Just something I've noticed in American pop culture is the idea that Buddha is some form of god/deity. While shirts such as "I have the body of a god" with a picture of a rotund Buddha are funny, they're less than accurate. Gautama Buddha aka historical or the first Buddha (not really the first but that's another story entirely) was a man. Plain, simple, ordinary semi-autonomous meat machine. But he figured some stuff out (oh yeah glossing over alot there lol), taught it to some folk, and they created a religion/philosophy around it. Buddha is a term that can mean either historical Buddha, or any person who has attained enlightenment. Does enlightenment == deityhood? No, as an old saying goes, "Before enlightenment, a man chops wood to make a fire. After enlightenment, a man chops wood to make a fire."

Well, thinking about getting a second cat. My current cat Sasha, is a little runny squeak daemon, and she could use a playmate. My current thought is to get a giant male cat, and name him Marsellus. And when I say giant, I don't mean merely big, I mean +20lbs that's not a moon, that's an uber kitteh! :D

It still boggles my mind. One of the common patterns I see (especially more with women then men), is I add person, I ask a few questions about person seeing as how I was attracted/interested/both to person. Person reads message (duh you can check the message status in the sent box) and promptly never responds. I delete person.
Yes that’s correct, if I add you, and you never respond, I WILL delete you! I’m not interested in having 1 million supposed friends that never interact. I’m here to interact with people, not use this site as a way to feed my under (or over) nourished ego.
Now does that mean I’m expecting some deep and fufilling thing with each and ever person I add? No that would be foolish. Part of the fun is meeting new people and exploring :)

Well 6.5 years later, and I finally have TV service again. What have I found? Let’s see commercials suck, and most everything on is garbage lol. So why did I get it, History (aka hitler chan), Discovery, and SciFi (BSG baby!!!). Got it just in time to catch the BSG season opener :)

You are the Hanged ManSelf-sacrifice, Sacrifice, Devotion, Bound. With the Hanged man there is often a sense of fatalism, waiting for something to happen. Or a fear of loss from a situation, rather than gain. The Hanged Man is perhaps the most fascinating card in the deck. It reflects the story of Odin who offered himself as a sacrifice in order to gain knowledge. Hanging from the world tree, wounded by a spear, given no bread or mead, he hung for nine days. On the last day, he saw on the ground runes that had fallen from the tree, understood their meaning, and, coming down, scooped them up for his own. All knowledge is to be found in these runes. The Hanged Man, in similar fashion, is a card about suspension, not life or death. It signifies selflessness, sacrifice and prophecy. You make yourself vulnerable and in doing so, gain illumination. You see the world differently, with almost mystical insights. What Tarot Card are You? Take the Test to Find Out.

Hell I figured I should update this thing after my rantastic spiel in the last one. Suffice it to say, my engine wasn't blown, just the waterpump/timing belt, and because I brought my own part, no warranty. Weee! On top of that the head gasket is now blown, and it won't turn over, so I'm getting a new car tomorrow :)
All is well in tech land, I code, I drink caffeine, I code more. I'm also going to parties, scary I know, a geek with a social life! :)

(posted as a bulletin in haste, meant to post as blog)
OK, before I was just pissed, now I'm fucking livid. First was my waterpump has been going out/leaking, so I finally figured I couldn't do it myself & took it to the shop. They quoted me 340 for the pump + 20-30 for the thermostat (mind you I provided the pump). Then I show up and it's 500. Not pleased.
Then I drive it around, run some errands, and head home. When I get home, I notice it's knocking reeeaaaally loud. Figured they fucked something up, so call them and set up a time to take it in. Look under the hood, and the handle for the dip-stick is broken off. I get around to getting some pliers to check the oil and of course there's no oil in the engine. So now I have a potentially damaged engine, and an unquenchable thirst for vengance.
I WILL nail these fuckers to the wall. That is a guarantee.

Finally finished my overclocking of my new rig (had it sitting on my bench trying to determine the fastest I could push it :). Stock it's an E4300 (1.8Ghz Core2 Duo 2MB L2), Abit IP35 Pro board, with 4 1GB DDR2 1066 (5-5-5-18 @ 2.2v) sticks of RAM. I've got it running at 3.0Ghz, and the RAM is at 1002 (5-4-4-12 @ 2.3v).
Suffice it to say, I'm a little dissapointed I can't get the RAM to either go higher in clock, or get at least CAS 4 out of it (CAS 4 would = ~200MB/sec faster xfer). The CPU is okay as well, but I've seen some E4300's get pushed to 3.4. Eventually I'm gonna lap my CPU, and reseat the heatsink (think there's a little too much thermal paste on it now) and hopefully will be able to hit 3.2 stable.
There are also some additional BIOS updates coming out soon that are supposed to tweak the board for having 4 sticks of RAM at high speeds. I can get 2 sticks to push DDR2-1100, but throw 4 in and it has problems (hell I tried pushing the northbridge voltage to 1.45 with stock being 1.25, and the ram to 2.35 with no effect).
Overall it's a good replacement for my aging X2 3800 (2Ghz) w/ 2GB DDR. Oh and I've also got a Raptor 150 underneath it now instead of the crappy 250GB I was running :)
