It's day 1!!

On waking up this morning, i didn't feel particularly different than i do any other morning - but today is different!

Today was the day, that instead of going into the kitchen and rolling a cigarette, i jumped straight into the bath, had a soak and then got out, dried of and stuck on my nicotine patch.

I have done this before of course, but i must admit, before i wasn't committed to it - this time, strangely i am. This time i actually want to give up - on my previous attempts, i have been badgered into it. I finally made the conscious decision to give up, it's time for me to throw away my lighters and ashtrays.

I don't know if i will succeed, but this time i feel different about the whole thing. So over the next days and weeks, you can all join me in my effort to give up the antisocial habit that has been part of my life for years.

It'll help knowing i can write things down, wether they be amusing, crabby or even raging! Lol

But i have to say, half way through day 1 - it's going quite well!

Dear Blog, i am bored!!

The housework is done (including ironing!! Bloody hell i hear u cry in astonishment!) The cat is fed, and is now fat and full on her bed, Hubby is fed and watching a dvd, and i am sat here typing this.

After last night's festivities (see blog below) i think Seanie is feeling a little worse for wear (he walked home like a crab - sideways and hitting a few walls etc) So what are everybodys plans for the weekend? Ours are the usual - Work! Aaaarrgh!

So i have no choice, i am going to have to play with my profile again - oh, in case u didn't know, i added some new pics today!

You all have a good day, and i hope to be chatting to some of you soon. . . . . before boredom sets in too deeply!! Lol

Happy Birthday John!! You made it to 36!!

Well everyone today is my brother's birthday! (you probably already guessed that by the title of this blog!)

John's birthday is special - not only is he the best brother a girl could wish for, he is also the best dad! - just a shame that his ex girlfriend seems to forget that John's birthday actually exists - which i think is very sad. John has never received a birthday card from his son - a son who he idolises.

Well this year, he will get that card!! Maybe not from his son, but from me, which tells him he is the worlds greatest dad - it's sent with feeling from a sister who knows what joy his son brings to him.

Also on a more personal note, me and my brother used to fight like cat and dog - in 2002 he was assaulted and we nearly lost him, i'll never forget seeing him wired up to machines and monitors. So now we don't fight anymore, i'm just happy that he fought his way back and is still here among us, sharing the joys and pains of life.

John, I salute you! You are the worlds best Brother! Have a good one, and for once, the drinks are on me!! Lol

Well all i can say is. . . . .

Oh bollox!! Tonight went a bit tits up! We lost 5-2 still in Runners Up spot tho - I might even have a little drinkie on finals night! Lol

Well here it is!!

After 5 months, here we are at the end of the season! 3 old birds and me! and it looks like we'll be getting a trophy at the end of the season too - which is amazing really cos the 3 old girls are always pissed! Lol

I think a 4-3 win should do it, so, wish us luck!

And for my nightowl/US friends - i'll be home at about 11.30!

Right, now as mentioned in previous blogs, i love to chat! I've been looking at my friendslist and out of the 22 friends that i have, i speak to 5 regularly, these are lovely people and i love chatting with them.

But what about the other 17? If you aren't going to chat, please don't add me!

Hey all!

Well monday has trundled around again! And that means it's payday! Woohoo!

This week i'll be starting a group, basically it'll be just a chit-chat forum - I hope some of you will come and join me in Tracey's Front Room! Lol

The weather is slightly changeable at the moment, so no doubt i'll have plenty of time for chatting! But then, i always have plenty of time for chatting, it's one of my favourite pastimes!

Also this week a hunt for a little friend for Spud will begin! We are looking for a new kitten to keep her company - mind you i'm expecting all hell to let loose when we get one, Spud is a very affectionate cat, i'm not sure if she'll like a new cat in her territory.

If you have introduced a new pet, please let me know how it went! I don't really want bloodshed on my parquet floor! Lol

Evening all!

Well tonight has been really fun! I play darts in a local ladies league. I'm the baby of the team at 33, the others are Lynne - 45, Viv - 61 and my Mum - 61. As usual they had a good drink! Lol

We arrived at the pub early, 1st round 3 house voddies for the girls - a diet coke for me. 1st game Lynne lost 2-0, Second game i lost 2-1, third game at about 9pm a slightly pissed up Viv won 2-0, Fourth game, Mum lost 2-0. So u get the picture, we were getting well beaten.

Then we moved on to the doubles fifth game Lynne and i won 2-0, Sixth game Viv (very wobbly now) and Mum won 2-1. Then there was the decider - the team game.

Well we had a slow start, the other team need 4 to win - we needed 246!! We had no chance - or so you might think! After splitting the 4 and ending up on the dreaded double 1, we were able to catch up! And won!!

I never thought we'd manage it, because after 4 rounds the girls were well wankered! Viv admitted freely she couldn't see the board, Mum fell over the oche and Lynne bless her had a very bad case of hiccups and flatulence! The landlord had taken to calling me knickers (because i kept saying it when i missed my doubles!) It was one of the best and funniest darts nights we have ever had.

Hi all!

Well i've just filled out one of those survey thingies that go on the profiles, the last question really got me thinking about regrets etc.

Have you ever made a decision that you really regretted? something that you think wasn't such a big thing at the time, but turned out to be a real mistake?

When i got married it was a lovely day, everything went really smoothly, but it had already been arranged that on the top table, we would have my parents, Seans parents, best man and bridesmaid on the top table - sticking with tradition of course. I didn't want to hurt my mum by asking if Iris could sit there too with my dad. So we kept it as it was. Sadly, Iris died just 8 days after the wedding, I never got to say goodbye to this great lady who had made my dad so happy, and in my own way, i did love her, i just didn't want mum to think i was pushing her out you know?

So that goes down as my biggest regret, sure i've made mistakes, and although it seemed small at the time, it seems a lot bigger to me now.

RIP Iris, from an unworthy stepdaughter who did love you - but was just crap at showing it xxxxx
