Hello everyone,
After what seems like FOREVER, I'm finally back and I'm finally updating both of the comics again.
It seems like it's been forever, but it HAS been two months.
I've taken that time to really look at stuff (both in my real life and my creative life) and see what works and what doesn't. I'm sorry that process took so long, I'd wanted to update sooner but my schedule at work has gotten very taxing of late as I train on a new piece of equipment.
Hopefully in a week or so I'll only be working one shift and everything kind finally calm down (more or less). It's odd to me though, since it's been almost a perfect year since I moved to the morning shift.
What an odd year it's been.
While I got used to waking up that early to go to work, I never felt like I really found time to be creative like I had been working nights (i.e. when I launched GEEK). I'm hoping that switching back to a nocturnal way of life will help me reconnect even more with my art and writing.

GEEK 158!!!!
So I'm trying something new art-wise. This is just a start point that I'm going to kind of… well start from. It's very important to me to have GEEK update five days a week (not really sure why) and what I've got set up with the art will allow me to do that.
During my time off I really REALLY looked at GEEK from a writing stand point and made a few decisions about the direction of the strip. Firstly I've decided to go back to the "single strip, single concept" method where each update is a solo piece talking about something or other. Secondly I've decided to kind of dial back the relationship stories. As you'll find this week they're still there, I'm not going to get rid of them completely, but the focus of the comic will be on geeking.

The Jenny Everywhere Chronicles – Issue 2 – Page 6
I still intend to have this comic only update a couple of times a week, but for the next few weeks I want to try and bump that up to three pages in an effort to catch up. If I hadn't shut down I'd be almost done with Issue 2 right now but obviously I'm only a forth of the way there now.
I want to explain something from Page 5 while I've got the chance, the thing that was "moving" behind Chuck at the top of the page is NOT the thing that's causing the alarm (as Page 6 shows you what was). I had thought about a particular design for the Wilson which would involve chunks of the ship sort of floating around a central core (where the bridge and what-not would be). While I still may eventually use that idea, I've kind of scrapped showing it since right now it may confuse people too much.
As this page should reveal as well, while Chaos is RIGHT OUTSIDE the ship, the alarm is only picking up Odious in some other universe!
There's so much to this issue that I really love and can't wait to show you. The character of Odious is one that I started developing when I first found Jenny Everywhere four years ago. He's such a fun character to write and I really REALLY want to show him off to you guys.

You may have noticed at some point during the whole "down-time" thing that I updated the look of the Chronicles website. I finally figured out how to code the pages so if you're on any given issue it shows all the correct stuff including the accurate portrait of the version of Jenny appearing in that issue. If you go back a few pages to where Issue 1 ends and Issue 2 begins you'll see what I'm talking about.

I almost forgot.
I did in fact win the Jenny Everywhere Card Contest. Thank you to everyone who voted for me. At some point later this month the cards go to the printer. I'll let you all know when I've gotten the finished product.

Well that's been one heck of a post up there, so I think I'll leave it at that. I want to thank everyone for reading my stuff and for waiting as I get back on track with everything. It was nice to be able to deal with the gut-punch life dealt to me.
