Just a quick little piece here to let you know I'm still alive. As you can hear, I'm falling in love with my new orchestra synths. If you'd like to hear the higher quality version (this one sounds like crap on MySpace) it's available on my site: http://www.matthewmcmillion.com

I've been playing too much Half-life lately.
Some of that comes through in the new piece "Zero Point", but it's fitting, as I think my style of music would fit into that game well (not to knock Kelly Bailey--he's an amazing composer). The song is very reminiscent of the heavy parts of "Machines". It's rather short, written as a quick little "oh crap, something's going down" in a first person shooter type game.
The second new piece, "Jovian Rain", is something a bit different. It's not really a soundtrack piece, but more of an experimental / potential direction for some future solo work. It reminds me of stuff I used to do as a kid.
I've got some more stuff I may release in the coming weeks. My recent bouts of insomnia have led to a lot of inspiration and work being done on songs. Stay tuned.
And as always, feel free to post any critiques you may have.

Here's what Matt is currently doing:
1.) Working like a dog. I've taken over some extra responsibilities at work (shipping/answering phones/all the stuff I used to do before), so now my days are cram-packed with loads of work to do.
2.) Rocking out and recording with Sacred Reign. Look for the album to be done soon, and shows are coming as well.
3.) Working out. Trying to not be a fatass.
4.) Playing WoW again. Bite me.

...that when I set my "secret phrase" for my online banking to "poop", that I wouldn't be able to change it.
I also failed to realize that when calling the bank to tie my new savings account to my direct deposit, I would be forced to recite said "secret phrase".

I'll go ahead and say this right away: I'm glad Obama won. Not because I was behind him 100% (I wasn't), and not because I hated McCain. I'm glad he won because it's something the country needs. If that pisses you off or makes you not want to read the rest of this to see why I feel that way, then by all means, take your closed mind elsewhere. If you decide to stay, I'll touch on a few points: Obama is not "black" - First of all (and this is a rant) I'm already sick and tired of the constant harping on "OMG OBAMA IS BLACK OMG BLACK PRESIDENT" etc. The fact is, the man is a product of many races, not just one. Forgetting (or ignoring) this is just as racist as having yet another old white man in office. The amazing thing about Obama is that he gained the vote of so many people, regardless of age or race or sex. This was partly because he is a melting pot himself. That's a *good* thing people. Ignoring that just proves that you only cared about the candidate because of his color, regardless of how many times he asked people to disregard it. Please don't continue to turn this into a fucking race-based shit-fest. McCain lost, get over it - Sure you're sad, but that's how the government works. Did you really think McCain had a shot with the stigma of Bush looming over his head the entire time? Why else would he have been so eager to repeatedly tell us the things he didn't like about Bush, or about how he was going to a fix things after such a failed administration? Did any of you even watch the debates? Both candidates were very similar on their views and what they wanted to fix. However, most of you are so concerned over party ties or false ideals that you'll just bitch and moan because a democrat is in office. The vocal majority of McCain supporters proved to be asshats - I'm sorry, but it's true. We were lucky enough this time around to have two candidates both very capable of running the country (at least better than the current president). Yet, for some reason, the McCain supporters you always saw on TV showed themselves to be complete idiots. I'm not trying to make any unwarranted assumptions here, but those of you who are still vocal in support of McCain (or vocal in disapproval of Obama) need to realize that the loudest part of your party have already made all of you look like tools. Even McCain himself was aware of this, and I sympathize with him for having to hush his own audience while trying to give his final speech last night. It's really sad to see that many sore losers with the power to vote. I hope Obama really is Muslim - It'll do the country good. This will probably piss a lot of people off, but I think it's a good thing. Do any of you even remember the reason this country was founded? Most of you are probably wrong. Those of you who are so set in your ways thinking (or proclaiming) that Christianity at some point became the official religion of America need to grow up. You are not the only religion entitled to be on this earth or in this country. Moreover, the fact that some of you are so intolerant of others just adds fuel to the fire. The rest of us learned to share in grade school, it's time you did too. Look people: We just elected a new president, and for the first time ever, a president who actually has a good amount of ethnic blending. Get rid of your childish emotions and quit your bitching. Republicans: Man up and help this man change the way our country is moving. It's what McCain is doing. Democrats: Get off your pedestal and realize that it is a man you elected, not a color. P.S. I didn't even vote for Obama.

Holy cripe, I'm busy. First off, the CD is coming along nicely. The packaging is almost done. As a matter of fact, here's the CD Label: Hopefully I can start getting this stuff printed soon. I haven't fully decided exactly how the disc will be packaged, but it will be impressive as hell. Second, there's a new clip of a demo for you to listen to. It's nothing more than some mood music, but it leads me to point number three: I'm currently working on not one, but four projects, taking place over the course of the next year. Two are smaller, but the other two are in the running for the Make Something Unreal contest. I'm excited. Hopefully in the coming weeks you'll get to hear more about the projects. Also, stay tuned, because in the next few weeks I'll be taking addresses for anyone who wants a CD. ;)
