knowing then it was for the duldrums of winter

that gray time up as

colors wash together and wash out.


Now home to the red sun line

knowing, feeling

day walkers on a walk a day


jump together and set

to comfort and make visible

all they’re chattering about.

and begins again

flowers from your mouth
and sweet breath from your nose
and spring buds tickling
closed eyes and smile

and compounding

with the sun and delicious wind
your chest pounding
an earthquake
mine pumping a universe quake!

rift in time

if I were but a drop

now
and drip and drip again
a stream
where we could spend any now as
long as we're both there

out into these open spaces

seem the same
