Johnny Adkins, age 47, of Indianapolis, died Saturday, September 12, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital Beech Grove. Born March 21, 1962, he was the son of Hubert Thomas Adkins and Brenda (Clark) Adkins. On June 10, 1983 in Indianapolis, he married Elizabeth “Lisa” Sipes. Johnny was known by his friends as the “Teddy Bear”. He played drums in numerous bands since 1982 and was one of the founding members of the band “Peace Train” until 2003. Johnny loved the Indianapolis Colts, Nascar Racing and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was also a great lover of pets and is survived by his dog Scooby and cat Peyton. Survivors include his wife, father & Step-mom Bonnie Adkins, his mother, his mother-in-law Sandra Durham; three brothers, Jr. Adkins, Kennith Adkins and Donny Fluty; two sisters, Patricia (Kenna) Owens and Kathy (John) Haver. Johnny is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
