After a two year hibernation we the members of A Billion Ernies had the notion to come back FULL FORCE! We were first inspired by an inticing offer from a record label, who like so many others was unable to deliver on their promises. The label did however give us some momentum to get things rolling. Having been screwed over by labels before we knew how to handle the situation. This is the story of A Billion Ernies 2009 D.I.Y.
We decided to meet in Seattle, Washington where our front man Ryan Leavelle, has been residing the last year or so to write our new album "AWAKE". The scheduled departure of the CA members of ABE was to begin on Jan 13th, but Big and Brown had other plans.

There was a tiny tube in the fuel line that needed replacing. Luckily we were not far from home and were able to deal with this promptly. We were only delayed one day. We continued on our way. Our first stop was Utah to pick up the best slap bass player to ever walk the halls of Hemet High School, Bryan Leavelle. We fit ourselves and more crap than you can imagine into that van.

Next stop Washington! On the way we saw some snow and IDAHO!

After a much too long drive, 18 hours, due to fog, and cautious driving we finally arrived in Fremont, Wa on Jan 16th. Finally together again, we had some fun took some pictures
(this is how we sleep)

headed to our practice space

and then got right to work.

As of now we have 3 songs completely finished, and 3 more nearing completion. The writing of "AWAKE" is moving along nicely. We are scheduled to begin recording the album Feb 20th, followed by our 3rd US tour.
We will try to keep everyone up to date on our progress and everything that goes on with ABE here in this blog. Thanks and we hope to see everyone at at least one show when we are on tour. Say hi.

Yo!!! Thanks for being awesome and wanting to hook us up with a show. Here's a little info!!!
-We are asking for a $200 guarantee. Not because we think we are rock stars, but because the road can be expensive, and we need to eat and get from show to show :) If you cant come up with it, we could take a piece of the door, or we can negotiate something else.
-PLEASE PLEASE send booking inquiries to me at bryanleavelle@gmail.com. Its easier to keep track of em that way :)
Thanks people, see you soon!!!
