Your Heart is a Glorious Machine (yes, a complimentary sentence and an album title all in one...). To be released on Signature Sounds some time in the early year.

Next, we convene at Ruth's this week to figure out what exactly we did on that record so we can play our new songs for you live!! Please come to a show this week if you can. It will be our own little holiday party.

Hello friends!

Happy spring! Preparations for the Sometymes Why "Three Girls and a Baby" tour are well under way! Yes folks, Baby Will will join us for our 6 date northeastern run and we can't wait! A few weeks ago, Kristin and Aoife drove out to the humble abode for a little retreat. We emerged 2 days later with 6 new songs and a hot new poster (designed by Meghan Dewar of Northampton). The rehearsal process was amazing- the 3 why's each bringing 2 new(ish) songs to transform into magic. We holed up in Ruth's music room with the usual assortment of guitars, ukes, glockenspiels, harmonicas, and a piano. Those rehearsal mp3's will be worth millions someday...
This tour stops in some of our favorite cities, including current and former hometowns, and some amazing double bills. We are especially looking forward to our New York City show, where we'll play after Kris Delmhorst and before Chris Thile. Don't miss these shows!

4/30 – Northampton, MA. The Iron Horse. 20 Center Street. w/ The Everybodyfields. 7pm. www.iheg.com
5/1 – Cambridge, MA. Toad. 1912 Massachusetts Ave. 7pm sharp. www.toadcambridge.com
5/2 – Brownfield, ME. Stone Mountain Arts Center. 8pm. www.stonemountainartscenter.com
5/3 – Fall River, MA. The Narrows Center for the Arts. 16 Anawan Street. 8pm. www.ncfta.org
5/4 – New York, NY. The Living Room. 154 Ludlow. 10pm sharp. w/ Kris Delmhorst (CD Release) at 8pm & Chris Thile at 11pm. www.livingroomny.com

And looking ahead, we're thrilled to be playing Bonnaroo this year! We'll be on the Cafe stage, along with friends The Duhks and The Greencards. Get your tickets now!
6/15 – Manchester, TN. Bonnaroo Music Festival. www.bonnaroo.com

In other news, Kristin has been furiously updating our myspace page. There are a bunch of new songs up there, mostly taken from our live shows opening up for Chris Thile and Punch Brothers last fall. More to come. Special thanks to Dave Sinko for the gorgeous recordings.

See you down the road...

xo,
Aoife & Kristin & Ruth.

Sometymes Why has a show coming up on November 28th in Cambridge, MA at Toad (www.toadcambridge.com). We play at 7:30pm and we share the show with the brand new Mike & Ruthy band CD Release concert! Please, please come. It's a great venue and we can't wait to hear music from Mike & Ruthy's new CD The Honeymoon Agenda.

--

We've finally posted a new song on the site (and we hope to post more soon...). This cut is from a show last fall in Atlanta, opening for the Chris Thile band. The song is called "Diamond". Written by Aoife. Enjoy!!

--

We've released a family-friendly version of the Sometimes Why album. Don't worry! The original black CD is still intact and proudly includes Aoife's hit "Too Repressed". The new silver edition is intended as a companion CD for those who already own the black one and want to buy a present for a kid or bring the CD to the office, etc. etc. It's up to you... your choice of silver or black now available at CD Baby. (www.sometymeswhy.us for a link).

Thanks and that's all for now!

Love,
Kristin, Aoife & Ruthy
