 |
Current mood: bummed
On Saturday, October 17, 2009, Juan James aka Enock, founding member of Cross Movement and later an artist on Much Luvv Records, died suddenly from a Heart Attack. Known by many as authentic Christian and gentle giant, join us today as folks like Tre9, Sketch the Journalist, John Wells aka the Tonic and Rob Hodge
all remember his life, his legacy and his music.
And of course, we
play many of those heartfelt classics that Enock was a master of
creating. So whether you are a life long fan of his music and ministry
or you aren't quite as familiar with all of his material, the music and testimonies make this something you need to hear. TO VIEW THE FULL PLAYLIST: Click Here

Greetings Everyone,
One of the things the Lord has been dealing with me on lately is learning to appreciate different perspectives on the same topic. Obviously, I won’t agree with everyone, but all of us are uniquely made and been given the ability to reason. Even in the body of Christ, there are multiple schools of thought, theologies and denominations. Everyone thinks they are right. Yet, there is only one truth, which means we’re probably wrong more often than we’d like to admit. I’d just like to encourage you to consider the thoughts, ideas, opinions and even feelings of others. We are blessed to have two ears and one mouth for a reason: we should listen twice as much as we speak.
Speaking of perspectives, this week on the show, you will get to hear a lot of them. Allan Houston and the entire Don’t Waste Your Life Tour will be interviewed on the show. You certainly will not want to miss this. Also, if you will be anywhere near NYC on July 4th, you have to come check out myself, Frontlynaz, DJ Morph, Joe Justiz and G-Notes live in Brooklyn. All of the pertinent info is below.
As always, I appreciate your fellowship and support of my ministry. Keep standing firm!

WATCH Braille's New Music Video: Skepticold |
 |
From Braille:
The "Skepticold" music video was shot in Portland, OR with an extensive cast and crew. The song is taken from the album "CloudNineteen" by Braille and S1. The duo set out on a mission to give away 30,000 copies of the album this year at all their live shows. So far they have manufactured 15,000 copies and given away over 8,000. With many events already booked for the summer, they anticipate reaching the half way mark within the next two months. For more info check out www.itsnineteen.com and www.braillehiphop.com.
If you haven't already done so, I urge you to support this brother. The project is dope, but God has also given him an awesome vision for this project.

Please Join Me in Praying for Jon and Kate Plus 8 |
 |
Jon and Kate Gosselin are the new “pop culture” darlings. They are the stars of the TLC reality show “Jon and Kate Plus 8.” The show chronicles the everyday life of the Pennsylvania couple as they raise 8 children. The catch is that all of the children are currently under age 10 with the 2 eldest children being twins and the youngest 6 being sextuplets. I can’t imagine raising that many children under those circumstances. That would be tough.
The show has been airing for a little over 2 years (4 seasons) and recently has gained increased popularity because the couple is having marital problems. Finally on Monday Night’s episode, the couple announced their separation and divorce.
From the LA Times:
Monday night’s highly promoted episode of “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” in which the embattled couple announced their separation (and later divorce), lifted the show’s sinking ratings. The episode drew an impressive 10.6 million viewers and was the highest-rated “Jon & Kate Plus 8” episode ever among all key demographics, beating all other season premieres and finales.

Putting Ministry in the Proper Perspective |
 |
Earlier this evening I typed several tweets on twitter and subsequently facebook encouraging those of us who are involved in any type of ministry to keep it in the proper perspective. So often, we get caught up in getting props, getting ourselves out there and lose sight of why we are doing this. I decided to re-post the tweets on my blog at the suggestion of some of those I fellowship with on Twitter.
As you read this, please keep in mind, this was unedited and free flowing, as is much of the conversation on twitter. So if my grammer is incorrect in places, understand why. :-). Prayerfully this is a blessing to you:
TWEETS:
-
is praying that all of us involved in ministry don't lose sight of why we are doing this: TO MAKE JESUS KNOWN TO THE MASSES.....
-
(Con't) in the midst of the events, websites, myspace, facebooks, emails, props from folks, etc, it becomes real easy to miss that...
-
(con't 2)...and think that that this whole thing is about building our own mini-kingdoms as opposed to THE KINGDOM.
-
(Con't 3) Christ didn't die so you could have 10K followers on twitter or 100K people supporting YOUR ministry. He died because of our sin

Many of you who peep the show on a regular basis, heard the " My President" song I played from Da T.R.U.T.H. on Episode 112
of the show (first song of the show.) A few of you asked if that was
his first single. Answer is no. It was simply a leak.
That said, Da T.R.U.T.H. and his management team are asking you guys to help them choose the official first single from his new album "The Big Picture."
So listen to the two songs below and vote in the poll that is off to
the right. Many of us often say what we would do if we were running a
label or managing an artist. Well...here's your chance. Exercise your opportunity to vote and leave a comment below with your feedback. Your
ideas and opinions matter!

A Message from Wade-O |
Greetings,
I pray that you all are having a great start to your summer. I can’t complain about much my way. My son turned 1 a couple of weeks ago, he’s walking, my Lakers are looking good in the NBA Finals and most importantly, Jesus is still on the throne. Despite the economy, despite our lack of faith at times, despite all of this other stuff going on…Jesus still is who He is.
The Lord has really been challenging my wife and on a lot of things. It seems like every other day, one of us is going to the other to discuss where we are being challenged. It’s a beautiful thing. It’s a great reminder that God’s Word has the perfect antidote to every situation, circumstance, question or decision that you are faced with. If you aren’t already doing so, please spend some time in your bible everyday and meditate on God’s Word. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
If you haven’t tuned into the radio show in a while, the past few weeks have been very interesting. We interviewed Kirk Franklin and Lisa McClendon, as well as did a mix last week that you can play at all of your summertime BBQ’s and Cookout’s. If you missed out, you can download all of them below. This week, you will definitely want to check out our interview with 116 Clique Affiliate Thi’sl. He has a new project coming out as well as a wonderful testimony to share about how the Lord has been using him to minister to those in prison.
Thanks again to all of you who support our ministry. It’s a pleasure to be of service to you.
Grace & Peace,
Wade |

Press Release |
DJ Wade-O 'Gets It In' with Kirk Franklin
In what may be the biggest “get” of his career, DJ Wade-O recently interviewed gospel music great Kirk Franklin.
The genre’s biggest selling artist in SoundScan history (over 12 million albums sold, over twenty #1 singles at gospel radio, and a frequent industry award winner) sat down with Wade to talk about:
- The competitive nature of the American Idol-like Sunday’s Best show he hosts on BET
- His opinions on music collaborations with secular artists
- His appearance on Oprah where he discussed his previous addiction to pornography
- His thoughts on the viability of Christian Hip Hop
- And his plans to write a new book
“We’ve been working on this for a while and I’m so happy to finally see it come to fruition,” DJ Wade-O said.
“For many, Kirk is essentially the face of modern gospel music and he’s always had a connection to the hip hop community so bringing our conversation to the show was definitely a ‘no-brainer’.”
God has been blessing The Wade-O Radio Show in abundance lately with continued expansion to multiple online and over-the-air affiliate stations and a steady stream of intriguing guests.
In addition to Kirk Franklin, episode 111 will feature St. Louis’ Thi’sl and episode 112 will be centered on an in-depth discussion with Philadelphia pastor Dr. Eric Mason who planted Epiphany Fellowship Church with former Cross Movement member William “The Ambassador” Branch.
Future interviews are also scheduled with rap ministers Viktory, Papa San, and Mr. Del.

Greetings,
I pray you all enjoyed your Memorial Day Holiday as well as the short work-week this week. Last weekend, I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with my family. It was truly a blessing. It made me realize yet again, what a blessing it is to be able to spend time with family to just enjoy the simple things in life…good weather and good food!
While we were together last weekend, I also realized that there are not too many things that are better than cruising in the summertime and listening to good music on the way to a good cook out. As such, I decided to help contribute to those of you who enjoy that like me, by doing a mix for this week’s show. Holy Hip Hop, R and P, Gospel, Dancehall, and even some club. I think there is something for everyone in this mix.
As promised last week, we added some more events to the calendar. We have a few more that we are working on as well and hopefully I will get to see some of you at those events this summer. Until next week |
