#1 - December
This is Ruddinn's effort for Icelandic radio 2, Ras2 yearly Xmas song contest. The song didn't make it into the 10 song selection that managed to cut the barrier.
This song features singer Lilja Björg Eiríksdóttir but olde Ruddinn has a few lines a well.


#2 - Fiskurinn "Fish"
Just a very old song from the pre-Ruddinn vaults.  This was originally done on Amiga 8 channel tracker called Oktalyzer but redone in EZ-Vision.  The first original is from 1993 but this version is from 1996.  Recorded on 4 track Yamaha minidisc recorder that was way cool 12 years ago.

#3 - Silence of society
Also a pre-Ruddinn effort with a few mates, Gunnar and Soulviper.  Soulviper on vocals. Track from around 2004 with vocals regarding the hardship of being a single dad or weekend dad.  


..Still working on a few songs and there might be some new collaboration on the way on a few numbers.

My good friend Jed Stephens has uploaded a remix of ..Love Letter...  Both the original and Jed's remix will be on Ruddinn next album.  

Jed of Bass bandits has a new Myspace dedicated for his remix work.  He has remixed a few tracks for me and also for various other bands.

..Things are progressing well with the 3rd album.  5 tracks are fully completed, 3 are at completion stage, 3 well in progress plus there are some 3 remixes that will be as bonus stuff on the CD.
My focus now is to complete vocal takes for 'Blizzard' and 'Illusions'.  I will be going to north of Iceland to a farm house for 3 days to record vocals.  Will be good to scream out in different place than my studio.

Ruddinn was played again among other fine artists in the Waxdolly podcast, presented this week by Jed Stephens.

Jed played Ruddinn's "If you have a wish" which is a brand new track, - only back from mix and mastering last week.

The track features the vocals of Heiða from Hellvar and also my vocals. As with most of my material if was mixed and mastered in Greece by George Kant at Virtual Sound Studios.

Uploaded "Krossgötur" which is Ruddinn's effort for Ras2 (Iceland Radio 2) competition for "Song for the new republic of Iceland after we catapulted ourselves back to the Stone-age" or something in that direction. The track which is based on "Cross section" didn't make it to the selected 10-12 tracks but I participated for fun. Ran out of time to fully complete it so maybe a halfbaked effort.

"Too distant for us" managed to reach number #28 on the national chart on Ras2 which is the best (or only) commercial success for Ruddinn yet.

I might be able to preview soon a batch of new songs that are on the finishing stage.

The song was done by Ruddinn and Jed Stephens the bassman and Heiða from Hellvar wrote the lyrics and delivered them.
 

I have just uploaded a new track "Too distant for us" in 2 versions, remix & original and I even thrown in a video for the song.
"Too distant for us" was co-written by Ruddinn and Jed Stephens.  Heiða from Hellvar did the lyrics and took care of the song.  
Emmi Kalinen did the video with help from  Soulviper.

This song was done during same time as "I need a vacation" in Ruddinn's studio.  Heida sang there and Jed contributed bass for the track.  The people in the video are Emmi..s parents and the base for the video was shot in Finland.

Big thanks to Jed, Heida, Emmi & Soulviper for their efforts. 

I have just uploaded a remix of "Supersonic Situation"

This remix is done by a friend of mine, Jed Stephens of Bass bandits.  Soulviper is on the vocals.

 

Lakeland Records have just put out a new compilation album

Chapter Two Promo CD

and Ruddinn has a track on it.  "Anyway you want it".   That song will be on the next Ruddinn album this spring both in English and Icelandic vocal versions.  There are 20 artists in total contributing on the album.
