June 12, 2009 - Friday

I will no longer be participating on MySpace regularly. I was originally going to delete my entire account, but decided to just clean it up and disable much of it instead so that people could still find me and contact me if they have no other means to do so. So, that is why my page and contents are so "empty".
The only thing MySpace is good for lately is to
stay on the friends lists of people I know and be able to access their profiles and content if they are private. That's another reason
I decided not to delete the account. That, and who knows if I will want to return someday. I'm not leaving permanently, just drastically cutting back on my participation on the site. So please, don't delete me! :)
Starting on June 15th, 2009, I will stop logging in on MySpace regularly. Instead I will only be logging in every 1 or 2 months to check mail and comments for anyone wishing to contact me. I will also still be accepting legitimate friend requests. Those not on my friends list have the option of either sending me MySpace mail or leaving a comment on this blog. Those who are on my friends list can do both of those as well as leave a comment on my profile. Just don't expect a response right away, it may be a few weeks, even.
But outside of that, and as to why I am "leaving" MySpace, I am personally finding that my life will be more positive without MySpace in it for several reasons. MySpace seems to breed or foster a social culture I don't wish to be a part of any more. I can't really explain this part of it very well, I just find that whenever I log in lately, I wish I hadn't. It doesn't contribute anything positive to my life or my personal growth, it actually kind of has the opposite effect, because of the type of people MySpace seems to attract. I'm not knocking anyone, and I have nothing personal against MySpace. I just have simply outgrown MySpace and the culture that goes with it. There's also a more personal reason I am leaving MySpace that I can't really share here. But long story short, it's just time for me to move on. So that's what I am doing.
I will be exclusively on Facebook from now on. I still participate quite heavily there. I've found Facebook seems to have more of the type of social culture that I can identify with. If you'd like to add me on Facebook, mail me the email address you use to log in on Facebook and I will add you as a friend. Or you can leave it in the comments to this blog if you wish, but be aware others will be able to see it.
You can also find me on AIM at the screen name "oinkydoodle". I prefer Facebook, but I know not everyone uses that site.
See you around. :)
