Talk about me and my hair-brained schemes...

As most of you know, XTC is probably one of me and Danny's favorite bands ever. Well, another friend of mine-Zak Schaffer (who is also a huge xtc fan) -and I have always talked about doing a "residency" at the Kibbutz room. Except, instead of once a week, we want to only do one a month.

Here's the catch.....instead of playing each other's original material, we would cover a classic album that we love and adore, from start to finish.

Well.....a couple weeks ago Zak mentioned to me that he had an open date for the Kibbutz room, and I said, "that's it dude, we're doing it--BLACK SEA-start to finish."

I roped Danny into it, and Zak roped in his good friend Joe Ongie.

Here's the "cast":

We are only playing the "original" song lineup...so for you purists out there...that means no "smokeless zone" "love at first sight" "don't lose your temper" or "somnabulist"....sorry guys. ( there's only so much material we can learn in one rehearsal.)

Anyway, we'll be videotaping for posterity and if any of it comes out good you'll see it posted here.

WOW!

Last night we had the distinct pleasure of hearing our song "You're Just Lonely" blasting out of the TV on MEN IN TREES.

Usually, with TV, music is mixed really low and you barely make out what the song is. But this time....BAM!!!! LOUD AND PROUD!!!!

Our thanks to our friends Tricia and Susan who helped get us this incredible oppurtunity!

Well, we just found out late yesterday that our song "You're Just Lonely" from our new record GOODBYE WORLD will be featured in tonight's episode of MEN IN TREES on ABC at 10pm.

It's a new show with Anne Heche and we have no idea what it's about, or what the scene is going to be like.....but we'll be tuning in!

In case you didn't know, here's the news......

The LAVA LOUNGE, an old HOLLYWOOD staple as far as little dive bars goes, will be closing it's doors to live music at the end of February!

However, before they do, theSHEERS will be rocking the place to it's foundation by bringing their brand of indie-pop to it's small (very small) stage.

We will be going on around 10ish on Tuesday, February 6th. The parking is 3 bucks I think, but there is usually plenty of street parking.

Bring your "other" for a pre-valentine's day drink. Meet your friends for a little TIKI juice. Or, just come out to hear the band!
