how's everyone liking the new radiohead album?  i'm probably extremely biased because their my favorite band, so it's hard for them to do wrong in my eyes (ears?).  i think it's pretty damn solid.  a little more chilled out in some spots and minimalized to good effect.  i really hope they tour again soon.  anyways, just want to see what you all are thinking.

In Rainbows may be my favorite one. Its too early to tell for sure, however it is a amazing album by itself and fits Radiohead's discography just fine. Part of my affection towards this album stems from the fact its the first album by Radiohead thats not on a major record label and not to mention the fact you pay anything or nothing at all. It seriously brings tears to my eyes. By the way, just checked you guys out. I like what I hear.

The Boxing Lesson

In Rainbows is brilliant. I can't stop listening to it. To me, they've morphed all their twists and turns over the years into one amazingly solid totally accessible album. It's further along the path that they started down on Hail to the Thief. Each song has a certain minimalist magic to the writing. The new songs have absolutely stellar lead vocal takes, mindwarping basslines, beautifully hollow guitar tones, unique ambient synth sounds, angelic background vocal textures, creative panning and orchestration, and a perfect sequence of songs that lends the album the momentum to take you from track 1-10 before you realize it's over. Gives me chills. They are back for me. I didn't expect this. I'm just curious about what the other 8 songs sound like. I guess we all have to wait for the box set and for the tour next year. paul

absolutely gorgeous. too short though. would've loved a few more tracks. i carry the same bias. i love the increased sentimentality and at least more reserved political statements.
