HYDE's Diary: Everything is going smoothly so far, and the show already sounds good. If we keep this up, I will be very happy by the end.
Sendai is currently in the midst of their Tanabata festival, although we do not have a chance to enjoy the festivities or fireworks. All things considered though, it is a great time to be here while it is both hot and cool.
Oh yeah, last month we went on a rehearsal retreat of sorts.
A cooler place, high-up in the country.
We left Tokyo so we could prepare for the tour, allow the members to bond, and to relax. We woke-up early, to keep fit, but during the night we drank like crazy. Towards the evening we could hear locusts buzzing… it was like the playstation game "boku no natsuyasumi" (my summer vacation). We also had fun smashing watermelons (a Japanese game of being blindfolded and trying to hit a watermelon… much like a piñata).
It was very cool.
The only problem was, rock n'roll and that countryside don't exactly match.
So the rehearsal ended and we came back to Tokyo. But every time I travel this route, either in a car or train, the same thoughts come to mind…
it's kind of like a time-warp
Looking out the window, you see the countryside surrounded by the mountains, then bridges, and then country houses, soon the roads start to multiply and the scenery phases into small towns. And in the end you reach the metropolis of Tokyo. Feels like watching centuries of Japanese history… in a few hours. You don't actually see flying cars like in the manga of Tezuka Osamu, but Tokyo is pretty close. So this is the present and this is where/when we live… for better or worse.
So these feelings came to me again as I traveled… but only for a moment.
I've got tons to do…
What's next…
In other news, this VAMPS Myspace site has passed the half-million site views mark... thanks everyone. It is my goal to be at a million before the end of the VAMPS tour though, so I will keep on bugging the band for blogs, keep digging-up new info, and even get to another survey or two possibly... so keep coming back and share the love. Don't forget to write where you are from though... the more fans from the same country (not always the same fans) could inspire VAMPS to go tour there (just an idea, who knows what motivates rock stars!?). Just don't be shy. I am not going say this again, you starting sharing the love or I'm telling mom! Share it!!!
