Whoo hoo...  It's FINALLY here!!!

I'm Thankful that there are people such as yourself out there that make thought provoking and important pieces of art.  It really adds something to life and society.

I hope you find time to kick back and enjoy your latest accomplishment, you've earned it...

I'm seeing The Fountain tonight. I've been waiting for this moment for months. I've been rallying the troops.

T-minus 50 minutes.

I swear, The Fountain is going to kick everything out of the box office.

Lol at 'best since requiem'. What a complement!

Well anyway, I watched your movie. As a giant follower, I really hoped for alot, while admitting to myself the possibility that it might not actually be that good. Honestly, it isn't really a movie, so I don't really have criterion to judge it. It really was a tapestry, like you yourself said (a comment that will probably be interpreted as pretentious falderall). It is a 90 minute meditation on a death, and I think it works as such, but at the same time I can't say I connected with the characters. Maybe it dosn't matter (I think some complain that the characters in Eyes Wide Shut are uninteresting, but I think in that particulare case it dosn't matter). Also, my intial reaction is that there may have been so many symbols that the urgency of the central drama was lost in the literally dosins of parallels I noticed (down to pattern on the frosted glass of Izzi's hospital room). I guess the weight of all those symbols wasn't always lifted up by the development of the plot. So my intial reaction is mixed, but I will say this: this is a masterpiece, albeit a flawed one, and this is a million times better then getting the same stupid bullshit out of hollywood. If we could create an enviroment where films like this were taken seriously maybe this vapid industry would experience some sort of progess, which hasn't really made any visible progress since 1999. Bottom line is this: this is an acheivement, even if im not exactly of its nature. I'd a million times rather have flawed adventurous films, then impecable formulac stuff.

Happy thanksgiving, Darren! :-) Unfortunately we don't have that in Belgium.

And enjoy your time in Sweden!

My god, what a film.

I sat, paralyzed in awe and introspection, until the lights came up.
Thank you so much.

There is a moment when it all comes together, it all clicks.  I don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen the film, but it's the cross-over in time.  When the guardian of the fountian sees Father.  Incredible.  Mortality is so rarely handled in film, and I've never seen it taken with such a time/space angle before.
