Current mood: grateful
Category: Life
it's been a while since i could post anything [since i got myself hacked], but i wanted people to know about something i'm going through so they'll be aware of just how common it is. yesterday, oct. 22, i had day surgury to try to get rid of the pre-cancerous cells up in my girlie parts. although i'm only 25 this is becoming fairly common, even among teens and children! i was lucky they caught it early and i'm doing what i can to get it out of my body, hope they got it all, + hope it doesn't come back.
for those of you who aren't aware of the sliding scale of Cancer/Noncancer cells in the body: normal, abnormal, preCancer I, preCancer II, preCancer III, Cancer I, and Cancer II. I had preCancer II cells, but a very aggressive form that would turn into full blown Cancer within 3 years if I did nothing to try to stop it. it was a short [extremely emotional] ride from the original test Sept17, getting the results in October, two biopsies, those results, to the surgery on the 22.
i had and still have a wonderful support system, through my mom + Delfin, all of my friends that were aware of what was going on, my family (esp Scott), and my coworkers. it also helped that my mom went thought this when i was in high school and could tell me what to expect (along with a coworker, Scott's X, my bosses wife,...). if anyone wants to know any further detail, just let me know.
i hope everyone else is doing well + taking care. *E

Maureen McLaughlin admited to killing 650 animals over the past 5 years in central Ohio. The animals were given to her in hopes of her finding a new home for them, instead she would kill them because she had lost faith in the adoption system. At first she was only charged with 1 count of animal cruelty, because only one carcass was discovered, but more have since piled up. She killed the animals by putting them in a crate, lowering it into water, + holding it there until the animals had drowned. Similar to a serial killer she has kept pieces of fur in envalopes from each victim and labelled + dated them so she could recall each one. Scrawled across some envelopes were: Beloved Romeo, Old Mama, Mr. Big, "Best kitty in all the land", "Such pure love in his golden eyes!!", ... Less than 1% of known animal cruelty cases involve drowning. In her defence McLaughlin said ",I just want people to know that I was trying to prevent a long, protracted, horrible life on the streets with a 90-second death," McLaughlin stated. "It was only 90 seconds. I know it was awful, but it was only 90 seconds." Not all of the animals she killed were strays, one neighbor asked her to care for her cat while she went out of town, when she returned the cat was gone - had been placed in "foster care."

Current mood: lonely
my friend Erin got married a little over a year ago, but is having her vow renewal to Stew this weekend here. it's at Enchanted Rock, which i don't believe i've been to before. it will also be her birthday on sat. i'm looking forward to sat so much, i've not seen Erin or her son Cody in such a long time. i miss her so much. i'm so proud, she caught herself a British bloke. when i hooked a limey brit i had to throw him back. on a completely unrelated note i was on the radio wed morning. on 102.9 they were discussing the dumbest ways people have been dumped, so i called in they put me one first. while getting gifts i picked up a new black dress (yes, i wear black to weddings) + red pop-a-color shoes. where do i get this from... i'm so jelous of Erin, but in a good way ;p now i have Bjork's "i miss you" stuck in my head. i think it's a good description of how i feel right now in general in my life. i'll tried to put it up for those that might want to hear it, but it's a no go. so here are lyrics:
I miss you But I haven't met you yet So special But it hasn't happened yet You are gorgeous But I haven't met you yet I remember But it hasn't happened yet
And if you believe in dreams Or what is more important That a dream can come true I will meet you
I was peaking But it hasn't happened yet I haven't been given My best souvenir I miss you But I haven't met you yet I know your habits But wouldn't recognize you yet
And if you believe in dreams Or what is more important That a dream can come true I will meet you
I'm so impatient I can't stand the wait When will I get my cuddle? Who are you?
I know by now that you'll arrive By the time I stop waiting
I miss you
[i know i'm a hopeless romantic ;p]

i'm thinking of going back to using one of my old nick names that was given to me by Art + Jeff. it's Lady-E-, from Reservior Dogs. good movie. actually, Art's on his way over to hang out. my parents spent the day on a boat - better them than me. i have Like a Virgin stuck in my head. i figure if i ever get preggo when i'm showing i'll wear that says "Like a Virgin", like what Bjork did. i find this funny. yes, this is all out of order, but you can deal with it if you really want to read it. the night before last Jeff made me fish for dinner + turned out great. we also were taking turns making drinks + in the process found some neat sites with odd recipies. iDrink was the one with themed drinks, like Star Wars. last night i went to Club One for a bit for the goth/industrial night. i wish i'd been there longer - the music was pretty good. there was a guy wearing a horse saddle with stirrups, reins, ridding crop,... the whole get up. i got my picture taken with him. we argued some: he wanted me to sit normally, but i was wearing a skirt so he had to go lower down so i could sit like a lady. i'm probably supposed to feel bad about exploiting someones fetish. speaking of which i finally discovered that the 'save a horse, ride a cowboy' stickers are from a song after Club One we went to Monique's for a party. a friend of hers' was moving to Mexico. i'm glad i finally got to meet her, she's neat. i really like her artwork. i'll post some later.
i should go out in vintage more often. i don't think i'd ever received so many compliments. i can fit into any era. i just have to change my hair + most people won't recognize me - it's great.

Current mood: productive
it's a blustery day out - the electricity is flickering i went to see A Scanner Darkly last night at Magnolia with Jeff. i liked it a lot, esp Robert Downey Jr.'s character. i messed around on the web site for a bit, which was much more interactive + interesting than most movies' sites.
the scanner does not see clearly or darkly into me, it just sees. sees what is on the outside + infers the rest. perhaps that is darkly.
