Watchin' television is one of my VERY favorite things to do...it's like going to the theatre for free...well, cable ain't cheap; but, you get my meaning.
I must admit...this season...there is not one dern show that I am tuning in for...I started off with a few I intended to watch, (watched a few) then they just sorta' fizzled and I got bored.
What are ya'll watchin' on the telly these days?

Yep! This morning...I was brushing my teeth and somehow flopped a huge glop of toothpaste right in my eyeball...minty pain! If there was an award for Clutz of the Year, I think I might give other clutzes a run for their bruises.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Hope everybody had a great weekend...I did. Last Friday, Mike and I went to Prince Bistro in Flower Mound (as we do EVERY Friday) and it ended up being quite the time. (Thanks for comin' out Danni and for bringing your adorable wife...who ended up bein' a karaoke ringer. She was awesome.) Saturday, at Dos Banderas my best girlfriend from college, Beth came out with her mom, Georgia and a couple friends (Sherri and Terri) it was packed and a good time was had by all...especially Beth and I. Saturday night...Liquid was jumpin' as usual. Sunday, my sister-in-law...Alesha and I went and saw "Twilight."
Yes, "Twilight" the movie is a shell of the fantastic Meyer book...but, I liked it. It was sweet and quick and over before you even got into it. All the vampires were FANTASTIC! Bella was a little hohum...but, not enough to distract. Overall, I thought it was a romp through the woods.
Yesterday, we went out to "Lonestar." It was absolutely the busiest I had ever seen it...which was a super-great turn of events. Several regulars and lots of singers...those are the karaoke nights I can get behind. When we got home (around 2:30) we watched "The Hulk." First off...I don't know why this movie didn't do better. I freakin' loved it. Norton nailed Banner, Tyler was right-on as Betty...and Roth...please, he's always acting salt. It was SO much better than the Ang disaster.
Today, I'm nursing my red-blood shot toothpaste eyeball, attempting to put together a new list of possible employment options, maybe cleaning a bit...and most assuredly lollygagging. AND tomorrow...TURKEY! YAY TURKEY!
Happy Thanksgiving again. Cheers.

Well after an INTENSE afternoon of pavement pounding, tonight Mike is sitting on one side of the couch playing, "Star Wars, Knights of the Old Republic"....(Shiiii, Mike...You Make Me Wanna' Swoop!) I am such a dork.
Anyway, he's playing KOTOR II...but, this one just isn't keepin' my attention, music is lacking in my fancy...so, I'm playing in the internet...which as you know is like way up on my personal "Lollygagging Opportunities List." Also up there on my LOL is karaoke.
Last night at Lonestar, Mike and I had a wonderful time. First...we get set up and there were no technical difficulties. Well, actually...he had to whip the back off the computer---jerk out two memory sticks...blow on 'em, wiggle 'em around a bit and shove them back inside the box. Then...everything was gravy.
We were ready to go over an hour before the event...and the MOD asked Mike to play a playlist sans juke...so, for a full hour we (Mike and I) got to jam on his personal playlist and get to greet people...it was nice.
We started at 9 on the dot...and it looked like it was gonna be slow. Then Ben (Ben is an adorable 'over 80, spunky 'ole codger, who smokes like a chimney and speaks with a thick accent.) asks Mike and I to sing, "Sweet Home Alabama." Not that I have anything against "Alabama" but, I'm from Texas. Buuuuut, Ben is the nicest so Mike and I soldiered up to the "mike" and...well, we got a bunch of the words right. Ben liked it, he bought me a shot, so it wasn't all bad.
Then Eddie (the elevator guy) and his adorable blonde wife that dotes on her man showed. They are just the nicest people. Eddie, from New York sings "My Way" with just the right amount of what it takes to make me cry. (And, it JUST isn't "Karaoke Night" unless somebody makes me cry...some regulars look upon it as a challenge. They even preface the song by sayin', this one is to make "Karaoke Guy's Wife Cry." )
Ooooo, but sometimes, my Padawan, they do not succeed.) But Eddie does! The regular MOD that is usually there when Mike does his gig wasn't there, so I got to sing, "I Got You Babe" with him (she's usually his partner for that one) but, I got to and I had a hoot.
By that time...after a dull night of schmoozing, Robbie showed. (YAY!) Now, Jen. Let me tell you girl...this boy was so downtrodden' that you couldn't make it to his Schmoozefest, seein' as how ya'll had such a great time last year...it was shockin' he still seemed to pull off every song that he freakin' sang. Amongst his evening' showcase were a super star, "Old Time Rock-N-Roll" that made you wanna slide across the floor (Guess "Guitar Hero" IS on to something.) An impromptu "One Week" on the fly that was practically perfect in every way...the crowd loved it...AND a "Piano Man" that made me teary. (You know...Mike remembers you singing this at his 16th Birthday Party...I didn't get invited to it 'cause that fat bitch that threw it thought I WAS a bitch and didn't invite me...plus, she wanted my man...anyway, he remembers you singin' "Piano Man" and calls you a little ham.) So, see it's hard for me to move Robbie from "High School Friends" to "Karaoke Chums."
But, seein' as how you ARE a karaoke master...I'm movin' 'ya to that category,
Mike sang very little, 'cause it actually got pretty busy....Some dude named, Paul...with a bit of prodding and a bit more 'Jäger was singin' all kinds of stuff. A group of cute twentysomethings led by an off-shift waitress that Mike and I have been workin' on gettin' to sing for months...finally gave into the Karaoke Temptation and led her and her team through several "Classic Chick Karaoke" tunes. On off-duty manager I had never met and a bouncer who was MUCH friendler than the one that I usually encounter both got up and sang. Our good man, Steele...always a crowd favorite, rocked us out with "Led Zeppelin." And then there was "Zambo." There were a few other people there I didn't know...and it seemed a good time was had by all. We were there until one instead of twelve...so, seemed everybody thought so.
But, today...I'm all about playin' on the internet...Happy Birthday to my sister-in-law...today is her birthday. (OMG...A light pole fell on Mom and Dad and Joe...on your birthday...DO you have some kinda' arch-villian after you we should know about???) Mike's tummy is rumbling and I think I'm gonna scrounge some grub while he basks in his after "Swoop Race" victory glory. Later Lollygaggers!

Well, Mike and I leave in a few hours to go to his gig at Lonestar. Robbie, as we all know...has a schmoozefest, so he may or may not show...I think he'll be schmoozed out. But, Elizabeth, I never did hear from you...So, I'm just bankin' that you'll be there if you're there.
Mike is drawin'...I've been workin' on HTML all day. Borin' stuff. We're tryin' to make a voicereel...we'll see how that goes. I gotta' go start gettin' all fancified. Later Lollygaggers.

Happy Monday to all ya'll.
So, tomorrow...Mike and I will be in Richardson at "Lone Star." (From 9-Midnight) I'm really tryin' to make an effort to be more sociable. So, ya'll come on out. I'm expectin' at least Elizabeth (and Alex...maybe your buddy Lorne.) and Robbie (or Jen...I know one of 'ya has to stay at home with the little tykes. But, the other one just HAS to come visit and stretch those pipes.)
You guys let me know if you're not coming.
Also...one day Alesha and Joe...I'm gonna' drag ya'll to this one. (I mean ya'll have a babysitter and if we could only all of us get a Tuesday off, we'll be in business with no excuses.)
Wednesday and Thursday are job huntin' days.
Friday...Speakin' of those little tykes. Bring 'em on out to "Prince Bistro" in "The Pines of Flower Mound" shopping center. From 7-9 it is kid friendly and family fun on a "mike." Karaoke, plus a show...then after nine, it gets a bit rowdy. (Aizz, I know I'll see you honey.) And anyone else that feels like comin' on out this way. This gig is like three minutes from our house, so it's a favorite. We have some "Party Animals" alum there (Dave shows up every now and then and pumps out some tunes) and Maureen (you know where this one is...although since you know like a bazillion miles away...you'll have to stay for the wine and couch time, I'd wager.) I think this is the one you should bring your woman to Danni. See, what I did there. HUH?
Saturday, we'll be at "Dos Banderas" from 7:30-9:30. It's a nice sit-down bar area with a stage (fantastic Tex-Mex if you feel like it...or just enjoy the show.) Mostly country and a fine group of regulars...But, sometimes it is a private party so let me know before you come to this one and then not be allowed to sing...that's no fun. A lot of the talent from "Dos" moves on down the road with us to "Liquid" after the show....which brings me to...
Saturday Night from 10-1 we'll be at "Liquid Sports Bar." It's right up the road from "Banderas" (also in Garland, on Lavon.) "Liquid" is a bar, yo! Pool Tables, Big TVS. Crowd ranges the spectrum. (All genres karaokin' at this joint.) It gets fairly crowded and there is an excellent dance floor. (YAY to Amanda!)
Then Sunday I get to go see "Twilight" with my sister-in-law. WooooHOOOOWWoooWHOOO!
Which brings us back to a DOH! Another week done gone.

Happy Veteran's Day! I appreciate you.
(Especially my dad, Semper Fi!)
Well, and one more thing...tonight Mike and I will be in Richardson at Lone Star. Come and Visit. Sing if it strikes you. Why not? There's nothin' on the telly tonight, the election is over and it's Veteran's Day, drink to the Red, White and Blue.

We live in America...freedom and all that shtick...
Can I just say....(At the very least, I can just SAY things right? We DO still have that right?) I think it's a fuckin' cryin' shame that people can't just marry whomever they love.
With the amount of straight people trapped in loveless unions what the hell should they really care? In case I've lost you in my rant...I'm talkin' about the several states that have "banned" same-sex marriage. (I was shocked at California the most.)
Oh yeah...it's because as much as we tout about our freedoms...big brother and his frat buddies (and their mousy shrews) still enjoy tellin' us how to live and what's best for us.
I mean...I can't be a madam in a whorehouse, I can't smoke that sweet sweet herb, hell...I personally can't even get my tooth fixed, go to the doctor for simple checkups (Dogs get better healthcare than myself and MOST of my friends,) I can't even afford to eat most weeks...BUT, at least I am married to the person of my dreams. Which makes everything I don't got an easier horsepill to swaller'.
Tell me people are treated equally. Bullshit! With the majority of people in the world still quoting reasoning based on a book of myths...what what what????
Anyway...that's all I'm on about. I think it's a sad state when people can't be with who they CHOOSE to love! Just because it makes others...what? uncomfortable? Gross, the shortsidedness appalls me. Or they claim it's "about the children." What if your child ends up bein' gay? You still gonna' feel that way? Or will you love your dead gay son? Whatever! Fuckin' bigots!

I have to admit....Livin' in the "Lone Star State" I was hesitant about admittin' just who I was votin' for.
Well, turns out...my guy won....WooooooooHoooooo. Obama! I am so glad. 'Ya know, in my state all you hear about is "race." "Race" didn't mean a hill 'o beans to me this time a-round.
...I honestly thought McCain was a few beans shy of a full cup of Joe and I felt Palin was an embarrassment to my gender. So, needless to say...I am "One and Only Genuine Original Family Band" excited that Obama won. YeeeeeeeHA!
That's all I got right now...it's 1:09am and Mike and I have recently gotten home from his "gig." By the way...he's back on the job hunt, so...if anybody has any leads...NOW'S THE FUCKIN' TIME!!!!
"Peace"-----------Lynn.

While you're waitin' to see who our next Commander-in-Chief is gonna' be, why not do it at "Los Lupes" in Irving (on Airport Fwy.)? Mike and I'll be there from 7-Midnight. It should be fun and then we can all wait with baited breath together. Some things are SO much more fun in groups.
I have to admit, I was a bit put out with SNL's little political showcase interruptin' my stories. Monday is the only real day I watch television. My favorite new show this season is by far "My Own Worst Enemy." I was a bit wary when I first saw the promos for this...I was all like OH, Christian Slater...why...WHY? You're a MOVIE actor...too good for the medium of tv. Well, turns out...it's a hella good show that needed a damn fine actor to pull off the lead and Slater does NOT fail. It's absolutly awesome. Watch it on Mondays, after Heroes. (Before Heroes watch "The Sarah Connor Chronicals" ya' know if you like Terminatory stuff.) The only other show I really like is "Pushing Daisies" and I don't think it'll make it another season, heck...I was suprised it got renewed at all. But, it's funtastically quirky. Plus, I think we could all use a little quirk in our step. Later Lollygaggers.

It's that time...fellow lollygaggers. Go flex those voting muscles and cast your opinion.
Living in Texas...I kinda' feel my vote is absolutly useless...'ya know since for some unfathomable reason this country still uses the obsolete "electoral college." I sorta' hoped that after the last couple of election debacles that our country would find a way to simply make, every vote actually count...but, alas...nope. (You'd think with technology being what it is, it wouldn't be too difficult to do.) Guess, it would make things a bit too democratic though.
So, like Homer...I'll cast my vote and just cross my fingers.

Just wanted to wish all ya'll out there a VERY happy Halloween. As you all know...Mike and I will be at Prince Bistro (in Flower Mound) from 8-Midnight, doing the karaoke thang...come on out if you're lookin' for something to do. It'll be a hootenanny, (which is much better than any 'ole shindig.)
For the rest of the day, I'm reading, "Breaking Dawn" which my awesome sis-in-law loaned me...so, I'm off to daydream of Edward. May all of your own lollygagging pursuits prove fruitful tonight. All the best.

Hey guys...
Hope everyone is enjoyin' the everlovin' tarnation outta' their October. Sorry I haven't been the best of communicators as of late. My horrible self-loathing makes it difficult to do anything but lament.
Monday I went to the library and thought I was well hidden inside one of those little wooden study-cubbies. I was journaling and silently crying huge ploppy tears. I didn't realize the guy inside one of the "Fishbowl" quiet areas had a perfect view. He came up to me and said, "It's not every day you see a pretty girl crying in the library." It made me realize how totally absurd I have been. Like spilling buckets of salt is gonna' help in the least.
That made me stop blubbering at least. Well, for a few hours. I've been crying off and on the past few days. Just tired. Ready to know the answers again, but I seem to have misplaced the key. I'm sure it's here somewhere.
At least I have Halloween plans (It's the little things.) Mike and I are going to his Karaoke Gig at Prince Bistro in Flower Mound from 8-midnight. He's gonna' be Harry Potter and I'm gonna' be Ginny. (Makes sense, no? Plus, we already have the costumes so...free is always good.) Come out if you wanna' get your sing on. Or be judged. Not not by me silly...there's a costume contest. (I promise I'll be on my most entertaining, not lettin' life beat the shit outta' me behavior.)
