Hi spotters,

Still been bad about postings. Many apologies.

Check out this cool article about the Minnesota Ice Man, which was one of my favorite monsters I covered in my book:

Hi Spotters,

Sorry I've been a little lax lately about postings. I'm trying to be better.

This past weekend I went to a Writer's Conference where I signed books. I met some nice people. This one guy I met recently started a cool website about strange places and happenings in the midwest. Check it out:

Also, I'll try to be better about posting paranormal headlines:

Hey Spotters,

Sorry it's been a while. Been bogged down with work and stuff. I've got a couple of events coming up... one is the Mad Anthony Festival on May 26 at Miami University in Hamilton, OH. I'm signing copies of my book from 1:30-4:30.

I'll also be at Joseph Beth Booksellers in Lexington, KY for their Bluegrass Festival on May 17. I'll be signing from 10 am - 2 pm.

So if you wanna pick up a signed copy of Monster Spotter's Guide and your in either of those areas... here's you chance. Or if you just wanna stop by and talk about monsters, I'm up for that too.

Keep monster spotting,

s.

I think the vampire has some parsley or something stuck in it’s teeth.

I’ll be signing copies of my book Monster Spotter’s Guide to North America, as well as copies of the Writer’s Book of Matches at the Mad Anthony Writer’s Conference/Book Festival in Hamilton, OH (on April 26. If you’re in the area, please come check it out. The signing is from 1:30-4:30 p.m. and I believe it is free. The Writer’s Conference itself does cost some, but seems to be pretty affordable--a nice chance to meet authors, agents and editors. Keynote speakers include Hallie Ephron and Lori Foster.

Hey Spotters,

Remember this summers Chupacabra craze over the mysterious dog like creature that was killed in Cuero, Texas? Here's an update. Apparently it's a mutt--a mix of canine breeds, including Mexican wolf.

But, hey... it's still weird and ugly. You can call it a monster if you want to.

Hey Spotters,

I've got a cool 3rd hand account of a possible Bigfoot encounter in WV from Society Member 003. Her telling of the story is as follows.

Enjoy,

s.

Tracy (whom i work with) has a brother named Steve who likes to hunt deer. He went to visit with a fellow hunter and acquaintance who lives in WV. While out hunting one morning, he was in a tree stand, and heard what he described as a sound unlike anything he'd ever heard before. Being somewhat freaked out by the episode, he remained in the tree for quite some time - not coming out until the appointed time at which he was to meet up with his friend again. When he met up with his fellow hunter, he found out that the other guy had heard the same thing, and also described the sound as unlike anything he'd ever heard before. They both sort of wrote it off for a couple of months, until recently, Steve was watching a documentary on Bigfoot, and he heard the sound again - on the show. Apparently, the researchers claim that Bigfoot will take large sticks or fallen limbs from trees, and bang them together while grunting wildly to scare off animals/beings that they feel threatened by. Steve said it gave him chills. He recorded the television show and played it later for his friend, who also claims that the sound from the show was EXACTLY what he'd heard in the woods that day. Neither of these gentlemen considered themselves 'believers' in the Bigfoot legend prior to this experience, but now, have vowed to return to the same area in the WV woods with cameras and audio recorders until they again encounter the strange phenomenon, and prove that Bigfoot does indeed exist.

yours,
agent 3.

Hi Spotters,

Here's a recount of the events surrounding the most famous piece of Bigfoot evidence ever recorded. Robert Gimlin (one of the men responsible for the infamous Patterson-Gimlin Film) addressed more than 100 people at Olympia, Washington's State Capital Museum.

Howdy Spotters,

Sorry for the lapse. Dang real job. I really need to get some funding and delve into my nerd-dom full time. The time seems ripe for some paranormal exploration with stuff happening all over the world from Bigfoot/Yeti sightings, Chupacabra and phantom kangaroo reports. There's been all kinds of weird stuff (we're talking X-Files type stuff) the past few months. Here's the latest:

A prehistoric organism with tentacles was discovered living in a Denver sewer system. This reminds me of an episode where Mulder & Scully are attacked by a tentacled creature living in the waterlines of a coastal town during a hurricane. Check it out:

There have been sightings of a mermaid-like creature known as the Kaaiman in South Africa's Western Cape:

And finally, this isn't a monster, but it's sure got my attention. If you haven't heard about the recent UFO reports in Texas, you need to check this out. The story sounds straight from the X-Files, complete with denial from the military about fighter jets sighted chasing the mysterious craft. Thanks to Monster Spotter 0004 for the tip.

That's all for now, but keep your eyes open. As they say, the truth is out there.
