PROTOTYPE recently finished recording drum tracks for their new album with producer Neil Kernon (Nile, Cannibal Corpse, Queensryche) in ....Los Angeles.....  The currently untitled album is scheduled for release in 2010 via Nightmare Records.

Just a note to let everyone know that we're actively working on the next release which we hope will be available for all beginning of next year.  It's taken a while to get here but with the return of Pat to the Prototype fold we're happy to see better traction towards completion of the monster that is the next record.

We'll update you more as developments happen.

Seven years after parting ways with PROTOTYPE in 2002, Pat Magrath (ex-Killing Kulture, ex-Steel Prophet) returns to the drum throne for the Los Angeles based progressive thrash band.  Guitarist Kragen Lum commented, “We are stoked to have Pat playing with us again!  His performance on our ‘Trinity’ album was repeatedly praised by both fans and reviewers, and it’s been great working with him again.  We’d also like to thank Nic Ritter for his drum work on our 2008 pre-production demo.  His tour schedule is packed with Warbringer through the end of the year and we wish him all the best with the new album and tours.”

Currently in pre-production, PROTOTYPE is working on its third full-length effort.  Demo samples of 4 songs can be heard on their Myspace site www.myspace.com/prototypeonline.

We've uploaded two more new tunes for you to check out.  They are Cynic Dreams and The Ageless Heart Of Memory.  Continuing in the vein of the other two we posted, they are part of a larger concept that will be formed into our new release.  Again, these are DEMO versions of the tunes, not any sort of final recordings.

Over the last few months we've been working diligently on some new PROTOTYPE material and we finally have something to play for you all...

With the addition of drummer Nic Ritter to the fold we've recorded pre-production demos of some new songs, the first of which you can now listen to on the PROTOTYPE MySpace page!  This song is called "Chosen Ones" and it is part of a larger concept we've put together for our new album, which will hopefully be recorded and released early next year.

There are three more demo tunes we'll be releasing within the next couple of weeks so check back often for more music.

Everyone please welcome Nic Ritter to the Prototype fold as our new drummer!
Nic has been working with us for the last 6-8 months or so and is
responsible for the drum tracks on our new 4 song pre-production demo 
as we begin preparing for the next album.

You may see a press release soon about Nic playing with another band 
in the coming weeks.  To minimize confusion, we want to let you all 
know ahead of time that he is in both bands and still a member of 
Prototype.  We can't tell you the name of the other band at this time 
as it hasn't been made official yet.

You'll be hearing Nic's work with Prototype in just a few weeks as we near
the mixing phase of the demo songs and will share them with you ASAP!!!
