Category: Romance and Relationships
Hey you!
Okay, I know... it's been a while since you heard from us, but there is a pretty good excuse!
We've had some serious diaper issues; both Marius and Marlon have become father... Marius has had a wonderful baby boy and Marlon a beautiful baby girl. So you see, that has kept them rather busy and up at night... lol...
Apart from that, we did find time to do what we love most and had a couple of fabulous gigs with the famous American band The Perfect Tool. We truly had a blast, not only cause of the fantastic venues (thanks to TIRR Agency!!), but it also turned out those douche bags in The Perfect Tool are quite fabulous guys! Meanwhile, we've spend some days in the studio, recording our own songs, old & new ones, with Terry Bogus (the Fake No More alter ego, or vice versa...) with Mr. Lens. I'm pretty sure you're going to like the outcome and it never ceases to amaze me, the amount of world famous celebrities Sven works with and knows...
And of course we did go see Faith at the Lowlands festival, since Mr. Gould himself so graciously invited us. It was my very first time to see "our" band live and loved it! Now I also realize what you guys in the audience have to endure when we torture you... lmao... Anyway, the meet and great was not as simple as we planned, since the FNM tour management was not aware we had an invitation and security was tighter then a virgin's butt... So after a lot of back and forth, Billy came to collect us and we had a great talk and shot some pics for the family album! (Thank you kindly Bill)
Behind the scenes, planning the future of Fake is in full progress; TIRR Agency is really growing and expanding it's network. Slowly but surely the European tour is taking shape, but it won't be until January-February 2010. In the meantime we're trying to fit in a couple of mini tours in the UK before the end of the year, since we keep getting your requests (love you so much!!). You also will be seeing us in a package concert with Chained aLice (Alice In Chains) and Five Horizons (Pearl Jam), so make sure to keep at least one eye on the schedule. And you know what... if FNM really decides to NOT play the STATES at all... we just have to fly over and give you the next best thing!
MySpace friends...
Just want to say, make sure to hook up at our concerts! We get the nicest comments afterwards, but we also love to meet you in the flesh and have a chat before or after the gig. Please don't assume we recognize you from the one by one inch picture you have on your profile... we can't even memorize a 16 song set list! And of course I know we don't smell like a Summer meadow after the gig, but we love to know what you thought of it and even buy you a beer if you suck up good... lmao...
More MySpace friends...
1. And this is about MySpace itself; if you're a band, a T-shirt company, or the local milkman... don't EVER place HTML advertising comments at others if you DON'T allow HTML in your own comment section!!!!!! That is just plain rude. I really think MySpace should be a 2 way street.
2. Don't EVER place an AUTO starting music/video comment!!!! People should have a choice to listen to, or view your crap or not!
For both points: please learn some manners! Also these comments will be deleted in all our accounts and we'll let you know how we feel about your behavior.
Okay, I'm about done here and need a beer and a ciggie, so, hope to see you out there real soon again! And I do mean real soon!!
Be good & take care! Love Peter

In 2001, Fake No More is founded by Steven Tolkamp (vocals), Peter Stevens.. (keyboards), Maurice Lohschelder (guitar), Marius Seidel (bass guitar) and Raymond Liebrand (drums). Their sole purpose for being is to cover the works of the American rock group Faith No More. After a year of intense rehearsing, Fake No More first time sets foot on stage early 2003 at the Sneeuw Pop Festival in Dinxperlo, Holland. Their audience immediately is stunned by their performance. More energetic and thriving gigs were soon to follow, resulting in a fan base by music lovers from everywhere.
Late 2003, Maurice suffers a serious accident at his day-time job, breaking his spine. The recovery takes more than one and a half year. Alex Roelofs, guitar player for the band Snatch, is asked to take over the lead for Maurice. During this period, the band performs twice prime time on national Dutch radio 3FM (at Nachtmiss Marisa and Giel Beelen’s breakfast show) and on several local radio stations. The gigging continues and Fake No More "accidentally tumbles into" The Clash of the Cover Bands; the leading national competition for cover- and tribute bands.
"The first round was held at De Rijnhal, in Arnhem. We merely wanted to do a showcase to find ourselves a management, but we went home with both; 1st place as well as the Public's Favorite award. The second round we faced some really tough competition, but still took 1st place." –Steven Tolkamp, Quote from: www.xtrememusic.org.
January 22, 2004. The band is facing the sold out Paradiso, Amsterdam at the national finals of The Clash of the Cover Bands. Nine best voted bands have to compete and convince a jury, formed by the most prominent members of the Dutch showbiz. Each band giving their ultimate performance to win the grand prize: "Best Cover Band Award 2004" and bragging rights for the following year.
"The final gig at Paradiso, Amsterdam was absolutely stunning. The audience was fantastic, as well as the sound and lighting. It was absolute magic we made that night, especially since Faith No More themselves played there several years ago. Really awesome!" Taken from: www.xtrememusic.org.
That night, the jury is impressed by the energy in performance, the very close resemblance to the original and the musical diversity, which is so typical for Fake No More. They are voted the winners of The Clash of the Cover Bands Award 2004!
Since The Clash of the Cover Bands, the number of gigs increases and the band starts headlining more and more shows. Other highlight in their career so far, are the Princess Pop festival in Enschede (an open air event for over 2500 enthusiast visitors) and a special guest performance at the sold out Dutch Idols Studios.
In August 2005, Maurice replaces Alex after recovering from his injuries. In October 2005, new drummer, Marlon Wolterink, replaces Raymond Liebrand. Then the band records their first single at the legendary Wisseloord Studios, supervised by ..John.. Sonneveld (producer for Anouk and The Golden Earring). The single, Candy Smile, is released in January 2006. Their debut album is now in progress.

Faith No More Reuniting; Book Your Plane Tickets Now....
Kitchen-sink rock outfit Faith No More is reuniting for a summer tour, according to Mike Patton's publicist—although the catch, because there has to be one, is that the band will only tour ..Europe.., and that there are absolutely no plans to tour the States. Rumour has it, also, that former guitarist and Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey cameo-er Jim Martin won't be taking part in it, having left the band in 1993. Since Patton has refused to give interviews about the tour the veracity of those statements won't be proven until someone makes the bright idea to ask Merge Records' PR department for an interview with Imperial Teen's Roddy Bottum, who was FNM's keyboardist until the band split some 11 years ago.

FNM.com:
Faith No More has always stood out as some sort of unique beast; part dog, part cat--its music almost as schizophrenic as the personalities of its members. When it all worked, it worked really well, even if the chemistry was always volatile. Throughout our 17years of existence, the mental and physical energy required to sustain this creature was considerable and relentless. Though amicable enough, when we finally split, we all followed paths seemingly destined to opposite ends of the universe.
Yet during the entire 10 years that have passed since our decision to break up we've experienced constant rumors and requests from fans and promoters alike. Nevertheless, for whatever reason, none of us kept in regular touch, much less to discuss any possibilities of getting together.
What's changed is that this year, for the first time, we've all decided to sit down together and talk about it. And what we've discovered is that time has afforded us enough distance to look back on our years together through a clearer lens and made us realize that through all the hard work, the music still sounds good, and we are beginning to appreciate the fact that we might have actually done something right.
Meanwhile we find ourselves at a moment in time with zero label obligations, still young and strong enough to deliver a kickass set, with enthusiasm to not only revisit our past but possibly add something to the present. And so with this we've decided to hold our collective breaths and jump off this cliff.... BACK, GOD FORBID, INTO THE MONKEY CAGE!!!
We can only hope that the experience of playing together again will yield results erratic and unpredictable enough to live up to the legacy of FNM.
Who know where this will end or what it will bring up...only the future knows. But we are about to find out!
FAITH NO MORE are:
Mike Bordin, Roddy Bottum, Bill Gould, Jon Hudson and Mike Patton.

Could it really be true? And what’s more, we don’t have to hop the pond to actually see it??

Hi peeps…
Well… two thousand left-hand driving miles and five awesome gigs later, back in Holland… now what? First of all, we'd love to thank all the wonderful people that made us feel so very welcome in the United Kingdom and a huge cheers to all you fans out there! It truly was a blast and we had the best of times!!! We've met a lot of crazy, cool, drunk, colourful, fantastic human beings and be sure, some of you have made an impression that will last a lifetime… We also made some valuable contacts that may help us along with the band and the first requests for coming over again, already made it to our inbox, so there's your chance to get your ears wrecked even more! Just a couple things; the left-hand driving was not that hard, apart from a close call with an idiot in a Ford Ka in Grimsby… (yes YOU, dumb ass, keep your distance and pay attention!) and some honking and flashing lights at us every now and then. Your currency troubled us a bit more, but there always seemed to be helpful staff to lend a hand. Oh, and we just loved the local brew, well, most of it! The tunnel was rather dull, but comfy (impressive digging you guys!). The waiter at the Thai restaurant in Mansfield doesn't speak Dutch, so don't let him fool you.
A few facts; Steven nearly got French kissed by a GUY at one of the gigs!!! Pretty kinky… Marius was the only one buying souvenirs and we're sorry, we won't let him do it again! Marthe (Marlon's gf) was asleep for almost the entire tour! Proves that Fake is booooring… Maurice tested his floor effect controller on beer resistance and found out it even got more sticky and yucky then it was before. Eeeeeeeeeeeeew… now it also sticks to the walls! Marlon plays a surprisingly mean game of pool, so make sure not to play for money. Peter drove the bus practically every mile of the tour and had a hard time returning it. He also has the loudest snore in the band! Figures….
All in all it was fabulous and we can't wait to do it again! So we will… make sure to check the tour dates in here and at www.fakenomore.com or www.terrybogus.com !
A huge thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Carnage, for making us sleep a few on the way up and cooking us a fabulous breakfast… we love you guys!!! Hope you made it in time for school…
And very special thanks to the wonderful ladies at Specsavers downtown Wakefield, for fixing Peter's broken sunglasses within half an hour at no charge!! Big kiss… muuuuaaaaah!
Maus also likes to thank the drunk girl that did a full split by slipping on a wet floor and almost made him pee his pants for laughter…. smooth moves baby!
If you think you might be pregnant by one of the band members, we hope you had a good time and we're sorry… lol…
Oh, and you're very welcome to recommend us the best local Fish and Chips stores you know of for next time!
Thanks a million to all of you out there and hope to see you soon…….. really soon!
Maus, Nars, Zed, Brando & Pete.

since we last put out a newsletter. As most of you know we are working on Terry Bogus ( www.terrybogus.com) right now. For those who don’t know what the hell we’re talking about; Terry Bogus is our ’’other’’ band , our "own" side, musically spoken. We have written many songs, and we wanted to separate our own stuff from the tribute. The first result is a free downloadable ( yes free! ) EP at www.terrybogus.com/audio.phpRead and listen more about Terry Bogus on: www.terrybogus.comwww.myspace.com/terrybogusIn February we decided to end the partnership with our management Elmic, we had too many differences about the direction we wanted to go. Since we took the strings back into our own hands, people have shown a lot of international interest. We will be heading to Germany and The Netherlands several times, and in July we’re even heading over to the United Kingdom! For more info take a peek on http://www.fakenomore.com/tour.htm. New dates coming soon! Greetings, Fake No More !!
