Tuesday 15th December, 2009 Tamesis Dock Boat
between Vauxhall and Lambeth bridges, London, SE1 7TP
7.30pm / £7.00
Here's the second of our Rockfeedback Christmas shows, and very
excitingly, it's on a (docked) boat. We all know the Thames is very
lovely indeed around Christmas time, so here's a folk-filled
extravaganza down on the water. Se to be a proper hoedown, we've got
three amazing acts plus Chess Club, Rockfeedback and more DJs on hand
to make you move your feet after a headline set from the wonderful
Peggy Sue.

PEGGY SUE - Delightful Brighton trio Peggy Sue are
one of the country's best folk-pop acts. Comparisons to the current
trend of folk bands hitting the charts are inevitable, if a little
inaccurate, as their songs can occasionally inhabit the darker melodic
penumbra cast by singers like Cat Power and Regina Spektor at their
best. They’ve recently been off spreading their sunshine on the less
deserving shores of the U.S., and are only playing a few gigs back in
London, this one-off being one of them. We had them feature on our
stage at this year’s Great Escape festival in Brighton, and here they
finish a wonderful year on our boat, sure to make a big splash indeed. www.myspace.com/peggywho

CURLY HAIR - Another trio here, and also from
Brighton by way of London, lo-fi popsters Curly Hair have been picking
up fans rapidly of recent times for their endearing Moldy Peaches meets
Beat Happening infected new wave anti-folk. You can currently catch
them traversing the UK on tour with Malcolm Middleton (previously of
Arab Strap) www.myspace.com/wearecurlyhair
TRISTRAM - New London troubadour backed by drums,
cello and other manners of strings, Tristram makes self-proclaimed
"lullabies for uncertain times". Embracing the alt-country stylings of
Will Oldham and Jeffrey Lewis, and a very British type of creative
singer-songwriters in the vein of Nick Drake, Tristram is a new artist
on the brink of big things. http://www.myspace.com/tristramsongs
Plus DJ sets from Chess Club, our always spectacular old buddy
Goldierocks, and the Rockfeedback dream team. We're going to be on a
boat until 1am.
The vessel in question is Tamesis Dock boat, Albert Embankment,
Vauxhall, London, SE1 7TP, between Vauxhall Bridge and Lambeth.
Vauxhall's probably the best transport option, otherwise take a
leisurely stroll just past the London Eye. Tickets are a paltry £7, and should be snapped up here - http://www.wegottickets.com/event/64281. Be quick now as this is a SMALL docked boat, and we're expecting it to sell out sharpish.

Thursday 10th December, 2009 The Lexington
96-98 Pentonville Road, London, N1 9JB
7.30pm / £8.00
Christmas is a-coming and this year we're bloody going for it full
steam. To celebrate, we're going to be doing two special shows. Gig one
takes place amidst the winter warming splendour of our wonderful
Lexington haunt in London. It's been a fantastic whole year since we
moved above our new home, and to celebrate we've got a party to close
our year here headed up by the one and only RUMBLE STRIPS. Stay tuned
for part 2, announced on Monday. THE RUMBLE STRIPS - Tavistock, Devon's finest the Rumble Strips returned this year with the Mark Ronson produced Welcome To The Walk Alone,
which saw them continue to develop their wonderfully heartfelt soulful
pop to new splendorous heights. A band right at home in a cosy bar
setting such as ours, we love the Rumble Strips dearly, and since their
early releases on our sister label Transgressive Records they remain
one of the most enjoyable live bands in the land. www.myspace.com/rumblestripsuk

THOMAS TRUAX - American songwriter, performer and
inventor of musical instruments, the wonderful Thomas Truax is a
phenomenally creative individual who first came to prominence in the
Anti-folk movement on New York's Lower East side in the 1990s. Coming
across half David Lynch film, half Tom Waits - we fell in awe of Thomas
when we had him for a Basement Club night waaay back. Always
accompanied by a fantastic concoction of newly invented instruments,
Truax has recently been seen as crucial part of the "steampunk" genre
in which musicians reference the Vitctorian "steam-power" world and
H.G. Wells style fictional fantastical inventions. www.myspace.com/ThomasTruax
INTERNET FOREVER - New indie-pop trio Internet
Forever make scuzzy shout-along lo-fi songs. Twee as mittens and fun as
playground swings, they've quite rightly been causing a great stir of
late. www.myspace.com/internetforever Plus of course there’ll be Rockfeedback DJs spinning some fine tunes, and guest DJs to be announced. Tickets are a tasty £8 and can be snapped up HERE - wegottickets.com/rockfeedback. It all takes place on Thurs Dec 10th @ The Lexington 96-98 Pentonville Road, and doors are at 7.30pm.

HOT CLUB DE PARIS, FLASHGUNS & SPECIAL GUESTS Monday 23rd November, 2009 The Lexington
96-98 Pentonville Road, Angel, London, N1 9JB
7.30pm / £7.00
HOT CLUB DE PARIS:
Meshing heart-grabbing punk rock, indie sensibilities and power-pop
blasts with an admirable disregard for conventional time structures,
this Liverpudlian foursome are currently holed up working hard at album
number three, making this rare venture out in to the big bad world
quite the show indeed. Hot Club De Paris made good friends of
Rockfeedback out in Iceland a few years back, and they’re sure to have
the same effect on you – here’s compelling video evidence of their charms.
FLASHGUNS:
Firm rockfeedback favourites these chaps - open-hearted
indie-popsters Flashguns are a perfect snapshot of forward-thinking
young new bands carving their way into the music world with a big bag
of great songs and a frenetic live show. A great band (now a trio), who
call to mind a fresh-faced Smiths with a heavier pop-orientated yet
Sigur Ros-y soundscaped edge, recent tours with Bombay Bicycle Club and
Jamie T mean they're sat with the world at their feet. We've liked them
for a while, and they're REALLY nice guys too. Go on, go up and have a
chat to them afterwards, buy 'em some drinks, they're cool. Go on.
PLUS SPECIAL GUESTS:
Watch this space. Watch it. Closer. That’s good.
PLUS ROCKFEEDBACK DJs. + TOUGH LOVE RECORDS DJs
Tickets are priced at £7.50 and should be snapped up abruptly to ensure entry right here - www.wegottickets.com/rockfeedback
. It all takes place at our London home of The Lexington, found at 96-98
Pentonville Road, Islington, with doors at 7.30pm. Kings Cross and
Angel tube'll sort you out.

ROCKFEEDBACK IN ASSOCIATION WITH KRUGER MAGAZINE PRESENTS:
CYMBALS EAT GUITARS: London headline show from
this justly heralded up-and-coming New York band. Their highly
original, open-hearted, wide-eyed but deeply introspective brand of
indie-rock has seen rave reviews for their remarkably wave-inducing
debut album, out earlier this year. With shades of shoegaze and
technicolor-tinged pop it's no surprise that the band have attracted
praise from Brooklyn hipsters, tastemakers sites like Pitchfork and
titans of indie-rock such as The Flaming Lips, for whom they'll be
opening after this greatly anticipated tour of the UK.
TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB
Frenetic new-wave electronica infused indie-pop from this Northern
Irish trio (soon to be a quartet with the addition of a real live
drummer!). Good pals of ours, and soon to be yours, these chaps are new
signings to our sister label Transgressive's publishing arm, and are
set to be the first full LP release on French tastemaker label Kitsune.
Recently dazzling as support to Foals, and on our
Transgressive/Rockfeedback stage at Leeds, they stop in here for a
special Rockfeedback show appearance.
NORTH ATLANTIC OSCILLATION
These Scottish newbies are stopping in here as touring buddies for
the duration of the Cymbals Eat Guitars for the UK slog. This being the
first date, things could well be awkward and tense, but after a few
drinks we'll see what happens. Some fresh new things this lot, NAO make
heart-on-sleeve electronic dream-pop with strong nods to Flaming Lips,
Caribou and Stereolab

BILLY MAHONIE
Billy Mahonie were and are a very important band to the Rockfeedback
and Transgressive team – and to the likes of Foals and Bloc Party too.
As such we were delighted to hear that after a lengthy break they were
releasing a new LP, and have managed to convinced them to congregate
from their now disparate homes of Norway and London to play a special
album launch show for us. An incredibly powerful and intense live band
who mix a Kraut-y, dance-based instrumental side with occasionally folk
and heavy rock features, they released their hugely influential early
albums on Southern and Too Pure records, and this will be their fifth
record.

GYRATORY SYSTEM Formed from the ashes of
the critically acclaimed One More Grain, Gyratory System are a horn-led
live electronics instrumental group. Seemingly rooted in the post-punk
of the likes of PiL and leftfield disco / dance of the same period, GS
take from the past and push wildly into the future, probably on a
spaceship marked "new frontiers". Now signed to the ever-excellent
Angular Recording Corporation, GS are a fantastically original and
convention-shattering band, and it's live where they really come into
their own. www.myspace.com/gyratorysystem
KOGUMAZA Kogumaza is the new
project of Chris Summerlin, known for his work with other bands like
Lords, Reynolds and Wolves! The trio encapsulte everything from quiet
melodic post-rock instrumentals to heavier stoner-rock freakouts and
glitchy experimintalism. www.myspace.com/oogamaza
DJing comes courtesy of the fine folk at Southern Records. It all
takes place on October 8th at The Lexington, 96-98 Pentonville Road,
London. Angel and Kings Cross are your nearest tube stations.
Some very special guests in support are to be announced shortly.
Tickets cost £6.00 in advance and can be purchased HERE.

We've been looking to have the marvellous Pulled Apart By Horses
down for some time now - and here they are, arguably as good a
disco-rocking, punk-rock dance fight of a band as there is in the
country right now. Actually, let's not mess about, they're the best new live band in the country right now. This headline show also features a suitably super
support bill in the shape of fellow Leeds chaps That F**king Tank and
sprightly London two-piece Friendship. Be quick with those tickets (www.wegottickets.com/rockfeedback) and
see below for more details:
PULLED APART BY HORSES
These Leeds fellas have been putting a donk on it since back in
2007, causing kids to fall over themselves with glee and bringing the
noise to a quickly increasing fan-base. We've made no secret of our
huge love for their mix of hardcore riffs with a disco hi-hat or two,
resulting in ear-bleeding mayhem. The chaps are stopping in here for
their first London headline show proper, before touring Europe with
kindred spirits Future Of the Left, and arenas with Biffy Clyro. www.myspace.com/pulledapartbyhorses
THAT F**KING TANK
Making a return appearance to a Rockfeedback stage as close musical
friends of the aforementioned PABH, these tanked-up f**kers, also
hailing from Leeds, played for us this time last year after Foals
handpicked them to support them at our legendary Cross Kings show. A
truly stellar band featuring a unique duel guitar amp/one guitar set-up
live show, TFT are another head-rocking onslaught of rock and roll, and
their newest album released this year has seen them continue to settle
further into the fantastic cult band they are. www.myspace.com/landsandbody
FRIENDSHIP
Friendship consists of Hills (drums) and Willard (guitar); and they
make a power-pop racket of fine proportions. Full of praise from the
likes of Steve Lamacq, Nic Grimshaw and many more, they've recently
supported Yeah Yeah Yeahs and put a single out on the always wonderful
Too Pure. A fine new addition to the noisy-pop scene as they come
across like a Brit-pop imbued No Age. www.myspace.com/thegoodfriendship
DJ talents on the night will come in the guise of some rather handsome Rockfeedback DJs, and some less handsome others TBC.
It all takes place on Wednesday the 30th of September at The Lexington, which is located at numbers 96-98 Pentonville Road, London, N1 9JB. Doors open at 7.30 and we’ll play ‘til we get kicked out. And remember to get there early – there’s been some really good stuff given out in the goody bags we thrust in the hands of the first fifty people up the stairs recently. Tickets cost £6.00 and are available www.wegottickets.com/rockfeedback

So we’re running a one-off Japanese-themed night at London’s
Lexington, complete with DJs, including the Rockfeedback boys and King
of the Scratch Monkeys themselves and Tiger from This Is Music who will
no doubt be playing ace Tokyo disco tunes; sushi-tastic snacks, and the
following bands from the Land of the Rising Sun…
[ANCHORSONG]
ANCHORSONG - Haunting keyboard driven techno and
wonky electronica, the one-man Japanese maestro appears here live with
added drummer and gives as much to the cerebral setting as to the
dancing shoe. Championed by the likes of Huw Stephens and many more,
Anchorsong's Four Tet meets a new school Cornelius type of sound
experimentation has turned many a head and seems destined for great
things. www.myspace.com/anchorsong
[BO NINGEN]
BO NINGEN - Mad as they come, we present some
proper crazy Japanese rock in these latest Stolen Recordings signings
now based in the UK. Bo Ningen are everything you want from a proper
new wave Japanese rock band. Embracing the Pysch tendencies of Acid
Mothers Temple and the mental punk of the likes of Polysics, Bo Ningen
have quite rightly caused a stir in recent times. www.myspace.com/boningen
[A MONTH OF SUNDAYS]
A MONTH OF SUNDAYS - Recently risen from the ashes
of Hanjiro, a Japanese Rock stalwart, A Month of Sundays flit quickly
between psychedelic bursts, indie-pop majestics and added charm and
melodic beauty. It all calls to mind the likes of Deerhoof, Flaming
Lips or a more immediate Deerhunter. www.myspace.com/helloamonthofsundays
[NO CARS]
NO CARS – A quirky, cute Tokyo Disneyland all girl
three piece now based in London town. Think the 1,2,3,4’s or other
fun-filled guitar femme garage-poppers from the East. If there ever
was a barn dance in Japan their song ‘Where is David Bowie?’ would be
perfect to jig along to- just listen to it on their MySpace and you’ll know what we mean.
That all takes place on Thursday the 10 th of September 2009, at The Lexington, 96-98 Pentonville Road, London, N1 9JB. £6.00 tickets are available from: http://www.wegottickets.com/rockfeedback, http://www.wegottickets.com/event/54269,
or by calling WeGotTickets on 02078375371. Doors open at 8pm, and the
nearest tube stations, Angel and King’s Cross, are a couple of minutes’
walk away so no excuses!

Get tickets here: www.wegottickets.com/rockfeedback
Continuing
the theme of decidedly summery Rockfeedback shows, we have another in
our series of very nice mid-week evenings out on a Tuesday night in
July. How pleasant indeed. This one features three of our favourite new
artists who’ve all clearly spent some serious times either in majestic
Swedish small towns, Yorkshire forestry or the Great British West
Country. Being Rockfeedback, we’ve mobilized our resources to bring
them together.
....
FIRST AID KIT
- The Swedish duo First Aid Kit comprises sisters Johanna and Klara
Söderberg (born 1990 and 1993, respectively), hailing from Enskede, a
suburb south of Stockholm. Yes, they are very young, but the pureness
of the music they create speaks of bygone times and old souls. The
emphasis is on narrative lyrics accompanying playful melodies with
intense, dense harmonies. A full album is set for release in September
on Wichita Records, and already everyone from The Sun and the NME
to us ourselves are heralding them as hugely exciting new artists with
some seriously big futures ahead of them. This sees a special exclusive
headline show as part of a handful of festival appearances in the UK.
BLUE ROSES - Hailing from Shipley near Bradford, Laura Groves formed Blue Roses as an outlet for her beguiling song writing. Signed
to XL Recordings, influences span genres and generations; from Bartók
to Bush, Tiersen to Tears For Fears, Debussy to Du Maurier. Live Groves
is joined by Sadie Anderson of Chrome Hoof fame - doing violin/viola,
glockenspiel, kick-drum, harmonica, harmonies and heck probably just
about anything possible.
KILL IT KID
- For want of an easy comparison, a blend of Tom Waits, Anthony Hegarty
and The Raconteurs has been mentioned. On the excellent One Little
Indian Records, Kill It Kid sound very much their own - an impassioned,
adventurous slant on blues and dark pop through powerful songs,
gorgeous two-part vocals and a penchant for down-home storytelling.
There’ll also be DJ sets from us faithful Rockfeedback lot plus special
guest DJs to be announced. I reckon we’ll definitely play some Magnetic
Fields, Kate Bush, Arthur Russell acoustic stuff and Dirty Projectors.
But I just can’t guarantee that.
It’s at The Lexington, to be found on 96-98 Pentonville Road, London. Angel and Kings Cross tube will both sort you out. Doors will be at 7.30pm and bands will be on soon after.
Anyway, enough banter, grab yo’selves a ticket for a paltry £6.00 here.

What
a glorious thing summer is. To celebrate this fact we have a
sunshine-filled show to kick it off with one of the most exciting
line-ups we’ve put together this year. Headlining is a UK debut for a
band hotter than global warming in an oven turned up to full,
California’s Local Natives - a very exciting tribal-type collective of
five over from the USA, full of harmony-drenched and seemingly
effortless timeless song-craft. Two other headliners in their own right
join them: new London-based indie-pop-like-indie-pop-once-was titans
Your Twenties and new alt-folkers Kurran and the Wolfnotes. Want to know more?

LOCAL NATIVES
–Silver Lake, USA residents Local Natives were rightly one of the most
talked about new bands at new-music extravaganza SXSW this year,
picking up across the board plaudits for their strikingly beautiful
baroque, harmonic pop. Calling to mind the off-kilter creativity of
Talking Heads with the lush energetic melody and musical tribalism of
the likes of Broken Social Scene, The Byrds, Vampire Weekend and Fleet
Foxes, this show is an eagerly anticipated debut UK appearance. www.myspace.com/localnatives
YOUR TWENTIES
- Fleetwood Mac meets indie pop goodness from these fine young
London-based, Devon originating upstarts. The band feature ex-Metronomy
man Gabriel on vocal duties and possess a big bag full of wonderful
songs to get you all excited about indie-pop coming out of the capital
all over again. www.myspace.com/yourtwenties
KURRAN AND THE WOLFNOTES - More newcomers to
the vibrant and flourishing British new-folk scene, London-based Kurran
and the Wolfnotes possess a genuine and heart-rendering sincerity in
their harmony-drenched traditional sounds, while also coming armed with
a slew of hugely catchy and exciting pop songs at their disposal. Some
more big ones to watch here to round off a bill of very exciting new
music. www.myspace.com/kurranandthewolfnotes
Plus there’ll be DJ sets between the bands from ace East London shindig
run in association with one of our fave free music rags, DIRTY BINGO vs. LOUD AND QUIET. Additionally ROCKFEEDBACK DJS
will also appear, probably playing ‘Can’t Do Nuttin’ For You Man’ by
Public Enemy at least twice, just like we did when we play at Dirty
Bingo last Saturday.
So that’s all at The Lexington, 96-98 Pentonville Road in Angel, on Monday 13th July. Kings Cross and Angel tubes are closest, and doors are at 7.30pm. Tickets for all of our shows can be purchased right here: www.wegottickets.com/rockfeedback
