Kiwi music legends Tim Finn, Bic Runga and Dave Dobbyn will again take the stage together as the nationwide MORE FM Winery Tour announces its Summer 2010 line-up. It will have been a decade since the legendary trio first shared the stage performing their own and each others’ hits, together on stage throughout the entire performance. The MORE FM Winery Tour is delighted that they will reprise that hugely successful show this Summer. Tim, Bic and Dave have already started rehearsals and promise a two-hour, back to back selection of all of their famous hits, songs that have secured them not only scores of awards but have cemented them as New Zealand music icons. Also joining Winery Tour 2010 line-up is Boh Runga, performing songs from the Stellar* songbook as well as her new album Right Here. Boh will be joined on stage by Supergroove front man and solo star Che Fu, bringing his own hits such as "Fade Away" and "Misty Frequencies" to the set. This will be the first time these two powerful vocalists will have performed together, and it is sure to be a hit-laden highlight of the tour. Co-promoter Brent Eccles says "You couldn't find a similarly talented line-up of artists to tour New Zealand together. This will be our biggest and best winery tour yet. The Together In Concert tour we did with Tim, Bic and Dave in 2000 was one of the highlights of my career as a promoter. It was an incredible show. I can’t wait to relive that magic in the stunning venues we visit on this tour. And Boh and Che together will blow everyone away. It’s going to be a fantastic tour!" The growing popularity of the MORE FM Winery Tour sees it visit 16 venues for 18 shows in February and March 2010, adding shows in Whangarei, Palmerston North and Taupo regions for its fourth season. "This year our tour party will be in excess of 70 people, but as big as it is, we always strive to improve the event each year for the fans," says Eccles.
"Demand for bus transport to the venues has grown as people want to leave the car at home, have a few wines and enjoy the night. We have more bus and ticket packages on offer in each region in 2010." The artists are just as excited:
Says Tim Finn "It’s been a few years since I’ve toured extensively in New Zealand. I love the performing and I’m looking forward to working with Dave and Bic again. Ten years ago we were overwhelmed by the success of the Together In Concert tour and the connection we made with the public. We’re having fun coming up with a new show that rivals that for the Winery Tour." Full tour dates from Feb 5 - March 6 2010 are listed on Tim's profile page. For further event information see www.winerytour.co.nz.

I've been recording new tracks, some here in Auckland with Eddie Rayner and Brett Adams, and some in Sydney with Tony Buchen(producing and playing bass) and Carlos on drums. They played the Byron Bay Blues festival with us recently and it was so good we have kind of been working together ever since.Carlos is the Poor Boy drummer for the Syd season which starts July 9th.Guy Pearce couldn't do it so we have Matt Newton as "Danny" and I know he'll be really good. I'm recording a last track with Tony in Sydney at the end of the month. It's a brand new song called "The View Is Worth The Climb"...I wasn't expecting to write any more for a while, but it was one of those ones that you wake up humming, and race down to the piano before you forget. So that means 4 brand new tracks for the Anthology, which comes out early Oct.And a remake of Stuff and Nonsense with Missy Higgins. We also did a new version of "So Deep" from Big Canoe. That was in Auckland with Eddie,Brett,Wayne Bell on drums....we did it first take and it sounds atmospheric and very free...the way songs do when you don't overwork them... Otherwise winter is coming down and swine flu is spreading....here in NZ they predict up to 2 million people may get it over the next couple of years which sounds ridiculous to me...in a country of 4million...maybe they're just covering themselves, but it does sound like a beat-up..."have you seen the little piggies"???????

If you missed out on seeing Tim Finn perform songs from his latest album ‘The Conversation’ late last year then there’s no reason to let his national February 2009 tour pass you by. Finn, the extraordinarily gifted singer/songwriter from Te Awamutu New Zealand, announces a string of up close and intimate shows across the country next month in what will be a unique opportunity for fans to experience ‘The Conversation’ coming to life.
Quite easily Tim’s most organic, celebratory and intimate album yet, ‘The Conversation’ was released in November and was warmly received throughout the Australian media... "Finn’s eighth solo album, The Conversation, is full of delicious melodies, seductive harmonies and heaven-sent chord progressions. Many of the songs are about the troubadour’s contentment with his marriage and home life in NZ." West Australian.
Finn remains one of music’s most revered and respected artists. From founding member of iconic art-rock pioneers Split Enz, to his contributions in Crowded House, ALT and The Finn Brothers. Above all, Finn has enjoyed a rich and accomplished solo career that includes many of this country’s most loved songs. But don’t think for a minute Tim Finn is content resting on his laurels. He continues to push himself artistically and creatively with new material and still draws inspiration from today’s generation of singer/songwriters.
Don’t miss Tim Finn live in February 2009 on ‘The Conversation Tour’. Tickets on sale now.

"in a good conversation, everyone contributes equally"
We've always liked to think of Tim Finn as an honorary Australian so it's only fitting his new solo album 'The Conversation' (in stores November 1) will be released amongst a select run of East Coast dates beginning from next week.
Tim has delivered his most intimate and poignant album to date with "The Conversation" as his distinctive vocals and lyrics form the primary focus. Recorded at Roundhead studios in Auckland and featuring just vocals, guitar, piano and violin, the record was co-produced by Ethan Allen and former Split Enz member Eddie Rayner.
The first single "Out of this World" will also feature prominently in "Poor Boy" which is the new co-production between the Sydney & Melbourne Theatre Companies. Written by Australian playwright Matt Cameron, the play is inspired by, and features, new and existing Tim Finn songs. "Poor Boy" is directed by Simon Phillips and opens on January 26 at the MTC's new theatre before moving to Sydney in July 2009. It will star renowned actor Guy Pearce for its opening season in Melbourne.
You can catch Tim playing live on the following dates:
Sydney The Supper Club - Will & Toby's Taylor Square, Thursday Oct 30 Level 1, 134 Oxford St Darlinghurst Get tickets Brisbane The Troubadour, Monday Nov 3 Level 1, 322 Brunswick St, Fortitude Valley Get tickets Melbourne* The Gershwin Room - The Esplanade Hotel, Wednesday Nov 5 11 The Esplanade, St. Kilda Get tickets *Melbourne show is combined with the launch of the new ABC TV show 'Alone With Everybody'. In his 35 year music career, Tim has led Split Enz, been a member of Crowded House and enjoyed a successful solo career, but it's not until you look in depth at the songs in his catalogue that you get a true appreciation of the genius - 'Poor Boy', 'I Hope I Never', 'I See Red', and '6 Months in a Leaky Boat' were hits for Split Enz; as a part of Crowded House, Tim co-wrote 'Weather With You', 'It's Only Natural' and 'Four Seasons In One Day'; 'Suffer Never' and 'Won't Give In' came out of his Finn Brothers project with Neil; and then as a solo artist there is 'How'm I Gonna Sleep', 'Not Even Close', 'Persuasion', 'Fraction Too Much Friction' and 'Many's The Time'. All classics that stand the test of time…

Neil and I just played three shows in the Waikato region of NZ,our childhood domain...one in Te Awamutu(town of our birth),and two in Hamilton. They were all three charity shows,in TA for Gracelands, and in Hamilton for True Colours. The woman who founded True Colours(a non-profit group set up to counsel and provide therapies for children with life threatening or chronic illnesses, and for their familes also)....an amazing woman called Cynthia Ward, who helped Mum hugely in her illness and in her dying....and is close to all of us now....On Sunday afternoon we met up with many of the familes and their sick kids...very moving and inspiring...you just don't know you're alive when you confront the degree of their daily suffering and struggles...they were great and unusual shows, many songs we hadn't played for a while...Mean to Me,Only Talking Sense,Mary of the South Seas,Many's the Time,Haul Away,Time for a Change,All the Colours....just the two of us inhabiting the stage, moving around different instruments...we filmed two of the shows, and something may come of that one day....but it was good to reconnect with Neil, and sing some harmonies....in Hamilton we had a beautiful Steinway Grand on stage, and it was a pleasure to tickle those ivories...Just heard that John O'Donnell is leaving EMI Australia...he was my champion there, and all the artists loved him...a real music lover, and a big loss...not sure what this means for the release of the conversation?Watch this space....
