This is the kind of positive nationalism (with a stronger more-democratic United Nations) the world needs...

Poem 216 of 230:  FOR PEACE

Reading of warred Afghanistan
And its people's book, the Koran,
This bombarded generation
Should, for peace, rebuild a nation
Involving one state/one culture -
    Living by the one native-law.
And, for peace in the Holy Lands,
Three states bordered, for three faiths' hands.

ALL WALKABOUTSVERSE - VIA BLOG-ARCHIVE
(blogs.myspace.com/walkaboutsverse) by David Franks:  a folk musician and poet of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, United Nations

WELCOME ABOARD!

NAVIGATION

Via many chronological archive-blogs (shown a bit like e-books), CONTENTS (below), the Blog-Archive box (above-right) &/or the blue links, you'll find here all the verses in my life's work, WALKABOUTS:  TRAVELS AND CONCLUSIONS IN VERSE, and the, related, C.D. called - CHANTS FROM WALKABOUTS; as well as other, post-WALKABOUTS, information, which is mainly on music, with a bit on gardening and sports, also - set Blog-Archive box to "Jan.2.2008" and click "Go," then return via the "Back to Blog List" link; and please note - the same method may be used to reach any particular poem in CONTENTS, but, to read my collection in order, just use the blue links.  Otherwise...

ALTERNATIVES

walkaboutsverse.sitegoz.com and, the post-WALKABOUTS, davidfranks.sitegoz.com are longish e-scrolls (fully-linked, including one back to myspace) containing the same information as here.  PLEASE NOTE:  the myspace "External Link Alert" is the same for everyone and, the first time on your computer, they may be a tad slow to connect, but are then quick and easy to use.

By clicking the "shoe," you may check a few of my pieces on the profile-playlist, along with pics, plus upcoming performances, etc.

An A4 homemade paperback of WALKABOUTS and a homemade CHANTS FROM WALKABOUTS C.D. have been gifted to some libraries (to purchase, members may send a myspace-message and, non-members, an email or letter via the below addresses in VERSO INFO. - I don't know why Royal Mail gave me England's emergency number P.O. Box 999, but it is genuine and checked quite often).

Here is THE BLURB and VERSO INFO. from the self-published paperback WALKABOUTS:

THE BLURB

"ABOUT THE POET AND THE POETRY:  David Franks was born and, after a long time away, lives in England.  The four-part collection has travels and conclusions, in poems and songs, from his nomadic first-thirty-six years. The experience behind the verse includes shoestring-travel through about forty countries, A-grade junior sport, a B.A. in humanities, four technical certificates in manufacturing, plus several years on the shopfloor. The style is mostly direct; and the substance informative, humorous and didactic."
