Ok kids, here is the skinny. We have been discussing changing the name of the band for a bit now and with the onset of a new year, here it is. The
Lifters will now be playing, recording, riding bison, and doing other stuff/things under a new name, The Orbans.
So why a name change? The structure of this band was finally solidified while playing as Lifters. From Justin Pate joining rank as our keys player to Cooper Heffley playing drums full time, we really feel like this group has taken a step foward musically. There are a few new demos up on our page that should give you an idea of what I am talking about. We recorded some of them in our breakfast room at the house and did a few others with Salim Nourallah. If you haven't listened to his stuff make sure you check it out. (

I guess I could also mention that there were also several angry Austin hipsters that had a group called lifters and were threatening to send their "suits"? after us. I don't know how affective a group of taylored pieces of pin striped wool would actually be, but at least we won't have one person tell us that they like our record texas trash again. Sorry fellas, no blood, no foul.
I hope everyone had a great holiday and we are excited about 2009. We will be adding more media and dates to the page soon as well as news on the plan to record the first full length record. Cliff got his Spielberg on and pieced together some video with a demo of one of the new songs called Were Her. I have posted it on our page. Make sure you watch the very end. It's pretty funny. Actually, its extremely funny.
So before this becomes long-winded, I just want to thank everyone that has supported our music, regardless of name. It is going to be a good year.
Cheers,
-Peter
P.S Cliff says "Dream Big"
