Asheville, we miss you!  It’s been a long but great couple of months.  We’ve been across the country a couple of times, out to the Midwest, up to the northeast and even throughout our region, the southeast.  But we haven’t played a Town Mountain show in Asheville for several months.  Frankly, we’re ready to see our friends, hang out, play ya’ll some new tunes and just “bring it”!  So, because of this we’re putting on a show this Friday, September 25, 2009, at our hometown favorite, the Grey Eagle.

We invited our bluegrass buddies from Michigan, Greensky Bluegrass, to come and open the show up for us.  These guys are a great bluegrass band who lean toward a more progressive sound, making it a nice rounded out evening of traditional and progressive styles of bluegrass.  You can be sure that a massive, over the top, super Ya’ll star jam will erupt at the end of the evening.  So look out, it’s coming at you!  You can call the Grey Eagle at 828-232-5800 to reserve your tickets today.

We’ve also got an exciting IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Awards) coming up next week.  The band has lots of showcases throughout the week; check the schedule online for more details.  Phil and Jesse will also be performing at the songwriters’ showcase.  Phil is one of a hand-full of songwriters chosen to perform his new original tunes at the IBMA showcase this year.  The band is really proud of this recognition; come on out and catch some songs you’ve never heard before.

This will be an awesome end to an outstanding summer for Town Mountain.  We’ve played some great festivals; we’ve met some life long friends, and we’ve made some connections in the music world that will help give us the push we need to keep this train moving.  The band wants to sincerely thank all of you. Without even just one of you, we wouldn’t be able to do this!  We look forward to seeing ya’ll real soon.

P.S.  Thanks to everyone who was a part of Palmyra Romeo’s benefit.  That evening made us realize that Asheville is a special place; it’s a place where many individuals join together to give and empower each other.  The volunteers, the attendees, and the music created something more than we could have ever imagined; it was a really inspiring night and wonderful to be a part of.  Asheville you should be proud of who you are!

Well another year gone by, another turkey, another other turkey and lots of holiday cheer!  We've been in hibernation these past few months and like a bear from its den we are rising as if the spring sun is cresting on our brow, as we gently lift our head into a new dawn…

We have been receiving a great response from our second album  "Heroes & Heretics" we would like to thank everyone who has purchased a copy and would also like to thank all the radio stations and DJ's who have been spinning the album…Thank You!

Here's just a few places you can hear Town Mountain on the airwaves WNCW Spindale and Western North Carolina; KZSU Memphis, Tennessee; WFPK Louisville, Kentucky; WORT Madison, Wisconsin; WRUW Cleveland, Ohio; KFDI Wichita, Kansas; KPIG Santa Cruz, California.

This month things pick back up for us.  We are heading to South Carolina and Georgia this weekend for The Pourhouse, one of our favorites, Aiken Brewery, lots of buddies down there and a new venue in Swainsboro, GA, RFD Gallery.  This place seems like a good one.

We're also looking forward to the all the other shows this month in Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. The Flat Rock Wine Shop, a new brand new venue in Black Mountain, The White Horse, there's a buzz around those parts about this place, we're psyched to be there.  We don't get to play Black Mountain as often as we like so things WILL be in high gear, and a long awaited Bristol, Tennessee visit at Machiavelli's.

…So as we all come out of our wintry slumber, stumble over the turkey potpie we start to realize how life is wonderful and with live music it is just even wonderfullyyer…Hope to see you there.

With Love,

Town Mountain
