Current mood:  cynical

Is it just me or does the world seem to be going crazy? I'm sure there have always been instances and periods where you could claim that, but it seems lately this is really, REALLY true. It's chaos. The bailout, Octo-Mom, chimps going insane, wars, weird weather... and that's the tip of the iceberg. When I look around, it's like I can see things so clearly, and most people are running around like they can't see anything, like everything is perfectly normal. It's not normal. It's not right. Things are not right. That's part of the reason I stay in. You go out now and try driving around, you could get yourself killed. People are maniacs! If you don't scour the roads, someone WOULD hit you. That's a definite. And it's mainly because they're on cell phones or texting or doing something else, not paying attention. I wonder how many people do this with babies in the car?

Where are all the decent people? I'm not perfect, (WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT FOLLOWS) but for example, I go to a forum to talk about imaginary animated pets you can create and decorate habitats for them to live in with fake coin money ("Superpoke Pets"), and someone's named their pet "Cunt Smellgoodly" or something like that. Why would you do that? That's stupidity, pure ignorance- even for a teenager trying to be clever and shocking. And children play there.

There has to be a line. As someone who has seen almost every season of South Park, even I know when enough is enough. Are we going to get to the point where literally anything goes and there is no respect or thought put into anything or take anyone else in consideration before doing what we want when we want.

The joke is, the government would have you think they ARE looking out for you and care about you. Don't believe it. Everything they do is for a calculated reason that they haven't released to the general public. They want us all dependent on them and so they pillow talk us into hopefully believing they want what's best for us.

Pffft.

What the ----?! So my mom tells me she saw there was a recall of a crib with a brand that has the word "Stork" in it. Sure enough, we look online and the crib I JUST bought her for $300 online at babiesrus.com has been recalled, The Storkcraft Angelina crib.

The crib is still in the box. Apparently, the company is just giving out "replacement bracket kits," so I sent an email for one online, after trying to call and getting a busy message.

It looks like people have been trying to get in touch with them with no luck. I read stories of people holding for hours and trying to call but getting a busy signal for hours. The website was down for hours, but I did get through right away myself.

Isn't that crazy? Geez.

She is really getting weird. I feel bad for her kids and her ex, Guy Ritchie. Talk about a control freak.

Ever heard of genetically engineered food? GE foods? Codex Alimentarius? Monsanto?

A major theme of supporters of biotechnology is that genetic engineering of food is necessary to help solve world hunger

It's really a political issue.

The idea behind genetically engineered food is to design them "stronger," able to withstand environmental factors, resistance to pests and pesticides,  resistance to rotting,  for added vitamins, etc.

However, the long term effects are very uncertain.

One study showed that female rats fed GM soy had a 55.6% birth fatality rate compared with 6.8% of rats in a control group and 9% fed regular soy. The rats born in the GM group were also significantly smaller. Hmmm....

I'm not going to go into simply listing every study showing this, but the information is out there if you search for it!

On to Monsanto (which is a major producer of GM seeds.)

Many American politicians have ties to Monsanto. Whatever Monsanto tells us is safe is assumed to be safe. This is the company behind aspartame and Nutrasweet. Monsanto also deals in the herbicide business (very profitably). Their best selling retail product is called RoundUp, which has been shown to cause cancer and affect sex hormones.

You can go down the rabbit hole searching online for the hidden dangers of Monsanto and GE's tampering with our food supplies. A good place to start is here. The bovine growth hormones come from Monsanto. These people are telling us irradiating our food is harmless. A French study showed that feeding sheep Monsanto GM corn caused liver, blood, and kidney damage.

Arpad Pusztai was championed as an expert scientist until he dared publicly state that feeding GM potatoes to rats caused intestinal and immune system damage.

On 10th October, the day that the documentary was due to be broadcast he was invited onto an early morning television debate, but informed beforehand by the Rowett Institute that he was not permitted to discuss details of the experiment. That morning, the Rowett Institute received two phone calls from 10 Downing Street. [5] According to Professor Robert Orskov OBE, who worked at the Rowett for 33 years and is one of Britain's leading nutrition experts. The phone calls went from Monsanto, the American firm which produces 90% of the world's GM food, to Bill Clinton and then to Tony Blair, and then to Rowett direcor Philip James.[6]

He was fired and a coverup ensued. Suddenly he was not an expert, his research was confiscated, the potatoes destroyed, and denials and attempts to smear Pusztai came from above.

This is but the tip of the iceberg.

Codex Alimentarius.  Seems harmless. It's an international group associated with the United Nations and World Health Organization (WHO) that establishes guidelines on nutrition and safety practices with foods, labeling, etc. etc. The insidious nature of Codex is that it alone wants to decide what foods and vitamins are good for us. It alone decides what toxins can be allowed in foods at "acceptable" levels. It alone decides which genetically engineered foods we consume.

Codex guidelines are more than helpful suggestions; they are quantified rules enforceable by a network of treaties and trade agreements adjudicated by World Trade Organization tribunals.

Codex even has the right to ban vitamins from grocery stores and make them prescription only! Codex views vitamins as toxic because they can kill in huge doses and recommends putting minimal amounts if food to prevent this!

Who is codex concerned with? Big Pharma, Big Agri, Big Chema, etc. The corporations, NOT the average person. All these groups are poisoning us! This is population control. Put chemicals and toxins in our food supply while taking out the nutrients, products that kill and cause serious harm to animals, that's what we're supposed to live on.

Some Codex standards that will take effect on December 31, 2009 and once initiated are completely irrevocable.

Go to the link to see what those are. They include irradiating all food, taking out nutrients or putting minimal amounts in, fluoride will be allowed of course (the first ingredient in rat poison), all dairy cows (including organic dairy products) must have hormones, aflotoxin is allowed (Aflotoxin is the second most potent -non-radiation- carcinogenic compound known to man), pesticide residue is ok.

In 1995, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) created an illegal policy stating that international standards (i.e, Codex) would supersede U.S. laws governing all food even if these standards were incomplete [5]. Furthermore, in 2004 the U.S. passed the Central American Free Trade Agreement (illegal under U.S. law, but legal under international law) that requires the U.S. to conform to Codex in December of 2009 [6].

Once these standards are adopted there is no possible way to return to the standards of the old. Once Codex compliance begins in any area, as long as we remain a member of the WTO, it is totally irrevocable. These standards are then unable to be repealed, changed or altered in any way shape or form [1, 2, 7].

The tip of the iceberg. Don't think just because the FDA or a politician or a major corporation tells you something is good for you, it is. This is Democrats and Republicans. They are not looking out for you or your families. They don't care if you are healthy, in fact, it better suits them if you are not (but you can bet their families will be). They want you to rely on their drugs, their medicine, their rules, their guidelines. Do the research. The world is not a pretty place out there. And up at the top, the ones who are making the decisions...they think nothing of sending thousands - or millions - to their graves. It's the truth!

You won't see this on the evening news.

I thought this quiz was kind of cool. I think I pick up on others' emotions quite easily. Sometimes it gets confused with my own emotions. It's interesting to read about.

You scored as a Universal

You are a Universal Empath, you possess all the qualities of the other seven empath groups. You are what is known as an "Implicate" or Imp, a product of evolutionary design and genetic mutation. You are a psychic hybrid. (from "The Book of Storms" by Jad Alexander at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Empaths/)

You know what's really annoying? People who "borrow" stuff and never return it. If you can't bother to buy your own stuff and have to turn to mooching off others, the least you could do is be mindful enough to give it back! What's up with that?

And people who block driveways while driving! Hello, driving 101. They're there for a reason - because people pull out of them. When you're blocking that driveway, they can't get out. Duh.

Either people are clueless or they don't care - and both of those reasons suck. You aren't the only one existing, be courteous! Sheesh.

(Disclaimer: No one's perfect, we've all made mistakes or been at fault at times, but the people who do these things seem to do it all the time, and it's freakin annoying!)

You look at the news, there's violence, war, deceit, materialism, aggression, people who are starving, lying, thievery, manipulation, to name just a few of our more current prominent traits.

Our political candidates have to look for ways to paint an insulting portrait of their opposition, rather than just proving they are the better person for the job. People don't want to hear about positive things. It's the sensationalism, the SHOCKING controversial slips of the tongue these people have engaged in.

There are folks in the middle east who have been fighting a religious war for thousands of years, who use children as bait to kill unsuspecting enemies, who use hospitals and churches as sanctuaries, endangering the lives of those who are just there to grow spiritually.

Slavery was acceptable and expected in our not too distant past, we ravaged entire cultures such as the Native Americans, to the point where all that is left of these nature-loving groups are passed down word of mouth stories, museums, and reservations. Women were treated a step above pets (and slaves), and we murdered many of those who looked different, spoke their mind, or tried to take control of their life (but weren't high enough up on the food chain).

We champion millionaires who do nothing more than say nasty things about each other, wear expensive clothes, make sex tapes, sing about shooting each other and banging 'ho's, compete to do the most outrageous things, etc. etc. These people are the role models of the time, selling such emptiness and lack of character and substance, yet we cry for more.

We have settled for such crap. Are we truly content to sit in front of our great teacher, the television - which could only possibly be outdone by the internet, and what would happen if both were suddenly taken away, would we surive (*sarcasm*) - allowing ourselves to be programmed and molded by advertisers and writers with only their own best interests, and checking accounts, at heart?

I wonder, are all of these things truly human nature? Is this all the culmination of thousands of years of development, our pride and joy? Is this the natural course of events, that a civilization, when given technology and possessions and a system of money, takes it to the nth level, exploits those around them, whoever they can, in order to get one step ahead? Are we really slaves to the "7 Deadly Sins?"

Are we truly incapable of "getting along" with each other, will we ever be content with the land we have rather than trying acquire more - by force if necessary (just because we think we deserve it), and stop opposing the religious freedom of others? Is war inevitable for our species? Are we destined to always distrust, accuse, instigate, and oppose, rather than compromise, accept, reveal, and share?

This could all possibly be nothing more than the signs of a baby species learning how to walk. Maybe we just have to get out all this negativity before we can enjoy true fellowship with each other. Is it so horrible to acknowledge the equal worth of those different from you? Who cares if they wear different clothes, pray to a different god, love those you couldn't love.

Love knows no boundaries. Are we afraid to truly love one another? For that would mean SHARING, and we have grown up believing some should be rich and some poor. Some are destined for suffering, some are destined to be King. I believe this way of thinking is outdated and unsustainable. Time will tell.

Perhaps we are innocents, being manipulated by unseen forces, swayed by a dark nemesis. Or have we honestly and subconsciously chosen this path? If the latter is true, do we as a species have a death wish? I don't see how this path is sustainable for the indefinite future. Or is the saying "out of sight out of mind" appropriate here, the future is too far away, so not worth doing anything about. Let whoever's around then deal with it.

Is it really so difficult to change, just a little bit, to start thinking independently instead of blindly using the lines we've been taught or heard a public figure say. Is peace always going to be just out of reach? Is it so offensive to ask that everyone has something to eat and access to basic human needs like shelter? Some of us, myself included, are busting out of our seams, while others literally die from lack of food. Yet, in many places, were we to offer assistance, violent warlords would horde the food and medicines for greedy purposes.

What is the answer? What do we do? And what do those of us do when there are millions who don't want to do anything?

The Vatican's chief astronomer says that believing in aliens does not contradict faith in God.

The Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, the Jesuit director of the Vatican Observatory, says that the vastness of the universe means it is possible there could be other forms of life outside Earth, even intelligent ones.

In an interview published Tuesday by Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano, Funes says that such a notion "doesn't contradict our faith" because aliens would still be God's creatures.

The interview was headlined "The extraterrestrial is my brother." Funes said that ruling out the existence of aliens would be like "putting limits" on God's creative freedom.

The American Dental Association says we should avoid babies drinking fluoride.

Don't use flouride water with baby formula

But I thought it was good for us?

"In summary, we hold that fluoridation is an unreasonable risk." - US ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY HEADQUARTERS' UNION, 2001.

"Over the past ten years a large body of peer-reviewed science has raised concerns that fluoride may present unreasonable health risks, particularly among children, at levels routinely added to tap water in American cities." - ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING GROUP, July 2005

"I am quite convinced that water fluoridation, in a not-too-distant future, will be consigned to medical history." - Dr. ARVID CARLSSON, Winner, Nobel Prize for Medicine (2000).

Fluoride decreases your IQ and causes brain dysfunction, especially with the pineal gland (which interestingly enough is associated with the third eye, enlightenment, wisdom). Why am I not surprised they would not want us developing more powerful brains?

In support of this concern are results from two epidemiology studies from China (5,6) that show decreases in I.Q. in children who get more fluoride than the control groups of children in each study. These decreases are about 5 to 10 I.Q. points in children aged 8 to 13 years. Another troubling brain effect has recently surfaced: fluoride's interference with the function of the brain's pineal gland. The pineal gland produces melatonin which, among other roles, mediates the body's internal clock, doing such things as governing the onset of puberty. Jennifer Luke (7) has shown that fluoride accumulates in the pineal gland and inhibits its production of melatonin. She showed in test animals that this inhibition causes an earlier onset of sexual maturity, an effect reported in humans as well in 1956, as part of the Kingston/Newburgh study, which is discussed below. In fluoridated Newburgh, young girls experienced earlier onset of menstruation (on average, by six months) than girls in non-fluoridated Kingston (8).

Why EPA HQ Union Opposes Flouride

Are we being experimented on?

If fluoride is so good for you, why was it considered the major chemical health hazard for workers during production of the atomic bomb in WWII (yes, fluoride was a key ingredient)? The first lawsuits against the U.S. A-bomb program were not over radiation, but over fluoride damage.

Fluoride, teeth, and the atomic bomb

Just because the government says something is good doesn't mean it is. In many instances, it means the exact opposite is true!
