Current mood: irritated Category: Music
There are mostly 4 things I don't want to release anymore on my label.
1) BLACK METAL
I have nothing particular against BM, but it doesn't sell here. No regular customers seem to like this music, and when black metal fanatics get in touch with me to buy records, there often appear to be dull and uninteresting people. What I mostly dislike is the stupid "satanic black" thing and the teenage folklore it deals with. Wake up, there are some topics much more frightening and relevant these days than a black/red dumbass with horns and tail.
There are plenty of good BM labels around willing to do their jobs.
I'm also completely tired of castles, forests, pagan stuff... absolutely not what the label is about. To me, metal is a business and a matter of marketing. You got the name of the band? The title of the release? You got the type of artwork and the ridiculous concepts it represents and so on and on and on...
2) SUNN O))) COPYCATS
Drone doom is cool, but I'm tired of this "O)))" thing. Completely irritating. I like bands that combine influences in a subtle way to create something personal, both in sounds and images. I guess it will disappear just like the boys band hype.
3) SPLIT RELEASES
They are now replaced by compilations. It used to be a way of "testing" new bands to the public, but now I just find the concept useless. Great if the bands enjoy their collaboration, but in the end who's in charge for the sales? There you have it. There are still some splits in production, but then it'll be over.
4) FIRST RELEASES
I don't want to release first demos, I lost too much money in the past. You got to have a full discography behind you and a real fanbase.
... and for god's sake... don't try to add me to your fucking msn !!!
You want something, you send me an e-mail... that's all. I barely have the time to manage this label now, so don't complain if you think things don't go as fast as you want them to go.
I hope I made myself clear.
