So the holidays are approaching! Its jingle bells all the way until new years now. The Christmas cheer all around is unavoidable. I'm on my last week of promo before the year ends, -its a week of radio shows.
I'm singing at Columbus, Boston, Florida, Atlanta.
Artists all over America show their gratitude to the radio stations by performing at their xmas shows. Z100 does a spectacular jingle ball not to be missed in NY today. Head down there tonight if u can. Its a fantastic show.
We honestly would not have been where we are today career-wise if it wasn't for radio who were the very first to get behind us. They are the reason that u know or even heard about our music.
These last two weeks in Dec are the ones that artists keep available purely for radio in their diaries, because they know how important it is to show gratitude to the most important people -The radio stations and the listeners. These. Shows are where finally we get to meet the fans personally. Which goes way beyond the thrill of reading successful figures on paper. Actually having your fans sing your song with you word for word at these gigs is when u know u have made something special.
Its a connection between people that feels incredible.
I guess all the xmas stuff around - the carols, the reminders to buy gifts, the xmas movies- are starting to rub off their magic on me. Its making me want to be grateful and thankful.
Everyone I know can't wait for their work year to end so they can have a much deserved break. The economy is low and it sucks because most people deserve so much more especially when we have worked so hard all year.
I hope these holidays can be for you all a time of regrouping, and refreshing. A little gap from the craziness. A time to remember our blessings.
I feel the urge right now to be thankful.
-I am thankful for where I am today.
-For what the journey has taught me so far.
