Subject: [usgp-dx] Get Rev. Billy Talen on Bill Maher
To: USGP Discussion

Dear Green friends,

I don't watch TV. And I don't own one. But there is a TV host I'm hearing a few good things about -- Bill Maher.

In June, Bill Maher asked, "Shouldn't there be one party that unambiguously supports cutting the military budget, a party that is straight up in favor of gun control, gay marriage, higher taxes on the rich, universal health care -- legalizing pot -- and steep, direct taxing of polluters?... what we need is an actual progressive party to represent the millions of Americans who aren't being served by the Democrats."

Let's introduce Bill Maher -- and his national audience -- to Reverend Billy Talen, the Green Party candidate for mayor of New York City.

Rev. Billy is an eloquent spokesperson for the Green movement. He's smart, dynamic and hilarious too.

Will you ask Real Time with Bill Maher to have Rev. Billy on the show?
http://bit.ly/getrevbillyontv

Rev. Billy just turned in more than 18,000 signatures to earn a spot on this November's ballot to run against the "billionaire mayor," Mike Bloomberg.

Can you help Rev. Billy spread his message that we need Green solutions to create vibrant, diverse neighborhoods?

Yes, I want Green voices in the media - I'll contact Real Time With Bill Maher today!
http://bit.ly/getrevbillyontv

Thanks for your help. Remember, it's up to us!

July 23, 2009 - Thursday

2009 Annual National Meeting in Durham, North Carolina; all times are Eastern Standard

http://www.livestream.com/greenpartyus

Going live again starting @ 9:00 AM Jul 24, at this posting the channel is revisiting streams
from the last year or so.

Live broadcast started today around 1:30 PM Jul 23 from Durham NC,
and went quite well for an unrehearsed roll out by mostly complete noobs.

Today there was more foreground discussion of technical difficulty than there was technical dificulty,
but i expect that will improve greatly tomorrow. Starlene Rankin, Craig Seeman,
and several others did a fine job showing just how easy it could be to make it work
despite not having done it before.

Over the weekend there will be speeches, workshops, and forums:

On Saturday afternoon at 3:00 pm, Cynthia McKinney will speak about her recent efforts,
with the Free Gaza Movement and Viva Palestina, to bring medical and other supplies to Gaza
in the wake of Israel's brutal invasion.
Ms. McKinney and other Free Gaza human rights activists were aboard the Spirit of Humanity
when it was seized by Israeli gunboats.
The 'Free Gaza 21,' including Ms. McKinney, were held in a prison in Ramla,
Israel, until their release last week http://gp.org/press/pr-national.php?ID=234;

The Green Party will present a public forum on the need for a single-Payer health care
funding system on Friday, July 24 from 3:30-4:30 pm
http://gp.org/press/pr-national.php?ID=236;

Green candidates and officeholders will be speaking, like former Green Party presidential candidate
Jesse Johnson, who will be presenting a film "Coal Country" addressing the horrors
of mountaintop removal in coal mining.

Go to http://www.livestream.com/greenpartyus, and stay tuned in all weekend!

and transparent future for the GPUS, and that other nationals and state parties will follow
the lead to broadcast internationally once it's simplicity and effectiveness are shown.

Are you fed up with sanity being left out of
"the public political discourse"?
Then have a good laugh while absorbing some of the
best political analysis available; it's time to see some
best of Bill Maher and guests like Naomi Klein,
recently listed @ http://montesite.net/:

Starting with some of Bill Maher's more recent comments
on Obama and the Democrats:

"this is not what i voted for!" ... "where's the beef?"
"Democrats are the new republicans"
"we have a center right party and a crazy party."
"This country needs a left wing. It doesn't have it,
and part of the reason is the media!"

"The way George Bush... He didn't care if it was approved ...
by the Magna Carta! He just did what he wanted to do.
And i would like to see a bit of that,
in Barak Obama."

"where's the beef?
and it's easy to make speeches,
and what's hard to do is stand up against corporations.
Corporations, and their incredible strength
are what has ruined this country, so far...
If not now, when?"

"you don't have to be on TV everyday, you're the President"

"the AMA, if you're not sick, we're not doing our job"

and this is without ruining many punchlines,
most of these lines are just set-ups!

Partial transcript of June 19, 2009; New Rules:

"bottom line? Democrats are the new republicans"

"look folks, i like Obama too, I'm just saying,
let's not make it a religion. ...

every time Obama tries to take on another on another progressive
cause there's a major political party standing in his way,
the Democrats.
People talk a lot about a third party in America,
we don't need a third party, we need a first party.
You go to the polls and your choices are the guy who voted for the
first Wall Street bailout, or the guy who voted for the next ten.

This week we're hearing that a public option for health care is unlikely,
because it doesn't have the support of enough Democrats.
Even Ted Kennedy's plan (Ted Kennedy yeah!),
leaves 37 million uninsured.

This is because we don't have a left and a right party
in this country anymore,
we have a center right party and a crazy party.
And over the last thirty odd years,
Democrats have moved to the right,
and the right has moved into a mental hospital.

So, what we have is one perfectly good party for hedge fund managers,
credit card companies, banks, defense contractors, big agriculture,
and the pharmaceutical lobby, that's the Democrats,
and they sit across the aisle from a small group of religious fanatics,
flat earthers, and Civil War reenacters,
who mostly communicate by AM radio
and call themselves the Republicans.
And who actually worry that Obama is a Socialist."

Reflected Gravitational Waves

By this point, i'm still feeling like i got the purple pill,
and every time i eat it the same thing happens;
except that i've been reading a lot of sci-fi lately,
and now i'm living in one of the stories.most notably The trigger by Arthur C. Clarke and Michael P. Kube-McDowell
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Trigger
which i highly recommendSub space travel is a hypothetical ramification, of this new paragdigm
but propellant free "graviti-motive" force has already been applied and measured.

So, there it was, in my inbox, with my daily slashdot.com story teaser list.
This article simply cited another article,
If superconducting sheets reflected gravitational waves...
...wouldn't our most sensitive experiments have spotted this by now? Maybe they have
http://www.technologyreview.com/blog/arxiv/23198/

""In the couple of weeks since he introduced the idea that superconducting sheets can
reflect gravity waves, Raymond Chiao from the University of California, Merced,
has been busy with a couple of buddies working out how big this effect is... Chiao and co.
ask how big the effect of a gravitational wave on a thin superconducting sheet is compared
to the effect on an ordinary conducting sheet.
The answer? 42 orders of magnitude bigger.""...

"One experiment springs to mind that might be capable of seeing this effect.
Gravity Probe B is a space-based experiment designed to spot the geodetic effect
and frame dragging, two tiny forces predicted by general relativity.

The experiment consists of four perfectly round spheres, each about the the size of a baseball,
that spin rapidly and so behave like gyroscopes.
Each sphere has a thin superconducting coating which allows its spin and any changes to it
to be measured precisely. "

and an experiment called Gravity Probe B
http://einstein.stanford.edu/content/final_report/GPB_Final_NASA_Report-020509-web.pdf
"The data analysis leading up to this important result proved more subtle than expected.
'Patch-effect'1 anomalies on the gyro rotor and housing have complicated the gyro behavior
in two ways, a changing polhode path affecting the determination of the gyro scale factor,
and two larger than expected Newtonian torques. Put simply, while mechanically both rotor
and housing are exceedingly spherical, electrically they are not. Steadily advancing progress,
reported to NASA directly and via successive meetings of the NASA appointed GP-B Science
Advisory Committee (SAC) chaired by Professor Clifford Will, has brought a rather complete
understanding of these effects. A turning point came in August 2008 with the incorporation
of an elegant approach for computing the detailed history of the remarkable "roll-polhode
resonance" torques discovered a year earlier by J. Kolodziejczak of NASA MSFC. The result,
reported here, was a large reduction in previously unexplained discrepancies
between the four gyroscopes."

Of course, the slashdot article is where all the comments are.
Some of these softened me up with positing antigrav fields, and reversing measuring effects
in interesting ways, and some humor surrounding all that.

So, i read these,
and opened all the links cited in the stories and the discussion,
SOP for me.

mostly it was about the number 42, at first,
i expected no more than jokes about my favorite book,
Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy,
but this one comment put me on to some interesting sources,
that put me on to some more interesting sources.

For a short while while i was reading this one Wikipedia page,
it all seemed such a well designed but simple planted prank
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heim_Quantum_Theory

It all sounded so fairy tales super normed out;
too typic. Too much a based in fact but derived from fiction feel about it.

"Predictions claimed to have been derived from first principles
that are experimentally testable are:

* Predictions of the masses of neutrinos
* Predictions of new particles
* Predictions of excited states of existing particles
* Predictions for the conversion of photons into the so-called "gravito-photons"
resulting in a measurable force.

Heim predicted in the 1980s that neutrinos would have nonzero mass."

Yea, but i predicted it in the 70's, big deal
(i always had a theoretical rejection on mass less neutrinos, no math involved).

Then i read a New Scientist article
(http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg18925331.200-take-a-leap-into-hyperspace.html?page=3),
cover story from 5 Jan., 2006 (http://www.newscientist.com/issue/2533):

"Dröscher is hazy about the details, but he suggests that a spacecraft fitted
with a coil and ring could be propelled into a multidimensional hyperspace.
Here the constants of nature could be different, and even the speed of light could be
several times faster than we experience.
If this happens, it would be possible to reach Mars in less than 3 hours
and a star 11 light years away in only 80 days, Dröscher and Häuser say."

!! and a page from the EU Space Agency !!:
(http://www.esa.int/SPECIALS/GSP/SEM0L6OVGJE_0.html 23 March 2006),
and a whole lot of previously completely disconnected info began to fit together
in ways that i would not have guessed.

The proverbial platinum hammer to the head. It was very good.

"Their experiment involves a ring of superconducting material
rotating up to 6,500 times a minute. ...

It demonstrates that a superconductive gyroscope is capable of generating a powerful
gravitomagnetic field, and is therefore the gravitational counterpart of
the magnetic coil."

Today's biggest news, from where i sit, seems to be over two years old,
and i suspect that the general idea may have been around for some time.

Whether recent experiments have actually caught several research teams
by complete surprise, or they are just confirming and legitimizing the knowledge gained
nefariously at "Area 51" over the years, we have an experimental data set
almost requiring a coherent theory of hyper drive and/or anti-gravity propulsion.

Over the last decade or more there have been a lot of anomalous effects recorded
regarding the precise measurement of gravity and mass.
Often lately this has been explained by a "missing" dark matter and/or dark energy.

The fact is there have been some better theories lying around for a very long time,
positing that the strength of gravity falls off at a different rate outside
a certain distance, and/or positing an anti-gravity repulsive field of some sort
or another.

There have almost always been proofs of Einstienian mass and gravity ramifications
that seemed to be off the mark in little ways that defied explanation.

These are the basis, to a large part, for the tradition of excluding
"facility induced effects".

With the still broadcasting pioneer and viking space probes getting so far away,
and the sensitivity of our gravity wave detectors increasing,
we are finding some big questions unanswered lately in physics.

The ESA report (http://www.esa.int/SPECIALS/GSP/SEM0L6OVGJE_0.html),
makes it quite clear that we have stumbled on a good chunk of what underlies
the answers to many of these questions.
The negation of gravity is highly implicated in these results,
if they are to become replicated without further elucidation of another effect.
According to theories based on those of Heim, such is the result of another force
in addition to, and similar too, gravity,
these are claimed to explained by Hiem's theories.

So, this reading brought me into contact with Heim's theories
for what i think is the first time.
Apparently the theory seems pretty shaky to the pros,
but is supposedly still the only one to explain the masses of particles
in any meaningful way.

This is actually where it gets hardest for me to believe right now,
as the Wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heim_Quantum_Theory),
is currently stamped with "The neutrality of this article is disputed.",
since Dec 2007.
It seems it should have been resolved by now.

In any case there is plenty more to go on than WIKIpedia, Heim, or his theory,
in the ESA article alone:

"This experiment is the gravitational analogue of Faraday's electromagnetic induction
experiment in 1831.

It demonstrates that a superconductive gyroscope is capable of generating a powerful
gravitomagnetic field, and is therefore the gravitational counterpart of
the magnetic coil.
Depending on further confirmation, this effect could form the basis for
a new technological domain, which would have numerous applications in space
and other high-tech sectors" says ESA study manager Clovis de Matos.
Although just 100 millionths of the acceleration due to the Earth’s gravitational
field, the measured field is a surprising one hundred million trillion times larger
than Einstein’s General Relativity predicts. Initially, the researchers were reluctant
to believe their own results."...

"We ran more than 250 experiments, improved the facility over 3 years
and discussed the validity of the results for 8 months before making this announcement.
Now we are confident about the measurement," says Tajmar, who performed the experiments
and hopes that other physicists will conduct their own versions of the experiment
in order to verify the findings and rule out a facility induced effect."...

"If confirmed, this would be a major breakthrough," says Tajmar,
"it opens up a new means of investigating general relativity and it consequences
in the quantum world."

We have engines just like the ones i've heard the more credible Area 51 insider reports describe??

uh huh

Keep your eye peeled one whats going on with "Frame Dragging Signals" in real research labs.
Here's one that looks to explore and confirm the parameters of the effect itself:

http://arxiv.org/abs/0707.3806

Search for Frame-Dragging-Like Signals Close to Spinning Superconductors
Authors: M. Tajmar, F. Plesescu, B. Seifert, R. Schnitzer, I. Vasiljevich
(Submitted on 25 Jul 2007 (v1), last revised 22 Apr 2008 (this version, v9)):
"High-resolution accelerometer and laser gyroscope measurements were performed
in the vicinity of spinning rings at cryogenic temperatures.
After passing a critical temperature, which does not coincide with the material's
superconducting temperature, the angular acceleration and angular velocity applied
to the rotating ring could be seen on the sensors although they are mechanically
de-coupled. A parity violation was observed for the laser gyroscope measurements
such that the effect was greatly pronounced in the clockwise-direction only.
The experiments seem to compare well with recent independent tests obtained by the
Canterbury Ring Laser Group and the Gravity-Probe B satellite.
All systematic effects analyzed so far are at least 3 orders of magnitude below
the observed phenomenon. The available experimental data indicates that the fields
scale similar to classical frame-dragging fields.
A number of theories that predicted large frame-dragging fields around spinning
superconductors can be ruled out by up to 4 orders of magnitude."

Damn they move fast nowadays.

Here's just one of many many examples of what i feel has been the elephant in the room,
which apparently has been replaced with the potential for some real answers to the question:

"In summary, the present situation is characterized by the fact that a large number
of experiments were performed over a period of more than four years,
employing very different measurement techniques, but showing highly similar,
but totally unexpected results.
Measurement techniques in all experiments are clearly state of the art,
in particular for the GP-B experiment and the latest experiments by Tajmar et al.16 p .
Hence, the conclusion is that substantial experimental evidence for the existence
of gravity-like field is available.
It remains to be seen, whether in the case of the Gp-B experiment the misalignment
of the orientation of the gyro axes and the change in the gyro rotation frequencies
can be convincingly explained by classical physics.
According to EHT, the misalignment of the orientation of the gyro axes has be
attributed to a gravitomagnetic field, and the change in the gyro rotation frequencies
needs to be traced back to a gravity-like field.
If this were true, a rather solid experimental basis of three highly different
experiments seeing the same novel physical phenomenon would exist.
This would serve as a comprehensive experimental data set against which theoretical
concepts have to be compared.
In this regard the GP-B experiment might deliver highly interesting novel
physical results.
The current theoretical findings from EHT and their comparisons to experimental
results are encouraging, though lots of open questions remain.

For the sake of clarity, the current situation (June 2008) is rephrased as follows.
There is experimental data from three completely unrelated sources, employing
completely different measuring techniques that have seen physical effects that
are approximately 18-20 orders of magnitude larger than predicted by GR.
In all experiments a phase transition occurred at low temperatures
(not necessarily at TC, the critical temperature for superconducting, but possibly
two-electron interaction took place?).
GR cannot be used to explain these phenomena, even if the full nonlinear Einstein
field equations were used, which should make no difference.
The Lageos and GP-B experiments have clearly
demonstrated that the inertial frame-dragging effect, even from celestial bodies,
is extremely small and within GR.
These facts provide evidence for novel physics

in the form of additional fundamental forces.

How to proceed? It seems that there is sufficient reliable experimental data to
start a comprehensive theoretical and experimental
research program in gravity-like fields.
There exists a physical model that can partly reproduce experimental facts,
and also provide guidelines for an experiment generating a gravity-like field
acting along the axis of rotation, while the ring or disk is rotating at constant
speed. If such an experiment were successful, the goal of gravity-controlled
technology (energy generation) or propulsion without propellant would be much closer.
Naturally, a propellantless propulsion system would be far superior to any existing
propulsion technology, while its technology might be substantially simpler than
present technology of linear momentum conservation employed in chemical,
fission or fusion rockets.

Moreover, gravity-like fields most likely would lead to novel technologies
in the general field of transportation, and thus should be of major interest
to the public and, in particular, to industry.

There is, of course, despite the rather solid experimental basis,
insufficient knowledge at present whether these gravity-like fields are
technically feasible and how they scale.
The next step should therefore be to conduct a comprehensive and detailed study
for determining the technical details of how to realize the proposed experiment
for a vertical gravity-like field and to clarify the theoretical background.
At the same time current experiments should be further refined and re-evaluated.

Needless to say, control of gravity would lead to completely new technologies,
comparable to the advent of electricity and magnetism in the 19 th century."

Note, the effect is doesil, as in the choice of clockwise betrays a great deal of prophetic
ability of the ancestors, or the odds of a binary choice, but yet again the Allness
reveals she has a right hand bias.

Turns out 2008 does mirror 1908, talk about some critical years,
they almost give the year the Emperor burned the Chinese fleet (boooooring)
a run for it's money, after all, it was the year they drove Islam out of Spain (1492).

This is not even the only new hint of a new type of motor,
but this is sooo much more 2009,
just as much a surprise out of no where,
and means of a similar type effect, in a way.

Been meaning to post these for weeks:

"Here’s an interesting effect discovered by a group of Iranian physicists at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran (it’s not often we hear from these guys).

They placed a thin film of water in a square cell and applied two perpendicular electric fields. One was an external electric field. For the other, they used two copper electrodes to generate a voltage across the cell like an electrolysing cell (although no chemical reaction took place).

So they had a pair of electric fields at right angles acting on this thin film.

The unexpected result is that the film of water begins to rotate. The team has a number of movies of the effect on its website. They call it a liquid film motor and it’s a quite extraordinary effect. At one point they divide their cell into nine smaller ones and the liquid in each cell rotates in exactly the same way." in this one it is easier to see how this could pump fluids around a bio sensor chip: your assignment, should it interest you, is to go here and see if you can

How did that happen? same way as all the other torches we carry today:

The Lobby

Money Machine

Loans

Bad Mortgage

What else does our wonderful lobby buy us?

Gaza High Ground

No! I mean us here, in the US:

1

Tides

40%

Doctors See

Ejecta

Rope

Wilderness Living

I think proper insurance and info industry regulation would limit the last two, are they the lobby's fault?
Well, these are certainly impacted by the purchase of legislature's responsibilities:

Ma Earth

Big Pig

Bigger Pig

Being Better Off

So, what are we going to do about it?

IRAQ: Fleeing Christians Face New Hardships in Turkey
http://digg.com/world_news/IRAQ_Fleeing_Christians_Face_New_Hardships_in_Turkey
http://www.christianmirror.net/article/report/245/

Centuries of mutual tolerance had been amplified by modern morays. Now that the forces of hatred and tolerance are being inflamed by imperial aggression and domination there are probably many stories like this. Iraq had long been an anthropological religious tradition preserve, keeping many ancient sects alive. Almost all of these are either Abrahamic in origin, or have been very influenced by Judeo-Christian traditions. This very long list includes the pre-Judeo-Christian traditions of the Yazidhis, and Zoroastrians, many ancient Abrahamaic sects of Jews and Hebrews, and those who hold to the primacy of John the Baptist's teachings, or are Gnostic or cryptic Christian sects with roots from the time of Christ or earlier, such as Mandaean and Assyrian sects, as well as Christians from the early periods of Christianity such as Nestorians, Chaldeans, Syriacs, and Armenian Orthodox.

There are small sects that co-existed with early Christian sects and have always been very co-influenced by Judeo-Christian Gnostic traditions, such as Manicheans.

Many different sects of Islam are found here, including different Zoroastrian and Sufi traditions that have had a profound influence on each other and Islam.

More modern groups like Protestants, and Baha'is have also traditionally found tolerance in Iraq.

Iraq has always been a place of blending and retaining old traditions and has fostered many syncretic religions over the millennia. Shabaks, which seem to be a further blending of the originally pagan Kurdish Yazidhi beliefs with Sufi Islam, are an excellent example of this ancient tradition of Iraqi tolerance that is now crumbling. Other good examples are the Assyrians and Manicheans, both named for groups that pre-date Christ, but are now essentially Gnostic Christians with a focus on John Baptist. Indeed, there is not one of those mentioned above that is not highly suspected of being influenced by the blending of traditions, particularly while in Iraq, excepting Baha'is, which are both widely considered syncretic in their origins elsewhere.

Indeed, the Shabak, and Sabean Mandaeans, along with many sects of many of these traditions, also have a long on and of history of being cryptic, of adopting the outward forms of the politically or demographically dominant tradition of their time and place, and this fosters both the syncretic nature of Iraq's traditions, and the survival of ancient, albeit evolved, traditions.

Between the loss of this cultural preserve of religious history and the loss of archeological treasures of the many cultures at the center of the origins of western histories due to decades of bombing and looting, we have lost a great deal of the resources that had remained until modern times to better understand and contextualize the rise of, and ancient influences on, classical and modern western history.

This incalculable loss is comparable to the loss of the ancient libraries of Alexandria and Baghdad and thus puts the US firmly in the same class as Genghis, but on a much larger scale.

Sir Arthur Clarke, sci-fi writer, originator of the idea of the artificial satellite, wrote a book, The_Fountains_of_Paradise, circa 1979 about building an elevator to orbit, wherein he also predicted nano-scale engineering filaments of diamond.

It's the only way to get to space without undue consumption of fuel and emissions of massive warming gases.

In The Know: Should The Government Stop Dumping Money Into A Giant Hole?

November 13, 2008
A Credit Crisis or a Collapsing Ponzi Scheme?
The Two Trillion Dollar Black Hole

By PAM MARTENS

Purge your mind for a moment about everything you've heard and read in the last decade about investing on Wall Street and think about the following business model:

You take your hard earned retirement savings to a Wall Street firm and they tell you that as long as you "stay invested for the long haul" you can expect double digit annual returns.  You never really know what your money is invested in because it's pooled with other investors and comes with incomprehensible but legal looking prospectuses.  The heads of these Wall Street firms have been taking massive payouts for themselves, ranging from $160 million to $1 billion per CEO over a number of years.  As long as new money keeps flooding in from newfangled accounts called 401(k)s, Roth IRAs, 529 plans for education savings, and hedge funds (each carrying ever greater restrictions for withdrawing your money and ever greater opacity) everything appears fine on the surface.  And then, suddenly, you learn that many of these Wall Street firms don't have any assets that anybody wants to buy.  Because these firms are both managing your money as well as having their own shares constitute a large percentage of your pooled investments, your funds begin to plummet as confidence drains from the scheme.

Now consider how Wikipedia describes a Ponzi scheme:

"A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment operation that involves promising or paying abnormally high returns ('profits') to investors out of the money paid in by subsequent investors, rather than from net revenues generated by any real business.  It is named after Charles Ponzi...One reason that the scheme initially works so well is that early investors – those who actually got paid the large returns – quite commonly reinvest (keep) their money in the scheme (it does, after all, pay out much better than any alternative investment). Thus those running the scheme do not actually have to pay out very much (net) – they simply have to send statements to investors that show how much the investors have earned by keeping the money in what looks like a great place to get a high return. They also try to minimize withdrawals by offering new plans to investors, often where money is frozen for a longer period of time...The catch is that at some point one of three things will happen:

(1) the promoters will vanish, taking all the investment money (less payouts) with them;

(2) the scheme will collapse of its own weight, as investment slows and the promoters start having problems paying out the promised returns (and when they start having problems, the word spreads and more people start asking for their money, similar to a bank run);

(3) the scheme is exposed, because when legal authorities begin examining accounting records of the so-called enterprise they find that many of the 'assets' that should exist do not."

Looking at outcomes 1, 2, and 3 above, here's where we are today.  The promoters have clearly not vanished as in outcome 1.  In fact, they are behaving as if they know they have nothing to fear.  As over $2 trillion of taxpayer money is rapidly infused through Federal Reserve loans and over $125 Billion in U.S. Treasury equity purchases to keep these firms from collapsing, the promoters are standing at the elbow of the President-Elect in press conferences (Citigroup promoter, Robert Rubin); they are served up as business gurus on the business channel CNBC (former AIG CEO and promoter, Maurice "Hank" Greenberg); they are put in charge of nationalized zombie firms like Fannie Mae (Herbert Allison, former President of Merrill Lynch); they are paying $26 million and $42 million, respectively, for new digs at 15 Central Park West in Manhattan, where their chauffeurs have their own waiting room (Lloyd Blankfein, CEO of Goldman Sachs; Sanford "Sandy" Weill, former CEO of Citigroup, who put his penthouse in the name of his wife's trust, perhaps smelling a few pesky questions ahead over the $1 billion he sucked out of Citigroup before the Fed had to implant a feeding tube).

We are definitely seeing all the signs of outcome 2: the scheme is collapsing under its own weight; there are panic runs around the globe wherever Wall Street has left its footprint.

But outcome 3 is the most fascinating area of departure from the classic Ponzi scheme.  Legal authorities have, indeed, examined the books of these firms, except for one area we'll discuss later.  They found worthless assets along with debts hidden off the balance sheet instead of real depositor funds.  Instead of arresting the perpetrators and shutting down the schemes, Federal authorities have developed their own new schemes and pumped over $2 trillion of taxpayer money into propping up the firms while leaving the schemers in place.  Equally astonishing, Congress has not held any meaningful investigations.  This has left many Wall Street veterans wondering if the problem isn't that the firms are "too big to fail" but rather "too Ponzi-like to prosecute."  Imagine the worldwide reaction to learning that all the claptrap coming from U.S. think-tanks and ivy-league academics over the last decade about efficient market theory and deregulation and trickle down was merely a ruse for a Ponzi scheme now being propped up by a U.S. Treasury Department bailout and loans from our central bank, the Federal Reserve.

Fortunately for American taxpayers, Bloomberg News has some inquiring minds, even if our Congress and prosecutors don't.  On May 20, 2008, Bloomberg News reporter, Mark Pittman, filed a Freedom of Information Act request (FOIA) with the Federal Reserve asking for detailed information relevant to whom the central bank was giving these massive loans and precisely what securities these firms were posting as collateral.  Bloomberg also wanted details on "contracts with outside entities that show the employees or entities being used to price the Relevant Securities and to conduct the process of lending."  Heretofore, our opaque central bank had been mum on all points.

By law, the Federal Reserve had until June 18, 2008 to answer the FOIA request.  Here's what happened instead, according to the Bloomberg lawsuit:   On June 19, 2008, the Fed invoked its right to extend the response time to July 3, 2008.  On July 8, 2008, the Fed called Bloomberg News to say it was processing the request.  The Fed rang up Bloomberg again on August 15, 2008, wherein Alison Thro, Senior Counsel and another employee, Pam Wilson, informed the business wire service that their request was going to be denied by the end of September 2008.  No further response of any kind was received, including the denial.  On November 7, 2008, Bloomberg News slapped a federal lawsuit on the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, asserting the following:

"The government documents that Bloomberg seeks are central to understanding and assessing the government's response to the most cataclysmic financial crisis in America since the Great Depression.  The effect of that crisis on the American public has been and will continue to be devastating.  Hundreds of corporations are announcing layoffs in response to the crisis, and the economy was the top issue for many Americans in the recent elections.  In response to the crisis, the Fed has vastly expanded its lending programs to private financial institutions.  To obtain access to this public money and to safeguard the taxpayers' interests, borrowers are required to post collateral.  Despite the manifest public interest in such matters, however, none of the programs themselves make reference to any public disclosure of the posted collateral or of the Fed's methods in valuing it.  Thus, while the taxpayers are the ultimate counterparty for the collateral, they have not been given any information regarding the kind of collateral received, how it was valued, or by whom."

As evidence that Bloomberg News is not engaging in hyperbole when it uses the word "cataclysmic" in a Federal court filing, consider the following price movements of some of these giant financial institutions.  (All current prices are intraday on November 12, 2008):

American International Group (AIG):  Currently $2.16; in May  2007, $72.00

Bear Stearns: Absorbed into JPMorganChase to avoid bankruptcy filing; share price in April 2007, $159

Fannie Mae: Currently 65 cents; in June 2007 $69.00

Freddie Mac: Currently 79 cents; in May 2007 $67.00

Lehman Brothers: Currently 6 cents; in February 2007, $85.00

What all of the companies in this article have in common is that they were writing secret contracts called Credit Default Swaps (CDS) on each other and/or between each other.  These are not the credit default swaps recently disclosed by the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC).  These are the contracts that still live in darkness and are at the root of why the Wall Street banks won't lend to each other and why their share prices are melting faster than a snow cone in July.

A Credit Default Swap can be used by a bank to hedge against default on loans it has made by buying a type of insurance from another party.  The buyer pays a premium upfront and annually and the seller pays the face amount of the insurance in the event of default.   In the last few years, however, the contracts have been increasingly used to speculate on defaults when the buyer of the CDS has no exposure to the firm or underlying debt instruments.  The CDS contracts outstanding now total somewhere between $34 Trillion and $54 Trillion, depending on whose data you want to use, and it remains an unregulated market of darkness.  It is also quite likely that none of the firms that agreed to pay the hundreds of billions in insurance, such as AIG, have the money to do so.  It is also quite likely that were these hedges shown to be uncollectible hedges, massive amounts of new capital would be needed by the big Wall Street firms and some would be deemed insolvent.

Until Congress holds serious investigations and hearings, the U.S. taxpayer may be funding little more than Ponzi schemes while companies that provide real products and services, legitimate jobs and contributions to the economy are left to fail.

Greenspan's Confession

For his 20-year stretch as Fed chairman, they all fawned on him – presidents, Congress, the press. Only a handful of left economists said he was pushing the economy over the cliff. Now Greenspan admits it in a humiliating confession. As the world's financial structure tumbles in ruins, guess what? "I found a flaw in the model… To the extent that I figure out where it happened and why, I will change my views."

Is, "who has bombed and shelled the most civilians to death?"

From over the horizon, from far up in the air, unexpectedly, persistently, without any reprise, random death raining unstoppably upon civilians helpless and innocent?

Bravely mowing down women and children, without meaningful resistance, without taking the risk to soul or life of looking the victims' in their terrorized eyes?

Who always fights only with a historical superiority of numbers and or technical material support? From farther away, from higher in the air, from unmanned platforms guided like video games from half a world away?

Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico, France, Germany, Haiti, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Guatemala, Vietnam, Guatemala, Iran, El Salvador, Columbia, Nicaragua, Grenada, Afghanistan, Panama, Iraq, Haiti, Columbia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and i assure you this list is far from complete.

And they threaten Iran again.

Nuclear, cluster, cruise, 16 inch guns, pounded the victims non stop for a century, what do you think the answer is? What nation has been unofficially at war with civilians for more than 9 of 10 years for over two centuries?

And they threaten Iran again. So they move from petroDollars to Euros.

Do you know where your tax dollars go? Do you know where the world bank's money goes? Do you know how much they profit moving money from one side of Chicago to the other while some complain "'we' give to much money away"? Do you know where the profits from the Pepsi/Coke you bought goes? You are paying for death squads and displacement of human water needs with the profits from your beverages, and who bombs the most civilians to death with their tax dollars?

And they threaten Iran again. So they move their petroDollars to Yuan.

By untold numbers of proxies with weapons given and or sold, one third of foreign assistance to a tiny sliver of what used to be Palestine to put an encampment around the rest, demolish thier homes, imprison them in a firing range, and bomb the police stations to make them stop those who dare to try to resist being bombed from the air with bombs that they wear.

And they threaten Iran again.

Saddam Bombs the Kurds, ten years latter we retaliate for using the weapons we gave him the way we told him to.

Who kills the most? Who is the most terrifying?
The master terorist is you!

And we threaten Iran again. If we wern't so busy bombing others...
