I've been getting quite a few questions about how I do what I do, so here's an example from the depths of my blog for those that haven't seen it.

Dave

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

So here it is. All the pieces are now cut up (using a scrollsaw) but assembled on a backing board. Took me a couple hours to draw out, and about 8 hours to cut it all up. I then take out pieces and paint them individually, one color at a time, then reassemble them after they dry. It's a slow process, but it works for me, and I don't have to number the pieces, just have to do a bit of a puzzle to keep it assembled. then I just glue it all together, and move on to the next one.

Once it's glued, we get our kitchen table back for a few days....

Hey mister not only am I a fan of the ar(as I said before)...but I see you are doing a very important part of giving back to community -
Sharing your love and technique with others.
This perpetuates and makes other would be artists feel inspired that yes if you let it flow it turns into beauty.
Thanks for sharing as it shows a sense of selflessness.  Plus the bonus is: that the fans can now have even more appreciation for your time spent and skill in the work.

Ciao Bro

Wow! Your paintings are amazing! I love the free-flowing shapes and bright colors. Thanks for listing your process. How long did this painting take for you to do?

Thanks,

I think this one took me 8 days in total, with a lot of painting late in to the night. Lots of studying it, trying to figure out where to put colors, making sure that no two pieces of the same color are touching each other.

I love seeing the process...in art...whether it is painting, writing, music...the behind the scenes is almost, if not more, fascinating than the final work.
