, John B (U.K.).
The second gathering DCM held was named "BE HERE", and promoted the acts of Dom & Roland, Fierce, and Alley Cat.
The third and most successful show thrown by Deep Cover Movement was "BE HERE NOW" with more than one thousand heads thumping to the sounds of Technical Itch & Decoder along w/ MC Jr. Blind and the re-uniting of John B.
Now Deep Cover was known for the "BE" parties and began not only to be recognized nationaly but recognized worldwide as one of the top DnB promotional companies that hold professional, well known, blow out performance acts. --those who were there would tell you the same, there was nothing like it.
The next plan was what to do now? Ahh...how about plan b? Sounded great to the Movement crew so why not hold the next event under the name of "PLAN B". Now came the first flaw with the anxiety of Trace’s apperance...but no Trace. Thankfully Fierce made his call and saved the night with an unforgettable performance.
Halloween was now approaching in the year 2000 and to continue the "BE" tradition DCM named the next event "BE WHERE" with an absolutly insane lineup! On the decks was the phenominal Skunk Rock Tour including: Alley Cat, Daniel Savine, Digital & Spirit, and a special appearance by TEE BEE!! This was another spectacular event that was incredible.
The next DnB tour that was strolling through the U.S. the very next month was the S Files Tour showing the talents of DJ SS & MC Warren G, and Twisted Individual. DCM also decided to host the 2Tuff crew including Stress & Slant.
The next and last event hosted by Deep Cover Movement was in the summer of 2001. The Movement crew knew this was the last event for a while so they asked John B to come back since that was the first artist that came for the Movement. The show was awesome and ended the spree with a bang.
During this time Deep Cover Movement was hosting local dj shows. For quite sometime they were called the Movement at Dobies which were held every other Sunday and attracted huge crowds all night long. Some were random weeknights and weekends ranging from coffeshops & restaraunts to outdoor pavillions.
...for those who remember...we thank you.
