i have a housemate downstairs, and his name is jesse frank matthews. he's very nice. since i've been living with him he has given me a bike (that i lost), re-potted a plant, hooked-up my stereo, gave me some speakers, made me a piece of art, listened to me talk a lot, cut our grass and about a million other things.

he has very many projects. he is always pretty busy and productive. he gets up early and gets shit done. he is thrush holmes assistant, takes little kids to parks, does his art, and jams a lot. two of his music projects are jfm and crack mattress (on hiatus).

last night he invted me to come see his newest musical adventure. he is playing drums for a lady names jasmine (sp?) along with ryan mounsey on bass. they go by rattail.

IT WAS AMAZING. so if you get a chance give them a listen, and next time they have a show, you should go see it because it will only be about 5$ and it'll be the best 5$ you ever put on the table. trust.




tonight i go see grizzly bear. i'm very excited. then a fast drive to hamilton for the stag and doe of one chris bell.

today well i was perusing the internet, i stopped on my good friend zoes blog.
i noticed she posted that some of her friends, fiona & louis, were going to be running to raise money to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. not knowing them very well i was just going to skip to the next post, but instead i clicked on fiona's link. turns out that a good friend of hers had been diagnosed with and is currently fighting acute myeloid leukemia. taking a glimpse back at the photo, i realized this friend of hers was sabrina, a girl i met a long time when i worked at a bar in montreal.

when i first started going to green room i always felt like i wasn't cool enough to be going there. it was the hip new bar in the hip new part of town, mile-end. the first night i went there the waitress was so nice to me that i started going their regularly with friends. i ended up being introduced to sabrina and it turned out she was actually the nicest girl ever. i ended up working there a couple years later on nights when Sabrina was working. we never became good friends, but she always gave me free drinks, danced to my shitty djing and is a montreal staple for me.
