Warren Franklin, whom recently dove through marcus' drumset at a show, has released an exceptional album, "Stray". Warren rides alone, but buys pitchers for all. His album is accessible to a larger audience than those of TPATY and Joie De Vivre combined, and as such we are breaking up in order to promote Warren's music full-time.

More on this later.

this past weekend we played shows at the rhizome in rock island, il on october 16th & at music @t the mall in keokuk, iowa on october 17th. we slept on floors, drove through corn fields, and got a brief taste of what real life touring bands go through. after keokuk, we drove through the night to rockford, illinois, slept on c-french's floor, and laid down some sick ass vocals for the new version of "sundays" that's coming out on joie de vivre's new record "the north end."

everything was awesome, and we made awesome new friends at both shows. all in all, it was a very midwestern weekend (see: all three towns we went to). only thing that sucks is now i have swine flu.

He was also a very close friend of Johnny Ramone, to whom he dedicated one of his recent movies to.

Do you know who it is?

You'll never fucking believe it.

Read the fact sheet at this link.

You'll probably want to read the autobiography too because, no matter how many shitty movies this guy is in, he has earned my lifelong respect.

It's gonna be a national tragedy when our national treasure Nicolas Cage dies.

in the category section listed above, "Blogging" is a selection. So, our new direction as a band is to keep a blog about blogging.

when i said that our real website, tpaty.com, is better than ever, i lied...it's still pretty lame and shit...and i couldn't quite find out how to get the merch section organized, but i got close. either you give me credit where it's due, or send me a link to a website that you designed that's better, and FUCK YOU.

those last two words, they never get old. isn't every punk song just a roundabout way of saying the same thing?

the best part is that they liken "hey usa" to "america, fuck yeah," which is our 'get pumped' jam, we play it on the way to shows, and sing it when we take breaks during practice. they nailed us.

written by andy downing:

The Please & Thank Yous

Despite the polite name, the Please & Thank Yous are far from goody two-shoes. Just check the local quartet's "The Blow Reilly Factor" (streaming at myspace.com/tpaty), where frontman Geoffrey Schott delivers a hilarious screed that could've earned the crew a mention on the Fox News commentator's "Pinheads and Patriots" segment (sample lyric: "I couldn't even get through the introduction of your book").

Further evidence of the group's offbeat sense of humor can be found by glancing at its MySpace site (Jeremy Upton's contributions are listed as "guitar, aimless banter, stage presence"). But the jokes would mean little if the music didn't work. Fortunately, it does, particularly on the Smoking-Popes-meets-Randy-Newman crunch of "Hey U.S.A.," a clean-cut cousin to "Team America: World Police's" unprintable theme song.

north korea realized that once the nhl and nba seasons ended, there wasn't really a whole lot to keep us distracted over here. given the large amount of political videos michael jackson has made, who's to say he and kim jung il didn't come to a consensus that the time was right for him to go? surely they both knew that our media would eat it up for weeks on end.

i don't participate in anti-semite sentiment, but this gave me a chance to sustain a good laugh. i can't use wingidngs here to represent symbols so if you watch a lot of tv you'll have to dust of that old imagination of yours and put it to work for once!

so far belleville has been the farthest we've ever travelled to play a show, and it was totally fucking worth it. our experience summed up (as if a simple list of +'s and-'s could do our trip justice...pch):

+ meeting all sorts of awesome kids, some of whom will live by us by august
+ john from trenchfoot's list of music he likes on his myspace
+ sean from suburban epidemic giving us gas money!!!! <3333333333333333
+ best ratio of guys to girls at a show we've ever scene
+ sick lineup
+ BOXES OF FREE RECORDS FOR THE TAKING AFTER THE SHOW!!! (wtf? so sweet)
+ best zine name ever: "my favorite band is lamb of god" -- "it's true!"
+ geoff's first trip to waffle house after the show (delish, lolz)
+ laughing our asses off the entire way there, and back
+ getting enough monetary compensation to get us home <3
+ bahston accents
+ 90 degree weather

- tryin to sleep on the way home, from 1-5am
- geoff skipping class and sleeping all the next day

+/- still being soaked in sweat when we got home

as you can see the pluses clearly outweigh the minuses, so we're already talking about setting up another time to head down there and play a couple of other places on the way.

thanks to

these are some of the most ironic lyrics i've ever read, by a band called 'lake county kids'...head over to their myspace to hear more of the same of what you may have heard 3-5 years ago coming out of lake county, or rather, staying in lake county.

THE SCENE IS FUCKING DEAD!

They think they know what music is

Not a song is unique from the last they played

It makes me sick to see what its come to

I can’t believe I’m actually listening to this shit

                                YOU ALL SOUND THE SAME!

i think about this all the time...but in regards to the lake county "hardcore", i can't really imagine who else they'd be yelling at. check out the dial for a self-explanation of how different this band really is
