Remember The Alamo made their eagerly awaited return to The Bond for this one, and the turnout matched the anticipation, with The Bond being packed to the rafters with people who had come to see one band or another. Overall, this was very pleasing though.
The first band on was My Fallen Idea, who really should have been the last band on. They played a really great set, and we were really impressed. It's not hard to see why they won the Heriot Watt battle of the bands competition judging on the strength of the songs last night.
The second band on was the ever present Clockwork Guns, who played well as always. They played a different intro to a couple of songs which sounded pretty good, and we were, again, impressed by their performance.
Remember The Alamo came on third, and opened with a new track, 'Fourteen Years' , which was played quite well, despite the fact that Joel's microphone was pretty much inaudible for the entirity of this one.
After this, RTA played through a set which had been mixed up from the traditional set list which people are used to. The setlist was as follows:
Fourteen Years
Cupboard Love Theories
On My Own Again
Papa Smirnoff
The UVA Song
Thanks For Reminding Me, Mark
Afternoon Delight
President Confused
Song For Daisy Buchanan
Let The Sun Set
Joel's microphone was thankfully turned up after the first song, but Jamie's microphone was unfortunately too quiet for the remainder of the set. Admittedly, there were a few mistakes on everyone's parts, but overall it was a solid performance, with some of the songs played better than usual.
The last band on were Maxwells Dead, those experienced giggers. They played through a highly entertaining and energetic set, which again was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and it's hoped that RTA can played again with them sometime soon.
