Check out this new version of the "My Humps" video by Alanis Morissette. I think it is even funnier than the original.  Here is what they said in Slate (right after the Global Warming/Supreme Court stuff.).

I have often wondered if there were a connection between my bad memory and my depression.  Now I know that I may be suffering from a shrunken hippocampus.  I'll try to remember that the next time I get upset because I can't find my keys.

My wife and I have been watching the 4 hour season premire of 24.  TV is coming out of its winter hibernation!  I'm so glad.  All the series I watch went on hiatus at about the same time last year.  I was down to one: Daybreak.  That was supposed to last until Lost came back after a 12 week break.  Then some idiot decided to cancel it.

Why must they get you hooked on a series then cancel it half way through?  Or cancel it after a cliffhanger season ending?  That's one of the most annoying things about TV shows with continuing story lines.  TV execs have no respect for the fans.  Sometimes a really good show needs the time to grow an audience.  It'll get some hooked the first season.  More will come the second season.  Friends and family and water cooler buds glom on.  Eventually, the buzz builds from a quickly growing snowball into an avalanche.

That's if it doesn't get cancelled first.

I recall that 24 was on the chopping block last year, but reached the tipping point that saved it for another couple of years.  That gives me and my wife a happy!  Of course, now we have to send kids to bed so we can properly enjoy our TV experience.  Still getting used to that.  I'm stll way to slow with the pause when one of the kids walks in and corpses are blowing apart or the pole dancer is hitting her stride.

I'm still torn about changing our viewing practices.  At least waiting 'till after their bedtime helps.  After all, there's only so much Doodlebops/Highschool Musical/Dora and Diego I can take!  I am proud to say, I have not once caught sight of the dreaded purple dinosaur.  I've heard his name mentioned, and I've even seen it pop up on the kids' TiVo, but it hasn't shown it ugly foam head.

Now that Jack is back, my other TV shows are coming back soon.  Battlestar Galactica is moving to Sundays.  Why?  I don't know.  I don't care, I have 3 TiVos.  I'm recording Star Trek: Enterprise on the Sci Fi channel.  I stopped watching that at some point, so now I get a chance to catch it again from the beginning.  HEROS! Yippie!  And Prision Break: That's the other show my wife and I have in common.

Tonight, however, while American Idol records in the background Nee and I will be sharing a different sort of TV.  We bought the DVD Snakes on a Plane.  She HATES snakes.  We're planning on having some fun tonight!

Is it just me, or does the Burger King mascot look a little creepy?

I'm catching up on TiVoed Battlestar Galactica reruns.

I hope that human-cylon hybrid baby doesn't spontaneously mature into an adult.  That would be rude.  I'm still a bit miffed about that on the 4400.  It also happened on Angel. That was OK though, I liked the creepy kid.  I'm sure it's happened enough elsewhere that it doesn't have to happen again on BSG.  I like it too much for that to happen.

My wife is mad at me for ruining date night.  I don't think we have had a formal date since the kids arrived.  I forgot myself and started eating pizza with the kids.  That of course meant that I was too full to go out and eat.  She was so disgusted that she cancelled the movie as well.  I've been wallowing since then.

Children of Men looks like it will be a really good movie.

Family Guy has a video game.  That should be good for some laughs.

I need to work on my pictures and photoalbums.  Besides, I'm tired of looking at that old hotel snapshot of me.

I've been grumpy or grouchy for a week or so.  My wife kind of likes it.  She says it's a new mood for me.  It's outwardly focused and lets me work on my anger.  Two things I have difficulty with, given my tendency toward depressed self torment.  Of course, I'm not so grumpy now that I'm working through my guilt about tonight.

Ack!  Dang those end of season cliffhangers!  At least it's only a month or so to wait...

I started watching The Lost Room on the Sci-Fi channel last night.  That's no mean feat to watch a two hour show in one evening with four kids in the house.  I also managed to finish an episode of Battlestar Galactica as well.  Just a few weeks ago my entire TV viewing was preoccupied with Dora the Explorer with occasional breaks of Barbie and the 12 Dancing Princesses or High School Musical.

Of course, it helped that I had a pretty bad headache and my wife helped run interference for me.  Tonight I won't be so lucky.  She has to teach so I will be entertaining the troops.  I'll have to see if more Doodlebops have recorded on TiVo.  Now I really wish this headache would go away....

I'm starting a Technorati profile and claiming that this is my blog.  So, they want me to say: Technorati Profile

That means I have yet another website to play around in.

Well, I've finally broke down and got me one of those NEAT-OTM MySpace themes.  It's pretty bland, but I think I'll be able to take it apart easily enough and make my own from it.  Either that or I'll just leave it as it is.

I don't have time for all that anyway.

This is likely to be the strangest, scariest, most traumatizing thing I have ever done.  As one person remarked, going from 0 to 3 in 60 seconds is completely crazy.  I also have absolute 0 parenting experience and only a handful of experiences of being around kids, when I wasn't one myself.

I've been a daddy now for about 13 days.  I now have three daughters ages 5, 4, and 2.

I am still alive!

I'm happy to say most of it has been good.  Our quite home is, for the most part, NOT.  There have been fights, a flood, declared disaster zones, a bonafide romper room, and an ongoing sibling rivalry.  I've also become the favored amusement park ride.  (I need to learn how to become a three seater though, and build up my endurance!)

As bad as the bad has been, there are too many moments to pick from to be the one to be worth it all.  I hope the next 16 or so years works out that way.

It has been too long since I have been able to describe myself as "happy."  I'm really tempted now.

Since I already have a blog for my personal interests, I'll use this one for my personal rants that I'd consider off topic elsewhere.  Here, it's all about me. :-)  I'll leave it to you to determine if I'm interesting enough to be read.
