Current mood:forgiven
I've often wondered why Men of God, or anyone for that matter, compromise. When do we make that fateful decision to let sin and iniquity into our lives? When do we say that, "Lord, you aren't enough for me?" Because, as I look back, that is exactly what I see us do when we let this sin and iniquity creep into our lives.

Why do we allow the enemy to come in and destroy us? Take everything from us. Why? When do we say that our families or our marriages are no longer important? Why do we make decisions, that change our own fate? Decisions that alter our path and our calling. Decisions that change our future. Decisions that not only affect us, but usually these decisions and these choices, affect everyone in our lives. EVERYONE. People are hurt over these choices. A choice made can kill a marriage. One choice, sometimes lasting seconds or even minutes, can destroy something that has taken many years to build.

Casting Crowns wrote a song, "Slow Fade." I hear these words and get shaken to my Spirit. Because any of these sinful choices can and will cause a slow fade in our lives. A slow fade of our beliefs. A slow fade away from our kids and families. A slow fade away from our marriages.

The bottom line, is sinful decisions and sinful choices will cost us. I have seen it in my own life. I made choices that altered my very own life. That ended a marriage and damaged my kids. Choices that changed things forever. And I will live with that. Someone very close to me once said, "How can you blame someone for the wreck, when you were the one in control of the wheel?" So very true.

One thing I have learned lately, is that God can and will repair damage caused by our sinful choices if we repent and let Him do His Will. We need to take responsibility. Be accountable. And not blame the world for what happened when we caused the wreck. If you are the runaway train, then take ownership and let God restore you. Because although He can heal the damage, the fact is that there is damage in the first place. He can bring forgiveness and restoration. he can heal the broken hearts. He can restore life, where death was once spoken. But, there was damage that should've never been there in the first place.
I was led to Psalm 51 this morning. God restored King David after he repented of his horrible sins. He forgave him. And David became known to us as a worshipper and a man after God's own heart. But, for the rest of David's earthly life, he had to live with the consequences of his choices. His lifestyle and his actions, left a mark on those around him.

I am not perfect. As a Man of God, and as a human, I have made choices that caused much damage. I have said things to my wife, to my children, to my family, to my friends and to those I care for the most, that has hurt them severely. I am a sinner. I am ashamed of things I have done and things that I have uttered in anger. I take that guilt to God daily.

God led me to be transperent this morning. To be honest in front of the world. To apologize and repent of my actions. And not only today. But for the rest of my life, I know He wants me to be humble on my face every day before him.

As one season ends in my life, I just want to seek God's face for the future. I believe He still has a plan. For me. For my wife. For my kids. I know His hand is still upon them and upon me. I am also so very thankful that He has brought someone into my life that loves me and cares for me very much. I still have many good friends who believe in me.
As I walk into this new season, am I afraid? Somewhat. But I look forward to the uncertainty. Because that means I no longer have the wheel. He does.
I embrace my future learning from the major lessons of my past. My past mistakes. My past choices. And my past sin & iniquity. I walk into my future firmly believing in God's power to forgive & restore. I am so thankful today for His mercy, for His grace and for His unfailing love. The last year and a half have been the hardest time of my life, by far. Much of it was caused by me. But, HE and HE alone has control of my future, my dreams, my vision and my life. He alone guides me. He alone knows where I am going. He alone has the power to lead me.

Current mood:Broken for this generation
My friends and family,
This week, Pueblo mourns the loss of a young man, Elias Castro, age 14, who died in a rollover accident on I-25 near downtown on Sunday afternoon. The driver of the car was driving drunk as she rolled the car 3 times, ejecting Elias from the vehicle. Her, along with her 5 year old son were also critically injured. She is charged with DUI and Vehicular Homicide. Please pray for this family, as they not only lost their young son, but an Aunt who will now probably face prison time for causing his death due to drinking and driving.
This senseless death hits close to him, as Elias was a very close friend of my daughter. She, along with many of her friends, have been devastated.
Use this as an opportunity to minister to your children and youth about the dangers of drinking. Last year (2008), the homicides in Pueblo, Colorado went up 62%! And most of them involved alcohol somehow. Alcohol, along with drugs, suicide and abortion, are factors that are devastating our young population! We must fight! We cannot give up any more of our young people to situations such as this. A senseless death that could've been avoided. A tragic loss, not only for the Castro family, but for the community as a whole.

THE PRAYER & WORSHIP CENTER-PUEBLO, COLORADO LAUNCHES

Dear Friend in Christ,

Many events, concerts and other opportunities come our way all year long. Most of us are busy in our own ministries with services or programs. Life often becomes so consumed with activities and necessary demands that we lose perspective on our own spiritual condition. Most of us don't pause long enough to just refresh. A lot of us are running on empty. Most of us know what it's like to be empty or dry; to feel overextended or overused! A lot of us let ourselves go and go and go until we are exhausted or burnt out!

Most of us have had to deal with personal problems in our lives. Many of these problems could be avoided if we would just slow down, take a breath and listen to what God is trying to whisper into our lives. We find ourselves looking for answers all over the place: in books or conferences; in seminars and workshops; through preachers and evangelists and worship teams. And what we need to do is simple: pray and worship.

The launch of the PRAYER & WORSHIP CENTER here in Pueblo, Colorado is not another church or event. It is a center where anyone from any church or walk of life can come and pray and worship the savior; a place where you can come and just be refreshed; a place where the hungry and desperate will gather to pursue after our God. The purpose is to provide a focus on the Presence of our Father, where broken people can come to press in; where hurting people can come; where dying people can come; where those that need healing can come. An atmosphere into which the lost can come, the saved can come, those who need to be restored can be restored; where all of us can come for the simple purpose of praying and worshipping.

This isn't about an event. This isn't about an agenda. This isn't about a man or preacher or evangelist. This isn't about a band or worship team. This is about our God and spending time with Him; spending time in His Presence.

How far are you willing to go to see the POWER of GOD in your life? How far? Will you press in? Do you want change in your life? Do you want to see change in this city? Are you ready to encounter the powerful Presence of the living God?

You will have an opportunity on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month to contribute to changing the spiritual atmosphere in this city, in your life, and in the lives of others. If you are a Senior or Lead Pastor, please prayerfully consider your involvement, as well as letting your congregation know. If you are a worship leader or member of a worship team and would like to lead worship during one of these days, please discuss it with your pastor then get in touch with the leadership team listed at the bottom of this letter. If you are a youth or young adult leader/pastor, please bring your groups. No matter who you are or what your background is, LET PEOPLE KNOW about this awesome new encounter.

Remember, the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month, at 6:30 pm, starting on Saturday, January 3rd, the Prayer & Worship Center will be open for a powerful time. A poster is attached. Feel free to use it or give it away. Small flyers are also available if you need them.

The address is:

The following letter from Dutch Sheets is very important for us in the aftermath of the election. Here are a few of the points that I really appreciated:

Was what happened Tuesday God's will? I am quite confident it was not. America was offered a very clear choice between moving further toward protecting the unborn or further away; between a Supreme Court that would move toward honoring God, life and morality or away from it. The stakes couldn't have been higher nor the cost greater. And in doing so we took another step away from God and His plans for America, and another step toward judgment.

I have heard the argument that God cares as much about social justice issues (such as poverty and racism) as He does abortion, making a vote for Obama OK. I certainly believe God puts a very high priority on caring for the poor and I, too, have wanted to see equality demonstrated through a "minority" president. But to equate having a better income or the desire for a first black president, regardless of his positions ..ion and morality, to the issue of killing 50 million babies is not justice-it is a gross distortion of justice and great deception.

I also believe it is blood sacrifice that empowers demons.
Though I understand our reasons, we must be careful in our attempts to placate our feelings and calm our fears through religious phrases like "God is still on the throne" or "God has a plan". He was on His throne 35 years and 50 million babies ago. And He had a plan back then.

I've been asked if my feelings about Sarah Palin have changed. They have not. I believe she is an Esther, a Deborah, with a huge mantle from God for reformation. God has a great destiny for her related to this nation if she chooses to continue down this path.

  • Now, here's the letter in full:

    November 6, 2008
I feel certain that many in my stream of the Church want a statement from me concerning Tuesday's presidential election. I will be frank in my remarks but I do not, however, intend to vent anger or attack anyone. I have read several statements from friends and colleagues I respect very much.
Their thoughts are well stated and, for the most part, insightful. None of them, however, seem to want to say some things that I believe need to be said. I do not claim infallibility or to have the final word, but my convictions run deep and I believe I bear a God-given responsibility to share them.

  • Was This God's Will?

Was what happened Tuesday God's will? I am quite confident it was not. America was offered a very clear choice between moving further toward protecting the unborn or further away; between a Supreme Court that would move toward honoring God, life and morality or away from it. The stakes couldn't have been higher nor the cost greater. As a nation we put on blinders concerning Barak Obama's background, associations, beliefs and practices, and set these causes back years, possibly decades.
And in doing so we took another step away from God and His plans for America, and another step toward judgment.

  • Judgment Will Increase

This is not a fire and brimstone warning from an angry, legalistic preacher. In fact, I feel more sadness and grief than anything else.
Perhaps I feel what Jesus felt as He wept for Jerusalem while announcing its judgment. I am not hoping for judgment; I am saying it is inevitable. I don't know where the unbiblical belief comes from that says a nation can live any way it pleases, can reject God and His ways-even mock Him-and not receive His judgments. Nor do I know when the belief came that it is always mean-spirited or judgmental to warn of these things. To the contrary, I believe it is our responsibility.
In warning of judgment, I am not suggesting that God is going to intentially and directly hurt people. Much judgment is simply the absence of God's protection and provision, caused by a rejection of His laws and ways. We have been experiencing some forms of judgment in America for years, but God in His incredible patience and mercy has kept us from the level we've deserved. I believe this will change to a degree and judgment will now increase:

For those in the Church who aligned themselves with pro-abortion forces, I believe judgment will result.
For leaders in the Body of Christ who refused to take a stand for fear of losing people, money, and tax-exempt status-I believe there will be a degree of judgment.
For those, both within the Church and without, who voted money over morality-a potential raise or better health insurance over the life of a baby-there will be judgment. (The irony is that this decision to base one's vote on the hopes of a better economy won't produce the hoped for result anyway. The scriptures teach that it is righteousness which exalts a nation and that the nation is blessed whose God is the Lord.)
I fear that we have been desensitized to this issue of abortion. I believe it kills babies and takes innocent life. I also believe it is blood sacrifice that empowers demons. Let's not forget this in our noble attempts to be kind and conciliatory.
For African Americans I can easily see how it could bring healing to have a first black president, just as it would be for Native Americans to achieve this or for women if a woman were elected president. Again, I have wanted to see justice in this way. I am only saddened that the price for this healing ended up being Barak Obama, a man that will set the cause of life and, most-likely, our God-given destiny as a nation back so drastically. (I also realize there are some who interpret any criticism of Obama as racism. Racism is so NOT what I am about nor what I live, that I will not even dignify any such accusations with a response.)

  • What Can We Expect?

What are some of the judgments we can expect on our nation from this election?

    More economic woes
More violence in an already violent nation
Disease and death (satan, who is responsible for these things will have greater inroads to our nation.)
Natural disasters (weather-tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, drought; fires; earthquakes; etc.)
Terrorism (they will fear us much less now)
War, perhaps on our own soil
Judgments relating to the Court. The stacking of the Supreme Court against the sanctity of life and God's influence on America will occur, which will in turn cause the shedding of more innocent blood, more rejection of God's laws and the stealing from us of our godly heritage-all of which will perpetuate a cycle of even more judgment.
    How Did This Happen?

I've been asked if this could have been averted had there been more prayer. I'm not sure. I believe there was a remnant of Christians fervently praying over these elections-I don't think there was anything more they could have done. Others, obviously, should have done more. The complacency and lack of discernment concerning our real condition in America-especially by the Church-is both appalling and horrifying. America is in serious trouble and it seems no one wants to say it. Fewer still are willing to do anything to change it.
Though I understand our reasons, we must be careful in our attempts to placate our feelings and calm our fears through religious phrases like "God is still on the throne" or "God has a plan". He was on His throne 35 years and 50 million babies ago. And He had a plan back then. The problem is, it was us. I understand our reasons for waving high the banner of God's sovereignty at times like these-it gives us hope. I will wave it, as well.
But please be careful with this. Too much emphasis on God's sovereignty and we're worthless; too little and we're hopeless. Maybe we should say, "we lost a critical battle but God will give us strategy to win the war." Then find the strategy.
But still yet, since God is usually willing to work through a remnant, I thought we had enough prayer. Obviously, God decided otherwise. There comes a time when He will not forgive or bless the majority based on the prayers or actions of only a few. America rejected God and asked for a king; I believe we now have our Saul (see 1 Samuel 8:5-7)-a man who does not have God's heart for America but his own. Like Israel in scripture, our nation believes it can turn from God and still be blessed. In His mercy and justice He will show us otherwise.
Like many, believing I had many promises and confirmations that God would "grace" us with a pro-life president in this election, I failed to consider strongly enough that all promises-even scripture-are conditional 99.9% of the time. Though I never prophesied or made guarantees that McCain-Palin would win, failing to factor this principle in strongly enough no doubt caused me to share my optimism with others inappropriately. If this caused any harm or confusion, I apologize.
Has the fact that my prayers weren't answered shaken my faith? No. I'm a little confused and discouraged. I'm also somewhat angry at the nation in general and much of the Church. Mostly I'm grieving over the nation and what this will cost us. I am not, however, angry with God and do not question His justice. And it is not true that we wasted our time, energy and money in our efforts anymore than it is a waste when we share the gospel with people who don't get saved. We must keep in the forefront of our thinking the fact that ultimately we are doing this for Him and that He will reward us for our faithfulness. And who knows, perhaps He will store up all those prayers for the next battle (Revelation 5:8, 8:3-5).

A friend and fellow warrior said it well,

"We did 'give it our all.' I know the Lord was pleased with that. A coach wants to know one thing at the end of a heartbreaking sports loss: 'Did you leave it all on the field?' (your passion, your commitment, your strength, your courage, etc.) I know that we 'left it all on the field.' We didn't hold anything back until the game ended. Tragically, it ended in defeat. We will rise for another day because Jesus is worthy."

  • Where Do We Go from Here?

Does this election outcome shake my faith that we can see a great awakening and ultimately reformation in America? Absolutely not (and it strengthens my resolve). We will simply get there through greater pain and loss. Even my passion to see the Supreme Court shift is not from a presupposition that there can be no spiritual awakening without it. It is simply due to my deep conviction that their decisions bring so much death, destruction, curses and judgment to America; and because our full destiny as a nation is unquestionably linked to their decisions. So, yes, we will get an awakening and reformation; but the reality is that this reformation of the nation will reform the Supreme Court (and government, in general), not vice-versa. My faith has never been in people or a political party; my faith is in the God who works through them.
I've been asked if my feelings about Sarah Palin have changed. They have not. I believe she is an Esther, a Deborah, with a huge mantle from God for reformation. God has a great destiny for her related to this nation if she chooses to continue down this path.
So, in conclusion, we must re-group as an apostolic, praying church and advance. We must maintain an immovable faith in God, His plans for America and His mercy. And we must move beyond simply asking God for a spiritual awakening and ask Him for strategy to produce reformation, as well. I, for one, am just getting started!
For God and this great nation,
    Dutch Sheets

    Current mood:Sad...but hopeful
    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

    Well my friends,
It is official, Barack Obama has been elected as the 44th President of the United States of America. I sat here all evening watching the different news channels reporting the results. I know so many others did the same. So many people are probably hurt right now. Those that didn't believe he should win. And on the other hand...many are excited and happy about the changes he will bring.

Look, I can take the Christian perspective here and talk about why a lot of us voted against him. But I am not going to. I will say a few things. And whether you agree or not is okay.

First of all...HISTORY was made. I do believe in my heart that this country has come a long way. I DO NOT agree with many of his policies. But not a single American can deny the fact that we made history by electing the first African-American President in our nations history. A huge day for minorities in this country. A huge day for all AMERICANS. This is the kind of stuff that will be in the history books. And of course, I was excited by the addition of Sarah Palin to the Presidential race. I thought it was a very bold move by the McCain team to ask her to come on board as the potential Vice-President. Her being on the ticket made history as well.

I am not going to speak to you just as "Pastor D." I am also going to speak to you as an American citizen. Someone who loves this country. A country that is free...truly free. A country that has allowed me the FREEDOM to worship God. To attend church. To speak my mind!

This GREAT COUNTRY needs its people to come together now. We need to cross party lines. We are not Republicans or Democrats or Independents. WE ARE ALL AMERICANS!!! This country has so many obstacles and challenges ahead of us. It is time for us to come together and once again strengthen this great country.

And Christians....let me address you for a minute. I know the issues at hand. I also disagree with Obama and many of his policies. I disagree with the many races and amendments and ballots we lost across the country tonight. But, what are we to do now? How about we pray for our next President, Barack Obama? Isn't he the man that GOD has allowed to win this election? How about we pray that God would get a hold of his heart? How about WE UNITE AS CHRIST INTENDED? It isn't us against the world my friends. It isn't us against them. Do not fear what is ahead. Embrace it. Pray my friends. Intensify your efforts in reaching the lost. Continue to fight against abortion and other moral issues. Don't give up. LET THIS ELECTION BE AN EYE OPENER FOR US!!! Christians....Americans....it is time for us to listen to the voice of God......today was so crucial. But tomorrow is even more crucial.

    Let's move forward together......

Due to some unfortunate personal circumstances, the Restoration Center services came to a stop in May of 2008. After a time of healing and restoration for this great ministry vision, we will once again be re-launching the Restoration Center in September of 2009. In preparation for this RELAUNCHED version of the RC, we will begin holding our monthly (or bi-monthly) Saturday night worship service called, "The Restoration Worship Project," in January of 2009.

You will see a revamped vision. We will be more of a ministry center than just a "church." Yes we will still have a powerful Sunday morning worship service, along with a powerful Saturday night worship service. But you will now see a much more well rounded ministry drop in center, where worship and prayer will be constant.

So...we are looking for people in the Pueblo, Colorado/ Southern Colorado area that want to help us with the RC ReLaunch. From Worship team members to Youth Leaders to Children ministry leaders.

Please consider joining our efforts as we reach Pueblo and Southern Colorado. And if anything...please pray!!!

    Thank you....Dominic "Pastor D" Suazo

    Current mood:Just Thinking......
Every once in awhile I run across something that I feel needs to be reposted. This following study by Gloria Copeland called "Seek Love And Stop Strife," was definitely something I felt needed to be reposted......

    Seek Love And Stop Strife
    By Gloria Copeland

Seek Love – overlook an offense. The most hazardous weapon the devil uses against us is also the foremost enemy of Love. I'm talking about strife.

Strife means "vigorous or bitter conflict, discord and antagonism; to quarrel, struggle or clash; competition; rivalry." This dangerous sin is an open door to the devil. It gives him license to bring confusion and evil into our lives. The Bible tells us how to avoid strife: "He who covers and forgives and offense seeks love, but he who repeats or haps on a matter separates even close friends" (Proverbs 17:9 Amp). So what is the answer to avoiding strife? Well, most importantly, you are to yield to love. If you want peace in your life, give peace to others. Walk in love. Be quick to forgive and overlook an offense. Don't repeat matters that cause strife. We can also avoid strife through forgiveness: "Good sense makes a man restrain his anger, and it is his glory to overlook a transgression or an offense" (Proverbs 19:11 Amp). You know, the devil will always try to make us think the way the world thinks.
The world says, "If someone mistreats or insults you, the only 'macho' response is to give him on right between the eyes!"

That's because the devil operates and thrives on strife, since strife gives him an open door. The Bible says that where there is strife, there is also confusion and every evil work (James 3:16). Satan likes that kind of atmosphere. It breeds evil.

The devil tries to cause us to think like the world thinks. He wants us to believe that we have to defend ourselves when we are insulted. He wants us to think, I'm going to get the last word. I'll give that guy a piece of my mind! But no one needs a piece of your mind.
You should keep all you have!

The Bible says it is to your glory to overlook an offense. It also says you have good sense when you restrain your anger. Actually, insults won't hurt you if you don't partake of them – if you refuse to allow them into your spirit. You can forgive the person and go on peacefully, knowing that you just exhibited wisdom. Not only did you respond in wisdom, but you are still free from the trap of the devil.

Love Stops Strife Before It Breaks Out

Let's look at another important key to getting rid of strife: "The beginning of strife is as when water first trickles (from a crack in a dam): therefore stop contention before it becomes worse and quarreling breaks out" (Proverbs 17:14 Amp).

You will never have a happy home if you don't resist strife. You see, Satan wants to stop your faith from working, so he'll try to slip in the back way and trick you into opening the door of your life to him.

Getting you into strife gives him a way in. Strife may seem to start out small, but really there is no such thing as insignificant strife. Strife left unchecked will flood your life like an ugly torrent.

The enemy likes to bring you an opportunity to get into a conflict with someone, because he knows that the moment you step into strife he can gain mastery over you. He uses strife to interrupt the flow of love in your life. And once he's gotten you out of love, then he can cancel out your faith because faith works by love (Galatians 5:6). Love is our commandment. Jesus said, "This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you" (John 15:12).

So if you want to walk in the power and blessing of God, don't open the door to the devil through strife.
You have to make up your mind, "I am putting strife out of my house and out of my life!"

This is the way you do it: At the very first hint of strife, stop it. Don't let someone pull you into an argument. Instead, walk in love and forgiveness and "stop contention before it becomes worse" (Proverbs 17:14 Amp).

It takes two people to get into strife, and you can decide not to get into it! You don't have to fit the description of the person in Proverbs 17:19 Amp: "He who loves strife and is quarrelsome loves transgression and involves himself in guilt.
    "

So when you recognize a situation that sparks feelings of aggravation, jealousy or strife within you, just look at that situation through the eyes of God and talk to it. Say, "I refuse to allow this situation to bring strife into my life. I yield to the forces of love and joy within me.
    "

No Place for Strife in a Loving Home

Proverbs 17:1 gives you more insight into the danger of strife in your home: "Better is a dry morsel with quietness than a house full of feasting (on offered sacrifices) with strife.
    "

The home is one of Satan's biggest targets. He continually tries to disrupt families by causing strife and division in your homes. Your family is a powerful force for God when you're all in agreement with one another. That's why it's so important to stay out of strife and walk in love at home.

Oddly enough, home is often the most difficult place to be loving! I think the reason for that is we don't have our guard up when we're at home. We're not worried about our reputation. We're not trying to impress anyone. At home, we relax and nothing stops us from being selfish except our commitment to walk in the love of God.

But don't be fooled into thinking that it doesn't matter how you act at home. It matters a great deal. In fact, years ago the Lord said this to me, If you allow Satan to stop you with strife at your front door, you'll be no threat to him anywhere else.

    Love Prevents Strife Among Brothers

Let me warn you that as soon as you start putting strife out of your home, the devil will pressure you even harder to get into strife somewhere else – at work, at church – just anywhere will work for him. He'll provoke someone to be rude to you or hurt your feelings. Or he'll make sure you find out about other believers' mistakes, and then try to convince you to talk about their mistakes to others.

We must remember Paul's words, "But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another" (1 Thessalonians 4:9).

When the enemy presents you with that opportunity, turn him down – fast! Treat that temptation to gossip and stir up strife as you would a poisonous snake. Turn your back and run the other way, because in the eyes of God, participating in strife is one of the most serious of sins.

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous" (1 Peter 3:8).

Stay away from strife. Ask God to reveal to you if you've entered into strife – even inadvertently. He may remind you of a time you passed along some gossip about someone else or criticized the pastor. If He does, repent and make a decision to be more conscious of avoiding that strife in the future.

    Born to Walk in Love

When Ken and I first received the revelation of the danger of strife, we realized that if we wanted to walk in the full measure of God's blessings, we would have to stay out of strife. We wouldn't be able to argue with people or fight back when people criticized or wronged us. We'd have to respond in love.

So we made up our minds to put strife out of our family. We made up our minds to keep it out of our ministry. We absolutely refused to operate in strife. And we determined that if we did mess up and exchange harsh words, we would be quick to repent and keep the devil from gaining a foothold in our lives.

If you want to walk in God's love and keep the door of your life closed to the devil, that's the kind of decision you'll have to make, too. So guard diligently against strife. Make the commitment to keep strife out of your life. See to it that your prayers prevail by staying in harmony with your family members as well as others.

The moment you slip up and get into strife, make it right. Go to the other person and say, "Please forgive me. I love you. I don't want to be in strife with you." Then tell the Lord, "Father, I repent of strife. I refuse to be a person of strife. I choose to walk in love.
    "

You may have to repent quite a bit at first if you've developed habits that must be changed. But don't get disgusted with yourself and give up. Just keep acting on the Word.
Stop strife – and yield to love!

The love of God has been shed abroad in your heart by the Holy Ghost (Romans 5:5). You are born of God to walk in His love.

    My friends and fam,

I haven't been blogging very much these days. It's not that I don't have anything to say. It is just that I have a lot going in my personal life. Many of you, my close friends, know what my wife and I are going through. I do appreciate your prayers, encouragement, and thoughts. God knows what He is doing now and my marriage is COMPLETELY in His hands.

There is a new movie, FIREPROOF, that just released this past weekend. It is a Christian movie, from Sherwood Baptist Church of Albany, Georgia. This is the same movie that brought us FACING THE GIANTS, another powerful movie.

FIREPROOF is a God sent movie that I believe will restore and heal many marriages. It is a powerful story of a couple that feels like they can't take it anymore. They feel like this is it, they have reached their limit. They are going to divorce. And through a challenge by the husbands father, they begin a remarkable journey towards healing, renewed love and restoration. I have definitely cried and been touched by other movies. But this one rocked me. So many similarities to my own marriage.

If you haven't seen this movie...GO SEE IT! Every married couple, regardless of how strong your marriage is, should go see this movie. If your marriage is hanging by a thread, GO SEE THIS MOVIE! And if you are thinking about getting married, go see this movie.

FIREPROOF has definitely brought about some needed change in my own thinking. I don't know what will happen from this point forward in my own marriage. But I do know that I love my wife and my family, and that I will continue to change and fight.

I also know that I will dedicate a part of my life and ministry to helping other couples to avoid the same struggles and mistakes that my wife and I went through.

Thank you Lord for the powerful lessons you showed me from this movie! May it truly bless, restore and heal marriages all over this nation.

    Current mood:  loved

God has taught me MANY, MANY lessons these last few months. I have been through one of the biggest trials and tests of my entire life these last few months.

All I will say about the actual situations is that I had been through a huge faith crisis. Doubting God, doubting my dreams, doubting my call. I was so broken and beat up. Did you hear that? I was in a deep crisis in my faith. And many of you that know me can testify to this.

But the Lord met me so many times over these last few months. In a hotel room. At a couple of church services. In my garage at home while I was working out. Here in my front room at my house. In my computer room. Driving from Pueblo to Denver.
Several times, in the middle of my crisis. Right when I needed HIM most, the Lord met me. Right where I was. In the middle of my pain. In the middle of my sadness. In the middle of my anger. In the middle of my guilt. In the middle of my shame. In the middle of my brokeness. I encountered God right when I needed to. And through these encounters He has LOVED me back to WHOLENESS. And He is still loving me back to wholeness.

I went through so much pain to get to where I am at today. A lot of it caused by my own hand and by my own decisions. But it is now becoming a testimony. And it wasn't done through any special formula. It wasn't done by reading some special book (although I have read many new books lately-I love reading). It wasn't done through anything other than the simple truth of the Gospel. And that is How much God loves us. He LOVED me back into wholeness. And through His PATIENCE with me and through His GRACE for me and through His MERCY for me, I realized that my Daddy, my Father....Man He loves me so much! Oh, how HE loves us! Even in our mistakes and our sin. Even through our pain and brokenness. Even in our rebelliousness and bad choices. He loves us unconditionally. And I came to you my friends today to say that the reason I am becoming whole again today is because of the LOVE of my Father!

    Psalm 103:8-14a says,
"8 The Lord is compassionate and merciful,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
9 He will not constantly accuse us,
    nor remain angry forever.
    10 He does not punish us for all our sins;
he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.
11 For his unfailing love toward those who fear him
is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.
12 He has removed our sins as far from us
as the east is from the west.
13 The Lord is like a father to his children,
tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
14 For he knows how weak we are..."

Oh...How HE Loves US! This is no ordinary love! This is Agape love! This is Father love! This is Creator love! This is Pure love! This is Holy love! This is the real thing! The kind of love that would send His son to die a terrible death for my foolishness! The kind of love that heals and restores. The kind of love that meets you in your brokenness. The kind of love that makes you whole again!

    Praise GOD!

For some of us, just that word...CHANGE...scares us to death. So many of us don't like change. We have our lives just how we like them. Organized the way we want it. Cookie cutter predictable. And many of us truly fear any major change. We will tolerate small change, as long as it doesn't interfere with our life too much.

I am learning to embrace major change. At first, I totally resisted the change in my life. I went through all kinds of wild emotions. And I am not going to talk about everything that happened recently in my life here in this blog. But what I want to focus on is the fact that when we learn to not only accept change, but to embrace it, God can begin to work in us. What we find is that so many times the change was needed. God uses change to take us from one season of our lives to another. And it can sometimes be very hard to go through.

A line in the song, "Better In The End" by Frontline Worship, says, "I don't wanna fear when you bring change."
My friends, don't fear when God brings change. Because after you've been through the fire and after you go through the change that HE has brought, you will be much better in the end.
