From today's Staten Island Advance AWE:
MUSIC: Making some noise by AWE staff Thursday July 24, 2008, 1:00 AM
If you happened to be surfing the radio waves last Wednesday between 4 and 7 p.m., you may have stumbled across something peculiar: Music by -- gasp -- local bands! Yep, that's right.
A collaboration between AWE music guy Ben Johnson and Vin Forte at WSIA (88.9 FM, wsia.csi.cuny.edu) has resulted in the creation of a weekly radio show that plays local bands of all shapes, sizes and sounds.
Want to be heard? Keep sending Ben your recordings at the Advance, so he can review them in OnTheDownload, or pass them on to "The Mighty Vin" at WSIA Radio, 2800 Victory Blvd, College of Staten Island Building 1C, Room 106.
